Came here for a special dinner with my husband! Beautiful dinner outside with a view of the river & the blankets for when it got chilly was a great touch!! Fish & chips were amazing & one of the best steaks we've had. Can't forget the delish scotch egg & yummy cocktails. Service was excellent, we felt very warmly taken care of. Such a nice spot for a night out :)

We had the most amazing time at MacTaverne! The food was delicious & the service was wonderful! Tim & his team made us feel so welcome & the vibes on the terrasse were lovely with the setting sun by the river! We loved the scotch egg & the steak was sooo good. Amazing cocktails as well! The rhubarbara Streisand was perfectly tart & sweet.

The fish in chips were so well done & the steak was cooked perfectly & a great treat. A great by the glass wine offering & beer list was spot on. The service is perfect, attentive, kind & efficient. All around such a lovely place!

MacTaverne exceeded our already high expectations. After an incredible first visit for cocktails, we returned for dinner & weren't disappointed. The owner Tim & the bartenders, Charles, were warm, welcoming, & genuinely passionate about what they do, creating an atmosphere that makes you want to linger & come back again. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between cozy & sophisticated.
The food was exceptional. The steak frites were cooked perfectly, the salad was fresh with a light yet incredibly flavourful dressing, & every dish reflected the same attention to detail we'd experienced on our first visit.
The cocktails remain a standout & are among the best we've had....ever! The highlight of the evening was an Irish coffee unlike any I've experienced. The silky mousse used instead of traditional whipped cream was brilliant twist that elevated a classic into something truly memorable. It was, without question, a next-level Irish coffee.

MacTaverne was an elevated cocktail & dining experience but set in a warm amd welcoming setting. I'm already planning my return.

This place is an absolute gem! The setting alone is worth the visit : stunning terrace with a beautiful view on the river. The staff were all super welcoming.
We had the mocktails of the moment, which were refreshing, creative, & honestly SO SO SO good! The food was absolutely mouth-watering. We tried the Scotch egg, fish & chips, linguine, & steak, & everything was WONDERFUL. The desserts tasted so great too. This place is a MUST-TRY! All in all, beautiful setting, amazing food, & wonderful service. Can't ask for any better honestly. We'll definitely be back & we definitely recommend this place to everyone passing by

We had a wonderful dinner here on a busy Sunday night. The service was first rate & the food was outstanding. The appetizer of tuna tartare was my favourite & then I had steak cooked to perfection.

OK, we have wanted to take a dinner here for some time & last night we finally did & are we so glad we did. Super friendly service, amazing meals (all Scottish pub based) & a tranquil rushing river next door. Although the weather meant staying inside, the massive wrap-around patio would be fun on a warm evening. Some of the very best fish & chips (real malt vinegar to top it off), mushy peas & a juicy steak. But be warned...the salty fries are more than addicting!😉 Best vodka martini in town did not hurt either.

We ate steaks here after a long day in the woods, & it felt like stepping into some fairytale, like a place hidden behind a door at the base of a large tree.. steaks were amazing. Extremely high quality, cooked medium rare how I like it, the fat was the best part. Grass fed fat just tastes different. They have a wizard making cocktails too because the drinks were perfect!

Nous y sommes allés hier avec des amis. Super ambiance , le personnel est vraiment serviable & de bons conseils. Le steak de boeuf bio est un incontournable. Nous y retournerons certainement. Bravo

Wow, amazing food, friendly atmosphere & a great playlist. What more do you need. Our steak & pie were absolutely divine. Worth the small detour. Looking forward to this summer on the terrasse.
