We stopped into this darling little Italian place for lunch while on a visit from California. We were absolutely delighted with our whole experience - the cheerful service, the lovely ambience, & the delicious food! We enjoyed the salad bar (definitely have the potato salad, it was very good) & bread. The onion roll was our favorite. My husband had the spaghetti & meatballs & absolutely LOVED it. The meatballs were fantastic!! I thoroughly enjoyed the tortellini with rosé sauce. The tortellini was very light, the filling was creamy, & the beautifully balanced sauce was the perfect blend of red & white. Honestly, we ate here on the second to last day of our 6 day trip & our only disappointment was that we didn't find it on day 1 or 2 so we could have gone back for more! Next time we are in Montreal you will definitely be on our list!View more

L'Usine de Spaghetti is about incredible food, scenic spot, & top-notch service. If you're in Montreal, this is a must-visit spot!

We started with a pitcher of sangria & it was easily the best sangria in town! Fresh, bursting with amazing flavors, & perfectly balanced with a mix of fruits, it was smooth & refreshing. The alcohol was subtle, making it the perfect drink to complement our meal.

The shrimp alfredo was an absolute standout. The creamy sauce was rich, velvety, & packed with flavor, coating every bite of the al dente pasta. But the real highlight? The giant, chunky shrimp-perfectly marinated & cooked to perfection. Every bite was indulgent & satisfying.

The olive sauce pasta & lamb shank were equally impressive. The lamb was so tender it was literally falling off the bone, bursting with rich, savory flavors. The alioli sauce on the pasta was light & delicious, complementing the dish beautifully.

We ended our meal with the best tiramisu in Montreal -**juicy, moist, & perfectly thick layers of rich coffee-infused cream, delicately balanced with thin, airy cake.** It was the perfect way to finish an unforgettable meal. Thank you L'Usine de Spaghetti! Amazing!View more

Nous avons visité L'Usine du Spaghetti à Montréal en famille (deux adultes, deux enfants). Malheureusement, notre expérience a été plutôt décevante. Mon mari a choisi une des assiettes du jour, la joue de boeuf. Le goût était bon, mais la pièce de viande était froide. J'ai pris le spaghetti à la sauce tomate : la sauce était savoureuse, mais les pâtes manquaient de sel, rendant le plat très fade. De plus, les spaghettis n'étaient pas des pâtes fraîches, mais des pâtes standard qu'on trouve en grande surface. Mes enfants ont pris le spaghetti à la sauce bolognaise. La sauce contenait beaucoup trop d'origan séché, ce qui en masquait le goût & n'a pas plu à mes enfants. C'est pourtant un plat qu'ils aiment habituellement & qui est assez standard. Côté dessert, ils étaient bons, mais cela ne suffit pas pour compenser notre déception globale. Pour un restaurant portant le nom "L'Usine du Spaghetti", nous nous attendions à une meilleure maîtrise des sauces & des pâtes.View more

The food was disappointing. Option 15 which was linguini smothered in a cream sauce & undercooked chunks of onions. The chunked onions should not have been noticeable. Really quite gross. I thought it was closed dish to Cabonaro. Nope not even close. The Italian Kaiser rolls were not fresh at least day old. My wife's dish was ok but she eats anything. The best was the kids menu we got my grandson. It was good. All in all very disappointed. The salad bar that can be a meal at 15$ is a joke tomatoes beets, a weird potato salad & kale. Not great. Although located in the heart of a very touristy area of Montreal, L'Usine de Spaghetti is anything but a typical tourist trap. The Spaghetti St. Paul & the Spaghetti St. Leonard are both excellent, the sauces full of flavor but not overly spicy. The fettucini with lamb was also excellent & cooked nicely. The salad bar is nothing to write home about, but the service is very friendly & the prices are fair for the portions you receive. This restaurant won't change your life, but you'll eat well without putting a hole in your wallet. You can certainly dine a lot worse in the Vieux Port for a lot more money.View more

Overall an under average dining experience. They did not have a dedicated hostess working, they just had the wait staff seat people when they had a free moment, so we had to wait a while to even get an estimate of how long it would be. They advertised a free salad bar with your entree which sounded good but was ultimately disappointing. It was really just bowls of pasta salad & potato salad you could serve yourself from. There was one bowl of actual salad but it was basically just a pile of greens with a splash of dressing. I decided to get the spaghetti & meatballs, their signature dish. The sauce wasn't very flavorful for being a meat sauce & the meatballs weren't tender at all. The pasta was fine, but it's hard to mess up pasta. It wasn't bad overall, but you might as well buy a box of pasta & a jar of sauce from the store & save yourself the money.View more

Mais lors de nos deux dernières visites, nous avons été très déçu de la qualité de la nourriture. Aujourd'hui erreur dans notre commande, spaghetti à la viande sauce à l'eau & au goût d'une sauce en canne. Bière sans alccool 8 $ sur le menu & soudainement 10 $ sur la facture. Petit conseil, si vous allez manger à ce restaurant, éviter la table pour deux à l'arrière du restaurant car la banquette n'est pas confortable & vous devrez subir un bruit de compresseur pour la durée de votre repas.View more

Service, atmosphere & salad bar good but food is not very good! Complementary bread was dry & tasted like frozen bread. Overall, I think the price for what we got was good considering it was in the middle of old montreal. It felt like it was a place for tourists! The main dishes were too salty & felt like I could have made them at home. Mushroom risotto: not a lot of mushrooms, oily & lacked flavour. Lobster pasta: nothing amazing The sauce lacked character. Options for Vegetarians are more than I could have found in some Italian place in Toronto. I went down with an option that included seasonal veggies pasta, & oh boy I did not expect a variety of veggies sauted with a nice sauce seasoned well, where most of the times I order this somewhere else tasted blend, this was a surprise & exceptionally well in flavors & spices.View more

The restaurant is very old & that's the best thing about this place, in my opinion. The decorations & design transports you way back in time to early 20th century perhaps. & Charles Dickens writing the notes for "A tale of two cities" there is very impressive! There was a line when we went for dinner at 6 PM & the line was much longer by 7:30 when we exited the restaurant. The waiter was super attentive & very kind. The salad bar is free with any main meal but half of the salad bowls were nearly empty & we had to ask them to refill them. I got "le Jean Talon" which was Fettuccini in Alfredo sauce but asked for the jumbo shrimps to be replaced by chicken. It was nice but nothing extraordinary. I mean it felt like I had tasted the exact same thing several times in my life, & so close to the recipe I used to make at home. The portion wasn't super big. I had butter & bread that they brought at the table, had two plates of salad, & still could easily finish my dish of pasta (which considering the creamy sauce is a bit heavy). The restaurant is a bit on the pricey side, especially considering the portion size. All in all, amazing environment, polite waiter, but not impressed by the food & prices. :)View more

Nous sommes allé à ce restaurent le 27 avril 2024 pour un souper tardif & nous étions 2 adultes avec un enfant. Comme d'habitude, il y avait une petite file mais nous avons vite été inviter à prendre place. Le décors de ce restaurant est chaleureux & intéressant car il relate l'histoire d'une époque révolue. Nous avons eu la chance d'être servis pas SAM, un jeune serveur des plus efficace! C'est d'ailleurs ce qui me motive à écrire cet avis. Il m'est souvent arrivé de tomber sur des serveurs/serveuse déplaisants, arroguants, certains qui donnent leurs avis sur des choses qui ne les concerne pas, d'autre qui nous presse à terminer notre rapas car ils sont sur le point de terminer leur shift (c'était arrivé justement à ce resto quelques années auparavant), vraiment, il n'est pas rare de tomber sur des gens qui n'ont aucune aptitude pour faire ce travail. Cela dit, SAM, lui, il assure en tant que serveur! Il a été attentif, rapide, à l'écoute, sympathique, bref, EFFICACE en tout point. Un vrai professionnel qui se démarque par son savoir faire. Côté nourriture, je n'ai pas du tout aimé l'entrée de brushetta. En revanche, le bar à salade offre des choix intéressants & on adore leur sauce crémeuse à l'ail! Mon poulet parmigiana était bon, sans plus. L'assiette de tortellini sauce rosé de ma fillette était généreuse & elle l'a bien aimé. OVERPRICED BARILLA! I expected to have a nice pasta, prepared by hand but instead they serve a basic Barilla that you can buy in any store & boil yourself. The meatball that comes with pasta No.14 also feels like they bought it in a supermarket & just heated it. To ask 24$ for such a quality is a crime! The sauce in pasta is over spiced with rosemary, too much, not enjoyable at all! Feels like someone tried to cook pasta for a 1st time really! If you buy a ready to eat Italian sauce in a supermarket, it would be better than this one for sure. The atmosphere was very tourist, but not in a good sense like the Banquise, more like very crowded & dark. The salad bar that is included in the pasta price is very basic, simple pasta salad with mayo, potato with mayo, nothing worthwhile. The bread they serve is also from a supermarket & not from a good one. I expected to enjoy some freshly baked tasty bread, but it is not the case! The garlic butter is very artificial & it also from a store & it is a cheap one. The burrata costs 24$ & it is small & not fresh! The fresh burrata should be a bit liquid on the inside, this one is more firm. The waiters do not replenish the water. Over all, it is a place which serves cheap food from a supermarket but puts an overpriced tag on it, do not recommend.View more

First ever authentic Italian cuisine & wine 🍷, & it was devine! We had Liano 2020 wine 🍷 that was really tasty 😋 & ofc the lamb chops with pesto spaghetti, ayayayay, very palatable, tender, well seasoned, & pesto sauce was mouth-watering. Ugggh, can't wait to go back & try all other pasta recipes 😋 😍 🤗 The service was excellent, very friendly, cheerful & warm smile 😃 Atmosphere, very cozy ✨️ & comfy chairs hehehe 😉, well lit, not too bright, not too dim, perfect light temperature for your eyes 😄 It's not easy for me to give 5 stars, but this was hard not to give a 5 star review. La nourriture était plutôt ordinaire & les portions moins généreuses qu'espérées. La sauce à la viande, supposée être leur spécialité, était décevante & la viande quasi absente. Ils chargent 4$ pour faire gratiner les plats & il n'y avait presque pas de fromage. Les escargots à l'ail coûtait 10$, ce qui est nettement exagéré pour 6 escargots & les enfants n'ont pas aimé leur plat. La sauce rosée goûte....rien. Il faut le faire.

Le service est quant à lui très rapide. On était à peine assis que la serveuse voulait prendre notre commande. Lorsque nous avons payé, une autre serveuse est venue nettoyer la table & remettre le couvert pour les prochains clients alors que nous n'avions pas encore pris toutes nos affaires. Ils sont la pour faire le plus d'argent possible au détriment du service de qualité.

Bref, nous ne retournerons jamais à ce resto & ils pourront continuer d'arnaquer les touristes.

J'ai été un peu déçu du menu, je m'attendais à plus de combinaison possible pâtes/sauces puisqu'il s'agit d'un restaurent de spaghetti. Le pain était excellent, mon plat de spaghetti au pesto avec saumon était correct. Mon conjoint a pris le plat de 3 pâtes (canelloni, ravioli & ) & il a trouvé ça bon, mais ordinaire. Le service était aussi ordinaire puisque toutes les tables autour de nous ont été servies avant nous (la serveuse nous a dit par après que c'était parce que mon saumon prenait du temps à cuire). Ce n'est pas du tout romantique comme endroit dû à l'étroitesse des lieux, les tables sont toutes collées les unes sur les autres.

J'adore les pâtes & je croyais que je serais chamé par ce resto, mais ce n'est pas le cas.
