It has absolutely stunning ambience in the back of the store with historical artifacts on the wall & even the old store sign from when it was one. The food on top of that is even better. I had the chicken parmigiana with spaghetti. Their home made sauce is definitely one of the best. We also had the gratinated garlic bread, it was seriously delicious. For dessert I had the strawberry cheesecake which had an absolutely amazing presentation & incredible texture.
Bottom line, if you're looking for an Italian place to go to while in Montreal. Go here.View more
Love the menu concept that was named after places in Montreal. Came here twice so we've got to try several dishes here & we love them all. Free salad bar & bread as appetizers both for lunch & dinner. The staffs were also amazing. Lovely space to visit if you come to Old Port (small note that it's first come first serve, they don't take reservations)View more
Wonderful pasta place.
Excellent meat dishes. Very courteous staff.
All-you-can-eat bread, garlic butter & salads with any main dish.
Wait time is about 15 minutes around 8PM.

We stopped into this darling little Italian place for lunch while on a visit from California. We were absolutely delighted with our whole experience - the cheerful service, the lovely ambience, & the delicious food! We enjoyed the salad bar (definitely have the potato salad, it was very good) & bread. The onion roll was our favorite. My husband had the spaghetti & meatballs & absolutely LOVED it. The meatballs were fantastic!! I thoroughly enjoyed the tortellini with rosé sauce. The tortellini was very light, the filling was creamy, & the beautifully balanced sauce was the perfect blend of red & white. Honestly, we ate here on the second to last day of our 6 day trip & our only disappointment was that we didn't find it on day 1 or 2 so we could have gone back for more! Next time we are in Montreal you will definitely be on our list!View more
Lovely atmosphere, friendly & fast service, & good food. Waited ~ half an hour for a table & it was well worth it! The salad bar & unlimited bread w/ garlic butter was what sold it for us 😅 we got four different pastas & they were all delicious. Cocktails are a bit pricey but otherwise the menu is affordable! Would absolutely recommend!View more
Nice rustic atmosphere. On-the-house salad bar & the variety bread basket with garlic butter is a sumptuous addition to their delicious entrees we tried the ravioli, penne, tortellini for lunch & they even custom made a sauted vegable entree for someone who was a vegetarian.
Do not forget to order their desserts - the chocolate cake was a bliss!View more
The salad bar is a nice touch, though somewhat limited. The bread quality wasn't great, with the onion bun being the only standout. As for the pasta, both the pesto & ragu were comforting & filling. Overall, a nice spot near Bonsecours Market in Old Montreal.View more
Food was mediocre at best. Bread brought to us was stale & cold. Salad bar was not a draw with all the flu & viruses around. Basically it's just a tourist grade restaurant.View more
If you're looking for a place with a nice atmosphere & decent Italian food, this spot at the old port is worth checking out. The vibe inside is great-warm & inviting. They have a small salad buffet included with the main meal, & they also offer bread & butter. A slight downside was the butter being too frozen, making it difficult to spread. We tried the dish number 18 & the number 12. Both were good-nothing that really blew us away, but still enjoyable. What really makes this place stand out is the location. It's right in the heart of the Old Port, which is such a fun area to explore. I'd recommend wandering around the old streets, soaking in the scenery, & then stopping here for a meal. It's more about the overall experience than just the food alone, & for that, I'd say it's worth a visit.View more
The lobster linguini & lamb chops spaghetti are worth trying! The lamb chops are tender, though its spaghetti is just okay. They also offer a free salad bar, & the complimentary bread comes in two types, a classic baguette & a flavorful onion-garlic option, both are good. However, the restaurant is too popular & often crowded, so the service can be a bit slow.View more
Fabulous!!! Best meal in Montreal. Balanced flavors, perfect portions, & the bonus salad bar & bread were 100%. Friendly service & beautiful atmosphere, definitely recommendView more
Food is quite good & its IPA is fairly good of taste so I ordered additional one during my lunch. However, the free salad bar will be available only the case whole member order their each food not sharing the less dishes than whole member. The appetizer bread is quite tasty to boom up of taste.View more
The staff was very sweet. I asked my order to be prepared faster as I had a flight to catch & they accommodated my request. Upon leaving the staff wished me for a safe flight. Which might seem like a small detail but to remember that & have the presence of mind to wish shows their commitment to the job. Loved the mushroom Risotto & the selection of breads offered.View more
Honestly one of my favourite restaurants I've been to ever. The atmosphere is so warm & inviting, the servers are very kinds & welcoming, & the food was delicious. It's also great value for their prices as most deviants come with complimentary bread & salad bar - I cannot recommend it enough!View more
This was a nice dining experience if you're craving Italian food in the old montreal area! Not only are their pasta dishes massive, but they have an ayce salad bar & complimentary bread & butter! This definitely made the experience more enjoyable. The staff were super friendly & the food was delicious! Definitely coming back here when I visit montreal!View more
It's a nice place to grab some good Italian food; service was spot on! Loved the bread they served with herb & garlic butter! A bit pricey but definitely recommend! Good location, nice interior & good service!View more
Delicious, the plate was clean once I was done! Meal also include bread & a salad bar!View more
Cute place with a very nice vibe. They serve all you can eat bread & salad bar before your meals, portion sizes are quite generous so make sure to not fill up on bread & salad. Service is very good & attentive! Sometimes long lines cause they're very popular so be prepared to wait.View more
Service, atmosphere & salad bar good but food is not very good! Complementary bread was dry & tasted like frozen bread. Overall, I think the price for what we got was good considering it was in the middle of old montreal. It felt like it was a place for tourists! The main dishes were too salty & felt like I could have made them at home. Mushroom risotto: not a lot of mushrooms, oily & lacked flavour. Lobster pasta: nothing amazing The sauce lacked character. Lamb chops & pesto pasta: nice lamb chops & pasta was pretty good. Would recommend out of all the dishes. Salad bar: fresh salad & side dishes!View more
We tried the Bruschetta, Penne Arrabiata, & the meatball. Loved everything that came. The tomatoes on the bruschetta & in the arrabiata is simply scrumptious! The complimentary breads were really fragrant too, I didn't think I would like onions on bread, but turns out I do! The place was charming & nice atmosphere too.View more
Staff were super nice. Portions big for the price! & the unlimited salad bar & bread was so a great add on! Tottaly recommend & super affordableView more
Very nice look to the restaurant but food was just OK. My spaghetti was not warm, hardly had any sauce & definitely no flavor... Bread was not warm & butter was cold from the fridge. No exceptions are allowed for the plates.View more
The restaurant is very old & that's the best thing about this place, in my opinion. The decorations & design transports you way back in time to early 20th century perhaps. & Charles Dickens writing the notes for "A tale of two cities" there is very impressive! There was a line when we went for dinner at 6 PM & the line was much longer by 7:30 when we exited the restaurant. The waiter was super attentive & very kind. The salad bar is free with any main meal but half of the salad bowls were nearly empty & we had to ask them to refill them. I got "le Jean Talon" which was Fettuccini in Alfredo sauce but asked for the jumbo shrimps to be replaced by chicken. It was nice but nothing extraordinary. I mean it felt like I had tasted the exact same thing several times in my life, & so close to the recipe I used to make at home. The portion wasn't super big. I had butter & bread that they brought at the table, had two plates of salad, & still could easily finish my dish of pasta (which considering the creamy sauce is a bit heavy). The restaurant is a bit on the pricey side, especially considering the portion size. All in all, amazing environment, polite waiter, but not impressed by the food & prices. :)View more
OVERPRICED BARILLA! I expected to have a nice pasta, prepared by hand but instead they serve a basic Barilla that you can buy in any store & boil yourself. The meatball that comes with pasta No.14 also feels like they bought it in a supermarket & just heated it. To ask 24$ for such a quality is a crime! The sauce in pasta is over spiced with rosemary, too much, not enjoyable at all! Feels like someone tried to cook pasta for a 1st time really! If you buy a ready to eat Italian sauce in a supermarket, it would be better than this one for sure. The atmosphere was very tourist, but not in a good sense like the Banquise, more like very crowded & dark. The salad bar that is included in the pasta price is very basic, simple pasta salad with mayo, potato with mayo, nothing worthwhile. The bread they serve is also from a supermarket & not from a good one. I expected to enjoy some freshly baked tasty bread, but it is not the case! The garlic butter is very artificial & it also from a store & it is a cheap one. The burrata costs 24$ & it is small & not fresh! The fresh burrata should be a bit liquid on the inside, this one is more firm. The waiters do not replenish the water. Over all, it is a place which serves cheap food from a supermarket but puts an overpriced tag on it, do not recommend.View more
The pre-meal bread was tasty, & most of the dishes were okay. It's just a bit regrettable that everything took a long time.View more
Bread was dry, spaghetti was over cooked, no chew. Service was awful.View more
The atmosphere was nice. The food was good & the portions were generous. The salad bar was ok, not a lot of variety, but it does the job. I wish the service was better, there was no explanation on the menu, nothing about the all-you-can-eat salad bar. We even have to ask for our bread in the middle of the service. The waiting time was also long even if the place is almost empty around 4pm.View more
Superb service, great decor, this will be one of my goto places in Montreal. This is a classic Italian restaurant that has been around for decades. Dark, masculine interior with sports photographs on the wall. Our server was a delight. Attentive, helpful, just lovely. The wine... Liano Sangiovese. Delicious. I picked up a bottle on the way home. Bread, perfect. We got the penne with salmon & the lobster fettuccini, both fantastic. Dinner comes with their salad bar; simple & fresh. Just when I thought it could not be better... maple, carrot cheesecake. It was literally a combination of carrot cake & cheese cake. I've been to hundreds of restaurants. This dessert is now in my top five. I can't wait to go back. Magnificent! Magnifico!View more
