I had a very satisfactory meal here. Portions are big! Staff is very friendly.
I had the island bowl & the Bahn mi, both very fresh & delicious.
Amex is not accepted here.
Such a good vermicelli bowl! The chicken was so flavourful & this was a really refreshing meal
We arrived here quite early on a Tuesday evening & there was no other customers leaving us a bit hesitant at first, however we were pleasantly surprised!
We ordered the chicken bun bowl & the banh Tom poutine. The chicken bun bowl was slightly light for our preference but still delicious. The poutine was so good! Perfect amount of vinegary & savoury the perfect viet/Montreal blend, they used yam fries which help keep it light & everything blended so well together :)
The portions were also quite generous, my husband barely managed to finish the chicken bun bowl, & I got very full 1/2 way through the poutine.
Nice hole in the wall spot in old Montreal!
Rly good price for the pho special. We got a big bowl of chicken pho & fried dumplings for 20$. The ambiance of the restaurant was cute & homey, lots of handwritten & homemade posters/decorations. The food tasted good although the soup was pretty salty (to be expected for pho & restaurant foods). There were also options of zucchini noodles instead of rice noodles.
Definitely the decor is by a genZ. A short menu but this means the food is fresh. However, nothing Vietnamese came out of that restaurant. This is a viet restaurant with Westerners adjustments. P.s. small bowl is literally a small baby bowl of noodles.
I think the vibe of this place plays way too in to the "squiggly candle" aesthetic, to the point where the chopsticks are pastel. Am I the key demo? Probably not. The food was mediocre at best. I personally didn't really like the my Bun bowl, the pork meatball patties were strange & had a weird pickled green onion(?) I think on them. Not really a fan. The papaya salad was good, the dressing was nice & tasted fresh. The pho was decent.
Restaurant Review: Le Petit Sao in Old Montreal As a visitor with limited knowledge of French, I was delighted to find that Le Petit Sao in Old Montreal offers both French & English menus. This thoughtful touch made the dining experience more accessible & enjoyable, while I waited for my order. Dishes Ordered: Mama Thi Nems: These crispy Vietnamese spring rolls were a perfect start to the meal. They were filled with a flavorful mixture of ingredients, providing a delightful crunch with every bite. Chicken Bun Bowls: This dish was a delightful mix of grilled chicken, fresh vegetables, & vermicelli noodles, all brought together with a light & tangy sauce. The flavors were well-balanced, making each bite a refreshing experience. Grilled Chicken Pho Soup: Known for being tricky to execute as take-out, Le Petit Sao's Pho was a pleasant surprise. The broth was rich & aromatic, & the grilled chicken added a lovely depth of flavor. Packaging & Take-Out Experience: Le Petit Sao deserves high praise for their take-out service. The packaging was exceptionally well-thought-out & maintained the quality of the food. The Pho, in particular, was packaged to preserve the integrity of the broth, noodles, & fresh herbs, ensuring that it tasted as good as it would if served in the restaurant. Overall, Le Petit Sao in Old Montreal excels in providing delicious Vietnamese cuisine with a take-out service that truly stands out. For those who are not fluent in French, the availability of an English menu is a significant plus. This restaurant is a must-visit for both locals & tourists seeking a great Vietnamese dining experience.
My wife & I were prowling the streets for lunch during a weekday & what pulled my wife towards this place was the neon pink sign that said "Bún Vibes". The place is cozy & very vibrant. You have to order at the counter & then sit. My wife & I ordered the chicken vermicelli bowl & the shredded pork poutine with lemonade & the pandan Jade lemonade. The chicken vermicelli was refreshing. Chicken was savory & everything from the vermicelli, fresh greens, & the fixings complemented each other. The winner was the poutine! It was so good. I'm Chinese Viet & I was honestly impressed by how well this dish was constructed. Right amount of vinegary taste. I don't know how to describe this dish, other than that it was deliciously delightful. A must try. The drinks were a nice palette cleanser & nice end to our meal.
The bowls here are delicious & wholesome. 😋 Nams were excellent too. - Will def come back to taste more of the menu!
Always wanted to try this spot! Absolutely love what they did with the interior, & the food was amazing! Very colourful vermicelli bowls with tasty grilled meats. They also happened to play my favourite genre of music, so it felt personalized by coincidence!
Tried Le Petit Sao for lunch The interior is super cute! Very colorful We tried many items & everything was delicious. The perfect lunch. I Im so in love with their bowls. The chicken is very tasty. They use high quality & fresh ingredients. Very Friendly staff ! Fair prices! I can't wait to go back!!! I highly recommend this place. Follow @ayahayek_ for more on instagram
I'm vegan, my friend is gluten free with many intolerances & our waitress was really sweet about it & made sure everything was ok for us ! She was able to suggest 2 personalized bowls with vegan sauce & she made sure all ingredients were ok according to our diets. Really good experience & the food was tasty:) I'd really like to taste the pho but they use chicken broth tho🥲 so not possible. I'd suggest using veggie broth so the veggie one would actually be vegan:) thanks !
This is a hidden gem in Montreal, espcially in the Old-Port. They are serving traditionnal vietnamese dishes, with a modern twist, & that is exactly why I'm going back for more! Only 7 min walk from Place-d'Armes metro station, the place is beautiful, nice decor & color. Love the staff! Super friendly & helpful. I took : Pandan Ca Phe Sua Da (vietnamese iced coffee with Pandan) Minty Limo (non alchoholic Mojito) Nems from Mama Thi (10/10!!) Grilled Chicken Pho Curry Coco chicken bowl (10/10!) I had a smile on my face for each bite. I can't wait to go back & try their Banh Mis & Bun bowls. P.S. If possible, go there during lunch time (including the weekends), you'll have a spot to seat & fast & quality service!
Delicious, friendly, & quick! I tried the pho, as well as the pad pho bowl, & the fresh spring rolls. All were amazing.
One of my favourite meals I had in Montreal. Food was really good, loved the bowls. Causal & cozy atmosphere, great place to come with a friend.
Amazing, delicious food !
Our office ordered a bunch of bowls & banh mi, & everyone loved it!
Service was great even when a little inconvenience happened, they were able to help us out.
