I wasn't sure if it was going to be intimate enough, but I've been to LOV before & love their menu. It turned out to be a lovely evening & exactly what we needed. The server was attentive, gave recommendations, & I was overjoyed to see some of my favourite item still on the menu as well as many new items that were creative & absolutely delicious. We were full, but still ordered dessert & had absolutely no regrets. LOV has been a favourite of mine because of it's vegan menu, & every non-vegan friend I've brought to this place has always absolutely loved it. This time was no exception; my partner raved about the food. A bonus is that the McGill location borders Old Montreal, so we had a nice romantic walk in the old Port afterwards to digest all the food we ate. Lovely evening.
We had a mixed experience at Lov Restaurant. My boyfriend's vegetarian burger was tasty, & my California bowl was a generous portion. The waitress was friendly & even made me an Aperol spritz that wasn't on the menu, which was a nice touch. However, when we arrived, the host seemed stressed & rushed, giving me a weird look when checking our reservation. He allowed us to choose where to sit, but when we requested a table for two, he firmly said no because it seats four, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. This left us feeling cramped next to other diners. Overall, the food was good, but the service could use some improvement.
Came here with my boyfriend on Saturday at 2ish pm for Brunch. Brunch ends at 3pm. There were two other tables. We got the chocolate hazelnut pancakes, the sweet waffle, & the truffle fries. The waffle was good. Hot & crispy. Good flavor too. The pancakes were quite cold though & flavorless. I asked the server & he said they were supposed to be Luke warm. He did ask if i wanted to send them back to the kitchen, but if that's how they serve them, then obviously I wouldn't, but I didn't enjoy eating cold pancakes. So keep that in mind. I also realised at the end that it was supposed to come with matcha ice cream as per the menu. I asked the server, he went to get it for me & said they were out of matcha, & gave me vanilla instead. I don't know if the kitchen thought I wouldn't notice, & that's why they omitted it since they were out, or it was an honest mistake. I hope it's the latter. The server was friendly & the service was fine but I'm not sure I'd go back as it wasn't a fantastic meal. I'm dairy intolerant so i get excited when I can have chocolate pancakes/waffles, so I was a bit disappointed. The fries were okay, weirdly not very truffle forward but I liked the dipping sauce. If I went again I'd try something else.
Great kimchi fries & berry smoothie. But for me the kimchi was seaweed. Great service. Beautiful restaurant.
Beautiful ambiance & decor. Tried the Brussel sprouts & truffle fries. Both were yummy but truffle fries was completely missing the truffle flavor...also wasn't hot when served. The Brussel sprouts were listed as spicy but had no kick whatsoever.
Excellent tofu Benedict - the sauce, the sun dried tomatoes, the buttered toasted muffin, & the deep fried tofu created a beautiful symphony in my mouth. 10/10. Great service too. Note that they have a separate brunch menu that's not on their website but on the reservation page on Resy
Great atmosphere & friendly staff. However I took off 2 starts due to the lasagna coming to the table in a hot container but the food itself was ice cold in the center. The server apologized, I changed to the cheese burger which was good. I would have given 4/5 stars if it wasn't for the fact when we were paying the server apologized again & explained that this issue with the lasagna had been going on for months & the boss refused to listen. On a positive note the rest of the food was delicious & the male bartender (with really short hair or possibly no hair) was nice. He serviced the bar, the tables in front of the bar & was helping servers bring food to the tables.
Stumbled on this gem as I was wandering montreal. The interior is beautiful. The staff was friendly. But the star is their cocktails. Their bar tender is a potions master & watching him whip up the drinks was so much fun. The tango mango smoothie is the best smoothie I've had in the city. There is only so much one person can eat but I'm definitely coming back to try the rest.
A great, unique vegetarian/vegan restaurant with a diverse menu to appeal to plenty of tastes. The mushroom risotto is amazing & there are great, hearty salad options. We also really enjoyed our mocktails. The service was relatively quick & very friendly. Prices are reasonable for the quantity & quality of dishes.
Incredible plant based menu & the kimchi fries are worth revisiting this place on their own.
