Extremely disappointing experience, mainly because of the rude & unprofessional behaviour of our server.
Our server, the curly-haired waiter, was dismissive & disrespectful from the beginning. When we arrived, we wanted to sit on the outdoor patio, but he immediately told us that the patio was closing & made our group sit at the tables directly in front of the pub instead. However, shortly afterward, we saw him seating other customers on the same patio that was supposedly'closing.'
When we confronted him & asked why other customers were being allowed to sit there when we had been refused, he simply said,'You're good here,' referring to where we were already sitting. No explanation, no apology, & absolutely no effort to address our concern. His attitude came across as arrogant & dismissive, as though our concern wasn't worth acknowledging.
The service only got worse from there. While bringing us a pitcher of beer, he was holding it with his thumb/finger inside the pitcher, actually touching the beer. It was extremely unhygienic & honestly shocking to see from someone serving drinks to customers.
We also asked for napkins three or four times & still weren't given any. We ordered chicken wings that never arrived, & when we eventually asked about them, we were simply told that the kitchen had already closed. Nobody had bothered to tell us beforehand that our order wasn't coming, nor was there any attempt to resolve the situation.
When it was time to pay, our group of seven asked to split the bill, only to be told that it could be split into a maximum of four payments. This was yet another unnecessary frustration on top of an already terrible experience.
What made everything worse was the server's attitude throughout the evening. He was not polite or accommodating & seemed irritated whenever we raised a concern. When we decided not to leave a tip because of the service we received, he appeared offended & behaved even more unprofessionally afterward.
We have lived in Montreal for several years & normally tip generously when we go out. All seven of us agreed not to tip this time because the service & attitude were that bad. We have genuinely never experienced this kind of treatment at a bar or restaurant here.
We weren't asking for special treatment. We expected basic politeness, hygiene, & professional service. Unfortunately, even those basic expectations were not met.
Based on our experience, I would absolutely not recommend this place.
I can't really say how the food is. The kitchen was closed when I got there.
Not a fault of the pub.i was told to have their poutine. If I can come back earlier I will try to have it & change the food rating to appropriate levels.
good drinks, horrible service... one of the staff membres was very rude to us, if you need someone to quiet down a little bit (in a pub???), you dont have to say it in an agressive way...

Greetings from Halifax. I was visiting Montreal on vacation last week for my birthday & came upon this wonderful place through a recommendation from Passport Montreal. What a wonderful experience. I had one of the nicest, helpful, kind, funny & professional servers I have ever had. I forgot their name but had long dark hair with a rainbow scarf. The patio was cozy & the pub looked wonderful from the patio. The beers they picked were outstanding especially the yellowish one. Perfect for a hot summer evening. The poutine was delicious & everything was freshly made. A true asset to the community. Thank you for a wonderful evening & experience. I will definitely come back when I am in town again. All the best.
Le propriétaire de l'établissement sort régulièrement dans les médias pour se plaindre du sort des bars. Lorsque nous souhaitons l'encourager, le service nous démontre qu'il devrait se regarder avant de se plaindre publiquement. Nous sommes restés 2h30. Un serveur est passé prendre notre commande après 20 minutes, est passé à plusieurs reprises devant notre table sans nous demander si nous souhaitons une seconde consommation. Par contre, un second employé fort sympathique est passé a plusieurs reprises pour récupérer nos verres vides. Après avoir accroché le serveur, il s'est passé une autre demi heure sans que la bière soit apportée. Nous avons même demandé un suivi au serveur qui s'est empressé d'aller faire payer les tables aux alentours avant de revenir nous porter la fameuse bière. Franchement, ne faites pas d'arrêt à cet endroit. Il existe de nombreux autres endroits fort plus sympathiques pour profiter d'une terrasse entre amis.
This is a true pub with a large selection of beers on tap, pub food, & personable service. Busy or not, you will feel happy to be here. Highly recommend their stouts & burgers.
Tombé par hasard sur ce pub-restaurant, la bière artisanale est top & la poutine très bonne. La déco & l'ambiance & sympa & les serveuses , à la fois cool & pros, elles sont là pour vous guider. Je recommande.
Nice pub! Friendly staff, good draft selection & convenient location. The retro gaming system is fun too :) We returned for dinner & were very pleased with the food we ordered. The truffle mac & cheese was incredible! Our server was great & the music was excellent
