Welcome to Le Vieux Dublin, Montréal's oldest Irish Pub. Located in the downtown core, the “Old Dublin” offers two bars, a seriously impressive list of imported and domestic beers on tap, an expansive food menu featuring award-winning burgers (some say they're the best in town), one of the best scotch lists on this side of the Atlantic and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that has kept customers coming back for decades.

Review Summary

Reviews of Le Vieux Dublin Pub & Restaurant describe a lively Irish pub with old world charm and a convivial atmosphere, where live music and a welcoming crowd are frequently highlighted. The beer selection is often noted as solid, with a strong whisky list, but some guests wish for more specialty Irish beers or greater variety. Food experiences range from amazing to hit or miss, with several dishes praised while others fall short and a few orders reportedly forgotten or delayed. Service is described as friendly and attentive when able, though occasional delays or mismanagement at busy times are mentioned. The space can be noisy at times but remains a fun setting for casual drinks and group outings. Overall, reviews point to Le Vieux Dublin Pub & Restaurant as a good spot for a pint, pub fare, and live entertainment, with plans to return during trips or events.

The ambiance was great, but the beer selection was rather average. There were no specialty beers, & I was expecting a wider choice of Irish beers. They only offer the standard options, which is acceptable but disappointing given the theme.

The service was mediocre. My nachos order was forgotten, & they only arrived after I asked twice. When they finally came, they were very disappointing. Even my five-year-old could have done better. Nachos without jalapenos are simply not nachos.

I have not had a chance to sample the food. I have been too busy trying the many beers they have on tap! The wait staff is friendly & courteous. They will make drink recommendations when asked. It usually has a fun, Irish Pub kind of feel as the night wears on.

Top 2 or 3 irish pub in Montreal. The inside is super nice & huge drink selection. The food portions are massive too. Their Indian food is pretty good too. Love this place.

Not the best Irish pub I've encountered.

This is exactly what you want in an Irish Pub: large, cold beers, full bar with many whiskeys, pub food. We had the fish & chips & onion rings, & it was excellent: light batter, large portion, tangy coleslaw. Nachos on the table next to ours also looked good.

When traveling in any town a visit to an Irish Pub is always in order. Le Vieux Dublin in Montreal did not disappoint. There was 1 bartender who handled a full bar & a few tables & made it look easy. There were many great Irish Whiskey selections & it seemed many more pint options. The customers were friendly & even bought me a couple pours of good whiskey. Guys....be sure to checkout the urinals.
