Marathon Souvlaki is widely praised for hearty Greek comfort food, with generous portions and reliable, quick service whether dining in or taking out. The menu features popular items like souvlaki, lamb chops, calamari and Greek salad, and many reviews highlight good value for money and consistent quality. The atmosphere is described as lively and welcoming, suited for families or large groups, with several visits noted as outstanding for friendly, attentive service. A few concerns appear about occasional slower service during busy times and certain changes to dishes like the salad dressing or bread, but overall the restaurant remains a dependable, affordable staple in the area.
Get ready for an over generous delicious meal! We went for a casual dinner as we both love lamb chops which are not available in many places. We ordered a tzatziki appetizer which, with Greek garlic pita bread, was a prelude to an excellent meal. We followed Angelo's advice on medium for the lamb chops as they are heavily marinated. The plates came with a very large salad (choice of Greek or garden), crisp flat Greek fries, rice & 4 large delicious lamb chops. With a glass of ouzo at only 6$ this was a sumptuous meal that we could not finish. Our waiter Angelo made our dinner memorable with his advice, excellent service & carefully packing the dinner we could not finish. We will definitely be back.

I've been going here for 20+ years. It's sad to say that quality went down tremendously. I used to love the marathon salad with a sweet light dressing. Now it's seems like a heavy mayo dressing which is not appetizing. My souvlaki pita was okay, the bread was very stale. This happened from my last few visits. I don't think I will be coming back unless the recipe is back to what it used to be. Good luck!
Haven't been here in a while. Food great & friendly service as always, but man why did you change the garlic bread? Wish you would go back to what it was.
This franchise offers comforting traditional Greek fare. Their lunch menu provides excellent value for money, a generous portion including flatbread (formerly garlic bread, a bit disappointed), a choice of fries or rice, a salad, & a soft drink. Service can occasionally be slow.
It has been many years since I have been to marathons.... It was as tasty as I remember. They give pita instead of bread now, but it was all delicious.
Honestly I have been going there since the age of 12 & now I am 47. First time I'm highly disappointed. They change their garlic bread to a PITA bread ..that's a very bad move. You can't change the legend food. I'm pretty sure people loved their garlic bread & most of them use to go there to eat that b4 having their meal. First off all they change the size of the bread & now they completely replaced with PITA . I really didn't appreciate this at all. You have raised your price drastically & cut down on my favorite part of Marathon Souvlaki food. Really not impressed at all. I don't think I ll ever go back to eat there untill bread is back . When I told this to waiter . He really didn't care about my suggestion & my dissatisfaction. He goes to me you only come here to eat BREAD . **im like what kind of question is that ** He also told me that this bread is DISCONTINUED. Do you want me to laugh on this BIG LIE. I just couldn't believe it ... Than he told me oh everything is getting so expensive so we had to change it. Than i told him how PAPPOU SOUVLAKI is serving the same bread . I just couldn't believe & I left ....
Our experience at this location wasn't the best. Our server did not come to see us again & he did not take the order correctly. Also, for the bread that they serve for free at the beginning, we had to ask them for it, because they didn't offer it to us, but they did to the table next to us. I never had this type of experience at the Laval or Decarie location.
Usually very good & consistent. Now they changed the bread from thick garlic toast to pita & the iconic salad dressing is no longer the same. That's like when Coke changed their recipe. It ruined a great thing. & on this occasion we arrived to pick up our order but they had forgotten one plate so we had to wait & since the rest was ready, everything was cold. The salad dressing change is really the biggest disappointment.

I for supper tonight food was great as always never had a bad meal from them & i have been eating there since they were only a small take out in chomedey. However this is the 2nd time I have this waiter John never brought my bread or even asked if I wanted some I did see him bringing to other tables never asked if if i wanted anything extra & passed by looked at me & gave my a thumbs up rather than stopping & taking 2 minutes ,btw i would of ordered a glass of wine & a cup of tzatziki . that twice with him NEVER AGAIN
Hello Well my family & I have been coming here for over 15 years & always loved the food. Today it is a different story I had ordered online & when I got to the restaurant they said no internet so had to show them my phone order. We ordered gyro plate with salad...got home & we started to eat. The gyro was so tasteless, dry & hard to chew.......rice was not up to the taste we are used to & salad was soggy. Then the bread that came with meal was so hard you could not bite into it. I was shocked to the point we threw most of it out .....it is not the Marathon we have known..........well they have lost my family from ever going back to Marathon again. Shame on this restaurant
The food is very good & the portions are great. The reason I give 2 stars is because of the service. The waitress displayed a dismissive attitude & she didn't ask us if we wanted garlic bread & we come especially to Marathon for their garlic bread. Even after we asked for it, it was never brought to our table. After serving our food, she never returned to check on us. While the food was amazing, the poor service overshadowed it.
This place never misses. The food is filling & the free garlic bread is also great. My family always orders from here when we have greek food cravings.

Hi! The Chicken Brochette plate was the best one I've eaten! We shared calamari, which was delicious, & they began the meal with a garlic bread appetizer, enough for everyone! The service was excellent. All of our meals arrived together. Every order was at our convenience. Explanations were clear. Water & drink service was continual & they had unique three-way water jugs to serve from anywhere on the table by the waiter. The Brochette was among the highest priced dishes but it was well worth it. I could only eat half! I took the rest home in the nicest, reusable, washable box I've ever seen. I thought I saw a baby Nipsey, too. So cute! He probably had nothing to do with it, but live on! Happy 90th birthday, Bernard's Mami!
