& the coffee was excellent - rich aroma, smooth texture, & perfectly balanced flavor. It was freshly brewed & full of depth, giving a great energy boost. Definitely a must-try for coffee lovers!

I went in today to buy a dozen sesame bagels & was told I could only take six because they needed to'save them for other clients.' I was a client, standing at the counter ready to purchase, yet was forced to take plain & poppy seed instead-neither of which I enjoy. The bagels themselves are just average, & with so many better (& more reasonably priced) bagel shops in Montreal, I'll be going elsewhere moving forward.
Thanks to all the previous google reviews I found & tried out this bagel place. & I was happy I did as these bagels were heavenly!! The bagel shop is not that big & is located in a nondescript lane with hard to find parking. But the first bite into the bagel sandwich put all my doubts to rest. By far the freshest bagels & sandwich ingredients, super soft & flavourful. Every bite was better than the one before it. Coffee could have been better but again I didn't go there for their coffee.
Absolutely delicious bagels! They make them right there in the shop. They are so tasty. Service was good too. It is kinda hot in there due to them making the bagels.
I visited three bagel shops on my recent trip & Le Trou was by far my favorite. Great balance of firm exterior & pillowy interior & the all dressed/everything seasoning was very flavorful.
Ok, real review time.. I don't write many reviews but reading the insane posts here, I had to set the record straight.. The SESAME bagel is nowhere near a "montreal bagel".. I didn't try any of the "sandwiches" which may be fine, but we're talking bagels here.... Sticking with a pure montreal bagel, this doesn't cut it. Take the trip to st viateur, Fairmount, bagel ouest in ddo or even kettlemans in a pinch. This was the second time I got bagels after being dissapointed with texture & taste when they opened. They may look like our bagels but they have the insides of a new York bagel. I knew the second I picked one up. That's fine if you like that, but it ain't what us bagel purists are about.. Please don't consider the SESAME as a representation of a "real" montreal bagel.. It's a hybrid at best.. Also, strangely the only bagel shop I've been to, to give 12, & not 13 (bakers dozen) when you buy a dozen...
I had SUCH a good smoked salmon bagel here i'd probably live here if i could. It's a nice cozy cafe store with a couple of seats & a very rustic, warehouse vibe to it. Service was great, bagel was even better, glad to have listened to whoever recommended this bagel shop!!
Very tasty bagels in this small shop with limited seating. The man at the counter suggested the beer & cheese bagel for my smoked meat sandwich, & he was right!

Really good breakfast sandwiches. Not a huge menu but was very happy with my breakfast sandwich. Also, got some of the bagel holes & they were soft & delicious! I feel like some of the other bagel shops in the area have a tendency to get a little too chewy/firm. These were perfect!
A very well deserved review , stayed for a week & tried out the "best" bagel shops in Montreal & this was my absolute favourite. The bagels are super fresh , they actually cook them in front of you . The manager is the dopest of the ropest for sure . & the bagels just hit the spot every time .
What makes a New Yorker come back multiple times for bagels & get some to take back home? This bagel shop. We loved the bagels, & the manager was so kind to our large group

Best bagel I had in Montreal. I went to both of the more famous/older bagel shops & neither compared to this "new comer". Friendly service & amazing food! 🥯
22 March, 2024: Le Trou Bagel Shop was a decent Bagel Shop. I ordered a dozen bagels & a bagel deluxe sandwich. Best part(s): 1) Sandwich was really good it's a decent size & it's tasty. 2) Customer service was good & decent that day. 3) You can eat inside if you want. 4) They have sandwiches & bagels that you can eat & order. 5) The bagel was really good as well. Cons: 1) The Shop is the smallest I've ever been to. Not enough space to eat or relax. 2) It's pretty pricey for me but I don't mind since it's taste good. 3) Parking may be a challenge. 4) The location is pretty far in Griffintown. 5) The Shop has a weird entrance & share a building with another establishment. Other than that I would be back here again. Everything was good when I was there. Hope to try their different items in the near future. I would recommend this establishment.
Bel accueil avec de beaux éléments de décor chaleureux qui complémentent à merveille le service. Les bagel sont goûteux quoique ayant une densité inattendue : la texture n'est pas celle à laquelle je me suis habituée en fréquentant les bagels shoppes du Mile End. C'est unique &, à discuter avec le responsable de l'endroit, c'est la force de cet établissement ! Longue vie au Bagels Le Trou !
Neighborhood bagel shop. Small in size but has that local neighborhood vibe. Bagels are fresh. I know'cause I watched as a batch was being made. NY bagels have met their match😜. A variety of sandwich choices on menu. Coffee...🤔 Well it's a bagel shop, not a coffee shop. The coffee however is still enjoyable. Looking for fresh quality bagels...this is the place.
