Extremely disappointing experience, mainly because of the rude & unprofessional behaviour of our server.
Our server, the curly-haired waiter, was dismissive & disrespectful from the beginning. When we arrived, we wanted to sit on the outdoor patio, but he immediately told us that the patio was closing & made our group sit at the tables directly in front of the pub instead. However, shortly afterward, we saw him seating other customers on the same patio that was supposedly'closing.'
When we confronted him & asked why other customers were being allowed to sit there when we had been refused, he simply said,'You're good here,' referring to where we were already sitting. No explanation, no apology, & absolutely no effort to address our concern. His attitude came across as arrogant & dismissive, as though our concern wasn't worth acknowledging.
The service only got worse from there. While bringing us a pitcher of beer, he was holding it with his thumb/finger inside the pitcher, actually touching the beer. It was extremely unhygienic & honestly shocking to see from someone serving drinks to customers.
We also asked for napkins three or four times & still weren't given any. We ordered chicken wings that never arrived, & when we eventually asked about them, we were simply told that the kitchen had already closed. Nobody had bothered to tell us beforehand that our order wasn't coming, nor was there any attempt to resolve the situation.
When it was time to pay, our group of seven asked to split the bill, only to be told that it could be split into a maximum of four payments. This was yet another unnecessary frustration on top of an already terrible experience.
What made everything worse was the server's attitude throughout the evening. He was not polite or accommodating & seemed irritated whenever we raised a concern. When we decided not to leave a tip because of the service we received, he appeared offended & behaved even more unprofessionally afterward.
We have lived in Montreal for several years & normally tip generously when we go out. All seven of us agreed not to tip this time because the service & attitude were that bad. We have genuinely never experienced this kind of treatment at a bar or restaurant here.
We weren't asking for special treatment. We expected basic politeness, hygiene, & professional service. Unfortunately, even those basic expectations were not met.
Based on our experience, I would absolutely not recommend this place.
I have been watching the Dutch World Cup matches at Le Saint Bock & I want to give them a shoutout for having the nicest bar staff ever. Very attentive & friendly people. Also I love that they have vegan poutine & a really nice selection of beer on tap. Overall great vibes! I'll be back for more football matches!

Nous sommes venus mercredi soir après une graduation & nous sommes sortis extrêmement déçu de notre expérience. Les serveurs étaient non chalant & rude. Nous étions une gang de 20 personnes & nous étions les seuls dans le bar & nous nous sommes faite avertir très méchamment qu'on fesait trop de bruit DANS UN BAR & NOUS ÉTIONS LA SEULE TABLE. Vraiment service horrible de la personne au mullet frisé.
Il y a plusieurs années, que je vais toujours au Saint-Bock chaque fois que je me déplace pour aller voir un spectacle/terrasse au centre-ville, mais là... samedi 18 avril, la terrasse n'est meme pas ouverte malgré une journée incroyable de 22 degrés sans le moindre nuage & , en soirée, cuisine pas ouverte pour manger/grignoter, il manquait 2 des 3 bieres qu'on a commander...on a dû prendre autre chose...& c'etait plus que flat j'aimerais bien donner une bonne note...mais je sais pas comment s'est possible... bar vide un samedi soir...
Je peux dire que le service était bon au moins.
Dire qu'avant, il y avait des bieres importées & des files d'attentes pour entrées....
Nous sommes venus pour soutenir un bar local qui disait sur les réseaux sociaux avoir des difficultés, mais l'honnêteté n'était pas au rendez-vous.
Une'pinte' vendue 9,75 $ (avant taxes & service) qui s'avère avoir la même contenance qu'un simple petit verre d'eau (test fait sur place devant la serveuse). C'est une arnaque pure & simple sur les formats.
Le manager, mis au courant, a refusé de faire quoi que ce soit.
Nous avons laissé un pourboire pour le personnel qui n'y est pour rien, mais la direction devrait avoir honte de traiter ses clients ainsi. PASSEZ VOTRE CHEMIN!!!
Edit : Suite à mon avis d'une étoile, le propriétaire m'a demandé de régler cela en privé. Je préfère décliner : mon but n'est pas de récupérer mes 9,75 $, mais de prévenir les futurs clients qu'ils risquent de se faire arnaquer sur les quantités. L'honnêteté ne se négocie pas en privé.
We had a great time at Saint Bock, we actually went twice! Our server/bartender was so sweet & attentive! (so sorry I forgot to ask your name!) The food was SO good, & I had one of the best whiskey sours ever. Great place to sit at the bar or outside. Def recommend :)

Gentil staff très serviable & efficace.
J'ai pas essayé la nourriture mais la bière est absolument délicieuse. Toujours un plaisir de m'y arrêter seul ou entre amis pour une petite dégustation.
J'aime bien la petite Table/Nintendo, on peut jouer à des jeux retro comme Tetris ou bien Pac/Man.
La musique qui y joue c'est pas vraiment mon style mais je vais pas là pour ça.
I couldn't recommend this place more! The staff is very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, & a lot of fun! I was in the city for the Marathon Beneva de Montréal, & remembered how fantastic this place was when I visited in 2023. During this visit I had the pleasure of sitting at the bar top. Unfortunately I didn't get the bartender's name, but they had dark curly hair & a great sense of humour! The beer list was very impressive! I usually like to try only new places but I went back to this spot a few times during my trip.
