Merci !
Got their personally curated tasting menu for dinner & it was just ok-not bad but nothing spectacular. The first course was just fish (sea bass) which was under seasoned & overall lacking in flavour. Then the second course with dips & bread came out much later-this should have been the first course. Lamb was ok-again lacking in flavour. The filet mignon was my favourite dish.
We had the fixed lunch here - the food was great & the service was even better - thank you for letting me practice my French..! The cold fennel soup was also delicious.. & we enjoyed their hummus as well. Highly recommended - probably our favorite meal in Montreal yet!
I had heard a lot about this place, & it came highly recommended by some friends. So, I decided to give it a try, but to be honest, it didn't live up to the hype. Initially, I was excited as I browsed the menu & recognized some familiar dishes, but that excitement quickly faded. The menu was missing many of Aleppo's signature dishes, such as Kebbeh Safarjalieh & Kebab Betinjan (aubergine kebab). We started with Yalandji (stuffed vine leaves), which unfortunately were chewy & lacked freshness. The Fattoush was also disappointing, with a very small portion size. After that, we had to wait almost 45 minutes for our main courses; Kebab Khish Khach & Shish Tawouk. Both dishes were underwhelming. The Shish Tawouk came with only one skewer & just a few pieces of bread. We even had to order garlic sauce & fries separately to go with the dish. As someone of Syrian origin, I found the kebab dish particularly lacking in flavor. On the bright side, despite the long wait for our main courses, the service was good, & the staff were friendly. The atmosphere of the place wasn't bad either, but considering the prices, the overall experience fell short in terms of both service level & food quality.
This place was a really great discovery! We went as a group of 6, some of us had been there before, but not me. The waiter recommended that they choose the dishes for us so we can get a taste of everything & we went with that option. One of us was a Celiac & they were able to accommodate the plates & the dishes for him. without a problem! We also weren't sure what to drink & they had a Sommelier that came & recommended wine for us for each of the servings. Both the waiter & Sommelier were super nice, joked with us, had great sense of humor & the food was just Soooo delicious. Every plate was detailed by our waiter to let us know what we were eating & why it was different, where some ingredients came from, etc... everything was just so good & the wine pairings was perfect as well. I can't say I had a favorite dish because everything was so good but also tasted different from the slow cooked lamb, filet mignon, kefka, hummus.. what a feast for the taste buds. Our Celiac friend was able to enjoy it all as well. I will definitely be going back here in the future. The price in the end for sure isn't for everyone, but you can go there & just get a plate, don't need to do what we did & prices were looking fair. I still think that considering all the food we ate & three bottles of wine & some other drinks, the price was really good.
Excellent food & service! The mutabal is phenomenal - I was born & raised in Lebanon & it was nearly identical to what i'm used to. I went yesterday & i'm contemplating going back tomorrow.
This place was exactly what we were looking for! Everyone was so nice & accommodating with English! The food was so delicious as well! This was our second time here & it was just as amazing as we remembered! Can't wait to come back!
Great food, in excellent surroundings. Unique specials weekday afternoons. Ciche kebab terbialy is my favorite dish here. Add appetizers like metabal, or chicken tarator, yummy.
Every plate we got was amazing! Highly recommended! The Yalandji vine leaves & kebab Khach-Khach were my personal favorites.
Delicious lebanese restaurant, everything we tried was great! Would definitely go again
