My husband & I had been here once before, & this time we brought a couple of friends along, & it did not disappoint.
The ambiance is really nice & cozy, & we especially love the open kitchen concept. It's a cute bring-your-own-wine tapas spot, so it's perfect for sharing & trying a variety of dishes.
Let me start by saying the service was outstanding. Our waitress, Rawan, was wonderful, super friendly, made great recommendations, & checked on our table just the right amount without ever feeling intrusive.
We ordered quite a few dishes to share. I had the stuffed zucchini blossoms, beef crudo, & the beet carpaccio with salmon gravlax, which was definitely my favourite dish of the night. My husband had the bone marrow butter with homemade bread, as well as the beef crudo, Parmesan fries, & the shrimp tempura with spicy mango & papaya salsa. We also shared the braised pork belly & Caesar salad.
Our friends ordered the cavatelli, charred cauliflower, pork belly, Parmesan fries, lamb shank, & lamb chops.
Everything was fantastic across the board, everyone really enjoyed the night & loved the food. We wrapped it all up with the white chocolate crème brûlée, which was absolutely delicious.
We'll definitely be back again
I was excited to eat here after looking at the menu & reviews. Upon entering the restaurant I felt disappointed. We waited in front with no one to greet us. My friend had to wave someone over to be seated as we had reservations. The staff was off. Not friendly or accommodating. The restaurant is very open to you bringing your own wine. We did. The manager opened our wine & put it on the table. Didn't pour it. She was so rude.
The food was uneven to say it best. We ordered the specials: Paella & short ribs. The ribs were good, but the $42 Paella was awful. The ingredients were top notch but soaked in salty clam juice. The sausage, octopus, & mussels all tasted like salty clam juice-as well as the rice.
Overall I give the service a 2 ambiance a 4 & the attitude & food a zero. Overpriced & underwhelming.
Good food but tiny. It's a nice place to have a chat with friends. You can bring your wine or beer but don't go if you're hungry
EAT HERE! This restaurant checks all the boxes. Excellent food - Attention to detail, reasonably priced, nice presentation, weekly board menu offering seasonal alternatives to their regular menu. BYOB - We love being able to bring our own wine selection Friendly staff Great atmosphere with a lively downtown vibe. Great cocktail bar next door for pre or post cocktails! A must try!
Had a great time at The Main for a girls night. We got to bring our own wine & share each tapas family style. The server Bryanna helped us pick & choose each dish that would accommodate our group. The Main also does catering & did a fantastic job at our wedding in 2018!
Really great bring your own wine in the middle of Hudson. Seasonal menus & amazing specials keep us going back to try more ❤️. Also you can't beat having the best cocktail bar next door to kick off or end your night off 🍸.
Great place for date night, family gathering. Excellent food & friendly staff. Bring your own wine. It's a great place to hang.
Simply my favourite restaurant - great food - small portions that allows you to have many dishes. Menu changes regularly enough for variety. Bring your own wine which is also a big +. Recommended many times & all are quite pleased with this gem! If you are a foodie - this place is a must!
Came here with my husband on a date night last week & sat at the bar. Amazing food...& especially amazing truffle fries!!!! We didn't realize it was byob but we were able to get a bottle of wine from the lounge next door (which was a bit pricey!) We will definitely be back & bring our own wine next time:)
