Welcome to Le Vieux Dublin, Montréal's oldest Irish Pub. Located in the downtown core, the “Old Dublin” offers two bars, a seriously impressive list of imported and domestic beers on tap, an expansive food menu featuring award-winning burgers (some say they're the best in town), one of the best scotch lists on this side of the Atlantic and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that has kept customers coming back for decades.
Le Vieux Dublin Pub & Restaurant offers a warm, cozy Irish pub vibe with live music and a friendly atmosphere, and many reviewers praise the beer and whisky selection along with solid drinks; however, some diners note a menu that lacks finesse and occasional inconsistencies in food, such as orders forgotten or dishes that fall flat. The experience is described as welcoming and social, with service that is often attentive and personable, even when first impressions are mixed. The ambience can be lively and noisy at times, but the overall mood is described as authentic and enjoyable. Overall, it is seen as a popular spot for a pint and casual bites, drawing repeat visitors who appreciate the energy, the classic pub feel, and the promise of good times despite occasional menu or service hiccups.
The Old Dublin is a required stop for me as soon as I arrive in Montreal from Ottawa. My girl Arlene behind the bar always knows what I need - a tall crispy Guinness & to keep them coming. By far the best Guinness in all of Montreal. The vibe in the Old Dublin is the perfect quintessential Irish pub outside of Ireland. The clientele are fun & laid back, even after a long day at work. It is always a 10 star experience here! You know we will be back, Arlene! Looking forward to seeing you again!
Was looking into trying this pub for the first time, pretty terrible welcome, nobody comes to say hi or anything about seating us or being full at the moment.
We ended up asking the lady at the bar & she almost pushed one of us out of her way & then finally told us that everything was reserved.
She didn't offer to take our names or provide an estimate wait time she told us to go away'she is the bouncer'.
Good work ma'am enjoy your starry review I will not come back so there's no chances for it to change.
I have not had a chance to sample the food. I have been too busy trying the many beers they have on tap! The wait staff is friendly & courteous. They will make drink recommendations when asked. It usually has a fun, Irish Pub kind of feel as the night wears on.
We were doing a walking pub crawl, when we stopped here. The bartender was very friendly, prompt service. We didn't eat but the menu was standard pub fare.
I really enjoyed this pub! We went on a Friday night while we were waiting for our show nearby. The old-school vibes were right on point. We got a few pints & a few shots. Along with some apps. All was great, & the price wasn't pricey. The place is also quite big. I'm willing to bet this place pops off during Saint-Patrick's Day, no doubt. All to say, keep it up; I'll pop by during Saint-P's day.

Pub très sympa décoration dans son jus (irlandais année 80's) Mention spécial pour le service de Catherine souriante & réactive à nos demande. Je recommande pour boire une bière entre collègues ou pote.
Food was tasty & good portions, beer selection was cold & plentiful, bartender was excellent & friendly. What else do you want in a pub Will be back next trip.
Fun classic pub with amazing burgers & a great selection of drinks. Many choices of beers & liquors that fuel a great night. There are multiple floors so there was lots of room for our larger group. The live music helped build a fun atmosphere at night.
My fiancé & I came to this pub for some drinks & had the best time! Such a great atmosphere & the staff are incredible! Special thanks to Tara for making our night even more special & for being so kind❤️
