Le Roi Du Smoked Meat is described across reviews as a classic Montreal deli with legendary smoked meat, generous portions and a warm retro diner vibe with red booths; the meat is repeatedly praised for flavor and tenderness, sides like pickles and fries are dependable, and service is often friendly and efficient, creating a nostalgic comfort that keeps guests coming back, though some comments mention high prices for what is offered, occasional long waits or a space that can feel chilly, and a few notes about menu changes or inconsistent dessert and poutine options.
It was a good place to get authentic Montreal Smoked Meat sandwiches. Portions were large enough to fill you & it was all reasonably priced. A smoked meat sandwich with fries & a drink costed us $22 each.
There was a street festival going on which gave us a more better experience.
I wanted to try out the smoke's meat sandwich in Montreal but tell the truth. The food itself is small portion & I paid two sandwiches including tax. It came to $35. I can get a full meal for $15 & I will be full just because it's a smoked meat sandwich doesn't mean that their potions should be disproportionate. Does service & the customer service is on point but the food itself truly was not hitting the mark. I'd rather go somewhere else where I can get my money go further.

Ordered an all dressed smoke meat pizza on a trip to Montreal, & was confused about the options on Uber Eats. I called & asked in french if the person I was speaking to spoke or understood english, so I knew if I needed to continue in broken middle school level french or could swap to english.
I was then told,'YES & OUR MEAT IS NOT HALAL!' & was then hung up on.
I was pretty shook? I just wanted to ask about the options for the pizza but didn't even get the chance to ask. I'm not even muslim so I'm confused as to why she yelled that in the first place? Was pretty unprofessional.
I called back anyway & asked in french about the differences in the smoke meat pizzas, & was provided the answers I needed, but I'm going to reconsider ordering from here in the future on my next visit.
The pizza's were good, but not worth the hassle.
Edited Review to Owner's Reply: I called on July 26th, at 5:40pm.
My ubereats order was a: 14' Grosse Pizza Spéciale Le Roi.
