Maison du Souvlaki receives a mix of praise and critique: some reports highlight flavorful, well seasoned options like chicken souvlaki and pita with fresh ingredients and generous portions, making it a quick convenient bite, while other reviews fault a lamb pita for rubbery meat, a dry chicken plate with overdone rice, and large potato chunks, plus a noticeable frying odor and concerns about cleanliness such as disposable plates and inconsistent sanitation. Service is often described as fast and efficient, even when busy, and the staff and owner are generally seen as friendly and hardworking, though staff changes have affected consistency. The place is regarded as a casual, affordable option with standout falafels and sauces, and improvements in freshness and preparation are noted as new staff settle in. Overall, it offers solid value and flavor potential but cleanliness and consistency remain areas for improvement.
I ordered from Uber Eats. The chicken was bland, tough & practically boiled. It's as if it was blanched. I couldn't eat the tzatziki, rice or Greek salad either...Horrible!

I must agree with the other reviews who complained about the meat being rubbery bland, dry & tasteless. I order takeout & both my chicken pitas were inedible. The chicken was so rock hard & dry that with each bite i had to spit it out. Tried to eat it but ended up throwing out 1 1/2 of the 2 pitas. You can tell that the meat quality is extremely low grade. Maybe at one point they served good meat but i can only imagine due to price increases on meat they have decided to lower standards in order to make profit without raising prices. Not a good call. This is the type of chicken you see pre-cooked in the fridge section of the grocery store to go on salads but somehow its even worse. I will not be coming back even if the owner told me to come in & get 2 other pitas for free. Nice people who work there but the quality of the food eclipses that.
2025/09/28: Original review still stands. It's still a great place for a quick bite to eat. Leo's (the owner) son is a great kid & he's very polite, open to chit-chat & runs the restaurant very well in his father's stead.
I'm happy to have a proper Souvlaki place in Chambly. The owner is pretty much there every day of the week & is very kind, friendly, hard working.
There's been a number of changes to the employees since my initial review such as the owner's daughter having moved on to other work & some of the others at the time who were really great are no longer there either. But the quality is steadily getting better with the kids he has now. I was just there a couple of days ago & everything was great. The ingredients were fresh, the chicken was hot & moist & overall, the souvlaki pitas were packed! The service is always very quick (anywhere from 5-15min wait) even when they are a busy which, in my opinion, is reasonable.
The food is unique in our town, the prices are competitive, & the owner is very hard working & welcoming. A little more consistency goes a long way. I love this place & it's my go to place & when I am able to eat out, I always go here first.
Still recommend this place as my go to place in Chambly!
