It's on June 13, 1983 that the dream became reality: The Restaurant le Vieux Four de Laval, located in the small village of St-Vincent-de-Paul warmly welcomed a clientele which has since remained faithful.

Mr. Manago is from the Italian province of Reggio Calabria, more precisely the small town of Palmi. It's from here that he got his taste for wood oven pizza, fresh and natural produce, a tasty and refined cuisine, which he offers us at Le Vieux Four.

This Italian restaurant is a family affair: M. Manago has always been accompanied and supported by his wife and their four children. All of them have put their heart in it; the hopes of the family were great. The instant success of le Vieux Four beat all expectations. This restaurant today is an institution and is renowned for the quality of its food and hospitality that it receives. It is with pride and determination that Mari France Manago, surrounded by a strong team, took over this great adventure and hopes that this institution will remain an unforgettable destination for a very long time.

We used to go there my husband & I few years ago & it was just perfect. But yesterday, we went & we won't go back there. First, the prices are crazy, very high, it's ridiculous. Second, we had a young girl to serve us. It's not the big deal, but the owner should coach them better regarding the customer service. It's his responsibility. When she brought our white vines, it was....not cold at all. We were outside, very nice evening & almost 28* degrees, she said: well, you know when it's hot outside, the wine becomes warm. WHAT ? you don't say that to your clients. Finally, she put the wine in another glass & put the glasses on ice in a bucket, which was perfect. Third, my husband took the Veau a la marsala, he tasted it, no good reaction. I then tasted it & it was awful, not good at all, the veal was a lost. Then, the young lady came (probably saying to herself: that's my bad customers tonight, 1st not happy with the wine & now what) ? My husband explained that the veal was not good, & she said: not good ? with a kind of attitude.... Finally, he chose something else, pasta, & when she came back, she never apologize for that, no excuses, nothing, not even a free dessert or a rebate, nothing. We left, with the impression that she does not care about the customers or to get a chance with apologies what we might come back. Sorry, but It won't be the case.
