I don't think I've ever eaten so well at a wedding before. The chef made us try food that you would never imagine pairing together! (It was a LOTR themed tasting menu) The staff was so nice & attentive to our needs. I couldnt be happier with our experience at this restaurant! We will definitely be back!
This is not your typical dining experience - it's a much more fine dining, haut cuisine night out.
There is a tasting menu that you all follow. Cocktails are very nice. Service is formal & pleasant. All the food comes out promptly, & you are given fresh utensils each time to not spoil the tastes!
You must go with an open mind. I am usually picky but I did enjoy this very much! My least favorite for our menu was the quail, as I found the bones inside unappetizing & hard to maneuvre around.
Highly recommend for the fancy night out.
A Memorable Experience at Le Godot - Excellence & Expertise
My recent visit to Le Godot was a revelation. I opted for the $85 tasting menu, & I must say, it offers excellent value for the money given the refinement of the dishes. Each course was a perfectly orchestrated progression of flavors.
The highlight? The dessert. It was so well-executed & decadent that I couldn't resist ordering a second one. It was a moment of pure bliss.
The experience wouldn't be the same without the quality of the service. Our waiter was the definition of professionalism. Extremely knowledgeable, he explained the menu like a pro, turning the description of each dish into a brief masterclass. His wine recommendations were equally spot-on, offering bold & impeccable pairings.
A Verdun staple that more than lives up to its reputation. I will definitely be back.
If you're looking for Michelin-level technique without the $300 price tag, Le Godot in Verdun is the ultimate'if you know, you know' spot.
Chef Hamzah Ramoly (formerly of Toqué! & high-end Dubai kitchens) is serving a 6-course tasting menu for $85 that is pure gastronomy - think hyper-local produce & phenomenal technical precision. If you prefer a more relaxed vibe, their'Bistronomie' menu offers generous, soulful portions that don't skimp on quality.
What sets them apart is the hospitality; co-owner Harold & front of the house Lucas don't'time-gate' your table, so you can enjoy your wine pairing for one hour or three without feeling rushed.
As a top 5 finalist for MTL à Table, this place is about to blow up. Get a table now before the Michelin star scouts make it impossible to book!
It was bad luck but our experience was probably ruined because of a large group that had their Christmas party. The service (that apparently should've been less than 2 h based on past replies) took more than 3 h…
The food took between 30-40 min to arrive. It happens, but if your waiter doesn't give a heads-up or even apologize upfront for the delay, it makes the experience pretty bad. We called the waiter twice during the dinner & at the end, we were so tired of waiting that we just wanted to skip the dessert & pay the bill to leave. That's when they realized the dessert was missing.
Food was good hut nothing special. Our favorite dish was probably the crab - very unique & pretty. Cod & lamb were ordinary. Portions are on the smaller side but fair for a tasting menu.
We were pretty excited to try this place, since we didn't have the chance to try their MTLatable menu. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience & I hope they do improve in the future for other people.
The food was good overall, & the service was great. However, a few details took away from the experience. The scallop dish tasted quite fishy, which was disappointing given the otherwise solid flavors.
The main reason for the lower rating is the tasting menu policy. The restaurant offers two different tasting menu options, but everyone at the table has to choose the same one. This wasn't mentioned anywhere in advance, & it felt a bit misleading - especially since the online description made it seem like each person could pick their own.
Additionally, the restaurant is listed as part of the American Express MTL à la table program, but they don't actually accept American Express. Again, something that should have been communicated upfront.
Overall, great service & good food, but a few kinks to work out in terms of transparency & menu flexibility.
Our recent dining experience at Le Godot was nothing short of incredible. We opted for the tasting menu, & from the moment we started with a cocktail, it was clear we were in for a treat.
Before diving into the menu, we kicked things off with a cocktail that perfectly set the tone for the meal
Le Godot's tasting menu was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Each course was thoughtfully crafted, both flavor & presentation. For the price, you honestly can't beat the value this is high-level dining that doesn't break the bank. Every dish felt balanced, & we left completely satisfied, both in terms of food & the overall experience.
We'll definitely be returning to Le Godot. It's one of those spots where you leave knowing you've experienced something special & the fact that it's in Verdun only makes it more of a hidden gem.
The service was exemplary!!
Food was absolutely unreal. I've tasted some delicious stuff in my life & I have to say, this was among some of the best bites I've ever had. However, they were definitely bites, very small. But each dish flowed phenomenally into the next, & each definitely left you wanting more, some even making me want to lick the dish clean. Absolutely delicious food, however I did leave hungry. Service was phenomenal. Good drinks & wine, even the dessert was delicious & light. I found the price of the tasting menu reasonable for the quality of food, even if I left hungry which I why I rate this place a 5 star. I'll be back for everything I had tonight, but especially for the scallops, the quail, the shrimp & the steak. Wow. The best steak I've ever had & that's saying a lot. Sometimes people say'it melts in your mouth' but this steak literally did. Cut like butter. Thank you Karen for the recommendation & thank you guys for a great meal & service. We will be back ! If all I have to say if I wish I had more, I am leaving happy regardless.
Loved the tasting menu! Service was amazing. Will definitely come back. It was a pleasure to meet the owner & chat with him.
