Review Summary

Le Butterblume is described as bright and lively with a seasonal menu and a standout brunch that draws a crowd. Many reviews praise the use of high end ingredients, the beautiful presentation of dishes like ravioli and brioche, and the open kitchen with attentive service. There are remarks about portions varying, with some brunch portions being generous and others noting that certain dishes like gnocchi can feel heavy or that some smaller plates leave you wanting more. Prices are often described as high and sometimes not worth the value given the portion sizes, with some diners leaving satisfied and others disappointed. Noise level is frequently noted as high when the place is busy, though the atmosphere is described as warm and convivial with friendly staff. The brunch and seasonal ingredients receive many positive notes, with compliments on coffee, bread, and creative combinations, while a few critics feel certain flavors lack balance or fail to rise above home cooking. Overall, impressions range from solid to exceptional, highlighting strong service and a vibrant setting while acknowledging room for refinement in flavor balance and pricing.

& interesting take on a cinnamon bun, it was more pull-apart like a croissant which was quite satisfying to eat. If you are are looking for a classic cinnamon bun you will be disappointed (especially by the royal icing which is quite sweet & dry) but expectations aide I would eat it again. The sourdough bread was also unxpectedly mellow in flavour but had a phenomenal texture & made an excellent grilled cheese sandwich.

I had a reservation at 1pm, but the restaurant was so busy & hectic that I had to wait another 25m to be seated. Since I was a single person, I was seated at the bar where you can see the kitchen in full view & watch everything be prepared. So while the restaurant looks cool, it was also loud. So it's not a peaceful lunch spot. But it was on a Saturday.

However I found the service to be great, because of the delay they served me a drink & coffee without charge. I found all the staff to be pretty attentive & quick as well.

Overall satisfied with the food. I had a savory & sweet leek & cheese bread-cake, along with a separate plate of gravlax that leaned sour & salty. They paired well together. Most of the menu isn't actually a full main meal, so I'd expect to order 2 different things to feel full & satisfied.

Lovely brunch spot with delicious mushroom toast! Seasonal menu so loads of fresh local ingredients in the summer & lots of squash in fall. Their bread is delicious! It is bright & good for a group since they take reservations.

Great service & atmosphere, but the food was not worth the price. The menu looks interesting with cool flavor combinations but none of them actually turned out special at all. The eggplant tartine had bread that was too thick & large & covered the delicate flavors on top. The ravioli with chicken dashi soup didnt have a great texture & the main element that should have balanced it out (the dashi soup) didnt have any strong flavor & so the overall effect is a bad mix of textures without any standout flavors. The only thing we liked was the brioche, but even that wasnt all that impressive either. & the cocktails were similarly mediocre: the espresso martini was light brown with the taste of coffee barely present & was overall watered down. Overall an okay meal but wouldn't come again considering we ended up paying $115 for two meals, two cocktails, a brioche entree & the tip.

Had a delightful lunch here! The mushroom soup with sourdough bread was fantastic-perfect for a chilly January day. The red wine short rib was incredibly tender with a deliciously crunchy crust-easily the best I've ever had. Fair warning: it's a very filling dish! We also tried the beet, fennel, & citrus toast, which was absolutely amazing. The service was great & incredibly attentive, making the experience even better. This is what happens when culinary skill meets fresh ingredients. Truly enjoyed the experience & will definitely be back!
