Welcome to Le Vieux Dublin, Montréal's oldest Irish Pub. Located in the downtown core, the “Old Dublin” offers two bars, a seriously impressive list of imported and domestic beers on tap, an expansive food menu featuring award-winning burgers (some say they're the best in town), one of the best scotch lists on this side of the Atlantic and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that has kept customers coming back for decades.
Le Vieux Dublin Pub & Restaurant offers a warm, cozy Irish pub vibe with live music and a friendly atmosphere, and many reviewers praise the beer and whisky selection along with solid drinks; however, some diners note a menu that lacks finesse and occasional inconsistencies in food, such as orders forgotten or dishes that fall flat. The experience is described as welcoming and social, with service that is often attentive and personable, even when first impressions are mixed. The ambience can be lively and noisy at times, but the overall mood is described as authentic and enjoyable. Overall, it is seen as a popular spot for a pint and casual bites, drawing repeat visitors who appreciate the energy, the classic pub feel, and the promise of good times despite occasional menu or service hiccups.
Went in for a single beer & the bartender tries to make me feel bad for not tipping her. She said she doesn't earn enough so no tip is not appreciated, as if it's my responsibility to pay her wage. Extremely rude & entitled, would never go back again
The Old Dublin is a required stop for me as soon as I arrive in Montreal from Ottawa. My girl Arlene behind the bar always knows what I need - a tall crispy Guinness & to keep them coming. By far the best Guinness in all of Montreal. The vibe in the Old Dublin is the perfect quintessential Irish pub outside of Ireland. The clientele are fun & laid back, even after a long day at work. It is always a 10 star experience here! You know we will be back, Arlene! Looking forward to seeing you again!

Was looking into trying this pub for the first time, pretty terrible welcome, nobody comes to say hi or anything about seating us or being full at the moment.
We ended up asking the lady at the bar & she almost pushed one of us out of her way & then finally told us that everything was reserved.
She didn't offer to take our names or provide an estimate wait time she told us to go away'she is the bouncer'.
Good work ma'am enjoy your starry review I will not come back so there's no chances for it to change.
Was there in April, great beer selection bartender was salty at first but she was actually really great & personable & loved us even being from Florida. I would highly recommend this ba
I would give 10 stars for service if I could. Man oh man the bartender/server Chris was so good I thought he owned the place. I'm a company owner & if I knew I had an employee this good I would be giving him shares in my company. We watched him impress every guest that came in here. We had some calamari that was great. But the only thing I can talk about is Chris & his charismatic personality. His beer recommendations were absolutely perfect.
Bartenders are amazing, Arlene is wonderful & very welcoming, & really great to interact with. They have a great atmosphere, & live music. Awesome place to grab a beer.

We were doing a walking pub crawl, when we stopped here. The bartender was very friendly, prompt service. We didn't eat but the menu was standard pub fare.
Food was tasty & good portions, beer selection was cold & plentiful, bartender was excellent & friendly. What else do you want in a pub Will be back next trip.
We sat at the bar for dinner. The fact that it wasn't busy on a Saturday night should have told us something. After a couple beers, we ordered chicken fingers with onion rings & fish & chips. Both were large portions & the quality was good but not great. It irritated us that we were charged $.75 for an extra tartare sauce. Our bartender Tara was personable & efficient. But we wish we had waited in line for our first choice.

Visiting from Alberta, had a great time here. Awesome beers & the BEST customer service from our bartender, Chris. We will be back for sure for the incredible service alone.
Our 2nd time there. This will probably be a must visit for us moving forward when we come to Montreal. They have live music Tuesdays to Saturdays. We love the bartender. Great personality. We had recognized her from the 1st time that we tried this place out over a year ago. Even though she was busy, she took the time to ask us where we were from & talked with us through out the evening. Really great place & good service.
