Butterblume is a restaurant located in Mile End in Montreal. It's a perfect meeting point between all the neighborhoods (or almost!) for lunch, an aperitif, or for dinner. Whether on site or to take-our (visit our grocery store, right next door!)
Daily fresh bread (homemade!), soups, salads, light meals, sweets and a fine selection of wines, beers, cocktails.
Le Butterblume is described as bright and lively with a seasonal menu and a standout brunch that draws a crowd. Many reviews praise the use of high end ingredients, the beautiful presentation of dishes like ravioli and brioche, and the open kitchen with attentive service. There are remarks about portions varying, with some brunch portions being generous and others noting that certain dishes like gnocchi can feel heavy or that some smaller plates leave you wanting more. Prices are often described as high and sometimes not worth the value given the portion sizes, with some diners leaving satisfied and others disappointed. Noise level is frequently noted as high when the place is busy, though the atmosphere is described as warm and convivial with friendly staff. The brunch and seasonal ingredients receive many positive notes, with compliments on coffee, bread, and creative combinations, while a few critics feel certain flavors lack balance or fail to rise above home cooking. Overall, impressions range from solid to exceptional, highlighting strong service and a vibrant setting while acknowledging room for refinement in flavor balance and pricing.
You are getting high quality, fresh & local food. Yes the price is high because that is the cost for fresh real food. The menu changes constantly reflecting whats available & in season. Those complaining about lack of taste, high price & long wait should go eat at large & cheap commercial chains where half the menu is frozen & just needs to be microwaved thus faster service. Butterblume dont ever change.
Lovely brunch spot with delicious mushroom toast! Seasonal menu so loads of fresh local ingredients in the summer & lots of squash in fall. Their bread is delicious! It is bright & good for a group since they take reservations.

Start your morning on a decadent note: pillowy blini layered with tarragon-infused salmon rillettes, topped with a luscious soy-marinated egg. Crisp iceberg lettuce, tangy pickled cucumber, & a silky romaine cream bring freshness to every bite, a brunch that balances comfort, elegance, & pure indulgence. 😊
We visited this restaurant for lunch with family. The cheerful outside decor was welcoming. We were greeted & acknowledged fairly quickly. We had reservations but there was a bit of a wait. It was busy but it had a warm, lively & organic ambience. Everything went smoothly. Everything we ordered was quite fresh & delicious & the portion sizes were good. The kids had the French toast & loved it! We had the lentil soup & the Spanish tortilla along with drinks. Overall we were quite happy & the staff were friendly. Thank you! Merci!
Had a delightful lunch here! The mushroom soup with sourdough bread was fantastic-perfect for a chilly January day. The red wine short rib was incredibly tender with a deliciously crunchy crust-easily the best I've ever had. Fair warning: it's a very filling dish! We also tried the beet, fennel, & citrus toast, which was absolutely amazing. The service was great & incredibly attentive, making the experience even better. This is what happens when culinary skill meets fresh ingredients. Truly enjoyed the experience & will definitely be back!
We had a charming & delightful brunch experience at @lebutterblume_mtl. A cute & lively destination, offering brunch on Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays that is sure to impress. The periodically changing menu at Le Butterblume is a testament to creativity, featuring intricate & innovative dishes showcasing fresh ingredients that burst with flavor. We especially enjoyed the pumpkin burnt cheesecake-a delightful sweet dish that perfectly encapsulates the flavors of the season. Rich & creamy, with a beautifully charred top that added a depth of flavor. The spiced caramel cream infused each bite with warm, inviting spices. It was topped with sweet & salty pumpkin seeds that provided a wonderful crunch & balance, & a buttery crumble enhancing the flavor profile of the dish. The salmon & spinach feuilleté beautifully combined flaky pastry with rich, tender salmon & vibrant spinach. Covered with a creamy béchamel sauce & a perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg. During our visit, we were pleasantly surprised by the super-fast & friendly service. We were in & out within just 40 minutes, which is a remarkable feat considering the quality & attention to detail in each dish. The staff was attentive & welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere that made our brunch even more enjoyable.
I've known this restaurant for years & I love the dishes. Very well executed & tasty, with fresh ingredients. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal. The dishes are small compared to other places in town, but the quality is second to none. One of the best beff tartare I've ever tried.

Went here for brunch this weekend & the one server was excellent! She was very professional, & helpful towards the small children at our table. Other servers (as we were a big group) were a bit slow & missed bringing me my drink for a while. The mimosas with fresh orange juice were delicious. Nice ambiance. However I ordered the poached egg with asparagus & it was not worth the money. At that price I expected double the amount of food that was on the plate, & the flavours left something to be desired.
Went there for brunch. Delicious meal & delicious ingredients! Everything is so fresh & tasty. Would definitely go back. ++ the carrot & orange juice !!!
This was one of my favourite restaurants on my trip through quebec.
The rhubarb cocktail was the best cocktail ive ever had. Coffee is amazing.
Food was fantastic. We got the fresh made cheese & the pork schnitzel for dinner. Would absolutely come again.
