Restaurant Le Pégase in the popular Le Plateau district is an excellent restaurant offering a fine traditional French cuisine which will seduce you. Le Pégase specializes in a range of gastronomic French delicacies cooked to the perfection. At Le Pegase, you can also bring your own wine ! The decor is of an elegant French Bistro look, the atmosphere is very pleasant and intimate which makes it a very good choice for spending a romantic evening or for a get together with friends, all while feeling you're in France. With a very friendly atmosphere and sumptuous home made specialties you cannot ask for better.
Le Pégase is a charming and cozy hidden gem in Montreal known for its traditional French cuisine and welcoming atmosphere. Guests frequently praise the restaurant for its high-quality, generously portioned set menus that offer exceptional value, making it a favorite for special occasions and regular dining alike. As a bring your own wine establishment, it provides a unique and cost-effective experience that many diners find memorable. While the space is intimate and can become quite lively, the attentive service and consistently delicious dishes, such as the braised beef, duck breast, and signature desserts, ensure that most visitors leave satisfied and eager to return.
A lovely resto with a friendly & unpretentious approach. The value for money is spot on. I would like to see options for vegetarian mains, perhaps it's possible if you make arrangements in advance. I liked that there was a mix of locals & tourists, with everyone given the same attentive service. It's a tad on the loud side as it's a bustling place, but that was fine with us.
A Really Nice French Restaurant! A Wonderful Find for Me Will be Fun to Explore the Rest of the Menu in the Coming Months! I had high expectations when visiting Le Peagase in Montreal, but unfortunately, they were not met. To start, the soup we ordered was extremely bland & watery, failing to impress as a starter. Moving on to the entrees, while the tartare & Profiteroles au boeuf braisé & fromage de chèvre were enjoyable, the black pudding Parmentier left much to be desired. For the main dishes, the rack of lamb & rabbit pasta were average, lacking the special touch that would make them stand out. Although the rabbit pasta sauce was decent, the overall experience fell short of expectations. However, the ribs stood out as the highlight of the meal-well-flavored, tender, & truly enjoyable. On a positive note, the dessert selection was exceptional, with each offering delivering delightful flavors & textures. Additionally, I appreciated the option to bring our own wine, which added to the overall dining experience.
We came here to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday & it is our first time having French cuisine together. Amazing food & experience. You can bring your own wine. Servers are extremely friendly & explained the dishes to us (only French menu is provided). Very affordable prices for a set menu that includes soup/salad, appetizer, main & dessert - they are very generous with portion. Definitely go with an empty stomach & you won't be disappointed!! Will visit here again when we are in Montreal next time. :)
My girlfriend eats there often & hyped the food before we went, thinking she was exaggerating a bit. She didn't hyped it enough because it was simply perfect, from the service to the food, going back next week already & more than exited to try something new!
