Display Allthai(133) soup(43) noodle(40) chicken(33) pad thai(32) rice(27) yum(21) tea(20) authentic(17)We've been to this place twice now, the fried chicken is absolutely great! We also tried the noodles & rice, but they're not as special as the chicken. & don't forget the Thai milk tea - it's a refreshing treat. Overall, it was a great experience, & we'll definitely be back!View more
The fried hainan chicken combo is incredible. You get friend chicken with dipping sauce, rice & an incredible broth to pair with the rice, a complete & perfect meal all for $20. My only complaint is that looking at the menu in July 2025, they seem to only have the steamed chicken as an option. That they don't have a fried chicken option anymore makes me sad.View more
Don't come here for the Hainan Chiken Steamed Rice! It doesn't deserve $20 at all.
The chicken is too little, with enough rice to make you feel full. The making of chicken is also not classic enough.View more
That is the most authentic Thai food I have ever experienced in Quebec. As a person who had lived in Thai,I can say Pad Kra Pao is my favourite all time of this place💕💕& the papaya salad is exactly the same taste. But rice is sometimes undercooked in khao Man Gai steamed chicken. But overall is great 👍View more
I went there randomly. The best decision made. I ordered chicken noodles soup & my friend ordered green chicken curry. The food was good. Service was great. The food was served quick. Since it was a very cold day, they even offered hot water as option. Highly recommendedView more
The soup warms your body & tastes great. The only thing missing to enjoy it more is a soup spoon. Using a regular spoon for soups isn't an enjoyable experience. The rice was soft & perfectly cooked. The chicken was also soft & succulent. Cutting it with the spoon was really easy.View more
Have been ordering out from here for several years. I love the chicken green curry dish but the last couple of times I ordered the chicken has been very hard to find even tho the price remains relatively stable. I don't think 6 bites of chicken can be sold as a chicken curry. I have been very disappointed.View more
Great authenticity. The todmun hai is on point. Except the broth stock should be consistent with chicken not beef. The beef stock didn't pair as well with the gai. We had street noodle quiew tiew dry moo was excellent included with fixing that you'd discover with Thai street food. & last dish was the crispy pork. Good as well. The atmosphere was cramped & busy. Not my preference. But the food flavors made it worth it. Overall great service & well attentive & friendly.View more
My Thai boyfriend said it is really authentic as it reminded him of his childhood. The spices & flavors were spot on. Everything was delicious & staff were friendly. Definitely recommend this hidden gem! We ordered the Kao Man Kai Tod (Thai Hainan Fried Chicken) & the Kuai Tiao Tom Yum.View more
I'm always very skeptical trying Thai food in North America due to it being inauthentic to the real deal. . I ordered chicken rice & my friend ordered chicken noodle soup & we got two drinks. I've had much experience of Southeast Asian food & as soon as I walked into the restaurant as I smelt the aroma inside the restaurant, it was very nostalgic & it was very authentic. I could tell immediately that the food probably is very close to being as authentic as & good as it can be. The chicken rice was really good & the soup was amazing. My friend's chicken noodle soup was also very authentic. It was very comforting to have food like this in the winter. I really regret not trying that tom yum soup I will try it when I return. The reason why I'm giving four stars . the major downside to this are the drinks are absolutely horrendous & taste horrible. The drinks itself are traditional drinks that you would find in Thailand or Southeast Asia but I don't know what sugar they use because it tastes very very artificial. The artificial sweeteners or whatever they use completely make the drink inedible & disgusting. Me & my friend did not even finish half of the drink & we just left it. We will return to the shop in the future.View more
Inconsistent food quality is the biggest letdown here. Some days, the dishes are tasty & great value, representing a very accessible Thai food experience. Other days, the portioning is stingy & the food is mediocre, with heavy MSG flavors more noticeable than the ingredients themselves. As a specific example, on a good day (30% of the time), the Hainan steamed chicken rice is a spectacular dish, where the rice is aromatic with chicken oils & herbs, & the chicken is juicy but not fatty. On a bad day, the chicken is flavorless & rubbery, the rice tastes bland with too much herb & too little chicken oils, & the dish leaves much to be desired. I am a regular, & unfortunately it seems the consistency is worsening. Back in the day (3-5 years ago), I would have given 5 stars.View more
The food was really good. We tried their Pad Thai with chicken & prawns, Thai Milk tea, Hainan fried chicken with rice & their chicken balls appetizer. Would definitely recommend !View more
The food was overall really good. The steamed Hainan chicken & rice was excellent. We enjoyed the sticky rice dessert as well. Papaya salad was average, but the soups were interesting. The staff were really friendly & attentive. Had i been able to, would give the restaurant 4.5/5. One thing that brings it down is having to order up front & pay first. I get it, utilitarian, but it seems like a nice restaurant, so having to do a food court/canteen style seems off. However, they do bring the food.View more
We went today because it's not far from home, what can I say, the food is delicious, but in my opinion, it was very salty & greasy, we took chicken & beef soup. But the rolls are very tasty, vegan really😅the staff is friendly, but you have to pay before you eat. Respectively. You don't know how much to tip because you don't know what the service will be like. The atmosphere is just normal, average.View more
It drives me crazy when people think ethnic food - mostly Asian - should be cheap & plentiful. This place is reasonably priced given today's inflated market for food but given the skill, care & quality that one experiences when dining here - it's a bargain. I had watched a movie about a Thai restaurant & had an insatiable craving for Thai noodles. Or a trip to Thailand. The next day I did a search of places to go & Mae Sri popped up. It was one of our daughter's favourite restaurants as a student when she lived in Montreal & she had taken us there years ago. So I went to their new location. I had the Pad See Ew with beef - not chicken - as the server said it was his favourite. I had originally thought I'd eat half & take the rest for left overs the next night but what came out was one perfect portion for one person. Which was good. Because I wouldn't have shared even if it were more. The guy lan was perfect. Noodles. Outstanding. & the beef was tremendous. All came together in a plate of Thai street food at Canadian prices for a meal. The menu is quite a bit more expansive so I will go back. But the food still lingers in my mind. Which makes it a heck of a bargain.View more
