We had a great time playing cards at this pub. They have a nice selection of Quebec beers & also a huge selection of whiskeys from Ireland, Scotland & other regions. The prices are quite reasonable & I'd say lower than most other places. The food is also quite good, a decent selection, a little bit of something for everyone. The plates are fairly small, but the prices are in line with the size & there isn't a whole bunch of extra stuff to thrown away at the end. The music is also kept at a reasonable level, it did get loud in the evening just because there was a lot of people but no one was overly loud, it was just busy, which was nice to see. The only real complaint I have is with the tables, the oval tables are very crammed in & made it hard to have your drinks & play a small card game, rectangular or square tables would be much better.

I go every other month for a meeting with scientists & the pub has a cozy little back room set aside for the scientists. I have never actually had any food at the pub but their drinks are pretty good!
Pub très sympa avec un grand choix de boissons. Serveuses adorables. Seul bémol Manque de choix pour les plats sans gluten. Mon amie n'a rien pu manger.
Located in a really nice location on St Denis, really nice pub, liked the ambience & interior. They have so many options to choose for whiskey & scotch & good selection of cocktails. Didn't try the food but it also looked pretty good, definitely will try it again.

Pub featuring an extensive selection of Scotch whiskies from various regions of Scotland. The food & other drinks are very good. I especially enjoyed the French onion soup. It can get quite loud though.
L'ambiance était super, notre serveur & ses collègues qui apportaient les plats & les breuvages ont tous été d'une gentillesse & d'un sympathique! Toujours agréable de passer un temps au Pub de l'Île Noire. Nous y venons souvent entre collègues & nous sommes un groupe de 11-12 personnes. On s'y toujours bien accueillis :) Merci!!

Toujours un beau pub pour déguster des gins ou du scotch. Peu de places chaque fois que j'y vais, un beau tetris mais on fini par trouver! Les pris sont un peu rendus moins intéressants mais comme tout cette année !
A well-done pub that brands itself as a whisky bar. Whisky selection was not sprawling but better than an average pub. Our server was great, I enjoyed her style & attitude. Lovely local beer selection at reasonable prices. More mature crowd than the student-dominated bars along St. Catherine.
Un de mes pubs préférés! Les drinks sont excellents & choix de gin & whisky est impressionnant. Etbles serveurs sont sur la coche! Ils connaissent leur drinks & savent diriger le client selon ses goûts afin de permettre une belle expérience de dégustation.
**Ok for drinks & ambiance not for food or dinner**
We tried visiting this place when the patios opened up in Montréal a few weeks ago. There were tables available however we were told they were reserved. So at the time we went to another restaurant on St-Denis.
In order to guarantee a place today, we reserved in advance.
The local beer pints on tap (Boreal, st-Ambroise & one l'île noire which is a red). We ordered the charcuterie platter ($22) with the description that you see on the menu. No indication that they are out of foie gras mousse & a replacement of what appeared to be a Costco selection of cured meats. There was a big glob of mustard a few pieces of bread & voila.
I think they should take notes from pubs & breweries in the area because we didn't feel like we got our money's worth. Also, we didn't feel the server was enthusiastic about the menu, we understand why. When we asked about food items in the Google review, they remark was that they "changed" the menu
Our conclusion, Ok place for beers & drinks, not for food.
Le Pub l'île Noire est depuis des années un lieu de rassemblement de choix. Pour une fête, un anniversaire ou encore un party de bureau, l'ambiance est extra! & que dire sur le service ... agréable, rapide, joviale ? Sans hésitation je vous recommande ce pub qui depuis des années luit par son magnifique emplacement & son staff extraordinaire.
