Le Blueboy stands out for a retro vibe and a colorful, inventive lineup of ice creams, sorbets, sundaes, and treats like beignets and churros. Reviewers praise the vibrant flavors, the freshness of ingredients, the friendly and quick service, and a lively atmosphere that makes it a popular stop on Mont Royal. Favorites mentioned include mango sorbet, mojito sorbet, the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae, tiramisu ice cream, and guava based options, with many noting that flavors are refreshing and well balanced. There are occasional critiques of price value, sweetness level, or flavor balance, and some items such as a brownie in a sundae or certain sorbets receiving mixed opinions. A few comments point to long waits, limited indoor seating, and restrooms that could use attention, but the overall impression remains that the shop is charming and worth a visit for dessert lovers.
Such delicious soft serve ice cream! Le Blueboy has really creative flavors & sundae combinations along with other sweets like churros & beignets. We had the Le Shortcake Sundae, which had a really good amount of the creamiest vanilla ice cream, a few squares of spongy shortcake, sweet strawberry compote, & a crunchy crumble topping. If you want the freshest ice cream in Montreal, Le Blueboy should be on your list!
Cute little shop with a retro vibe. Interesting seasonal flavours & sundaes. Service was friendly. Loved my plantain sundae. Found it on the pricey side, but would likely go back.
Holy crêpes, Montreal! I just had an experience at Le BlueBoy on Mount Royal Street that has permanently etched itself into the annals of my dessert-loving soul. & when I say'etched,' I mean like a diamond-tipped ice cream scoop carving pure joy into the very fabric of my being.
I walked in, a mere mortal with a craving, & I left... well, I practically floated out on a cloud of strawberry-scented ecstasy, propelled by the sheer force of deliciousness. My weapon of choice? The Strawberry Shortcake Sundae. Oh, the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae! It wasn't just a sundae; it was a symphony, a ballet, a full-blown Cirque du Soleil show for my taste buds.
First, the ice cream. Le BlueBoy, you magnificent artisanal wizards, what sorcery is this? It was so creamy, so perfectly sweet, it felt like tiny, happy unicorns were tap-dancing on my tongue. & the strawberry shortcake bits? Not just an afterthought, my friends. These were plump, juicy, scarlet jewels of perfection, nestled amongst pillowy clouds of what I can only assume was whipped cream spun by angels.
Each spoonful was a revelation. A delightful dance between the cool, refreshing ice cream & the burst of fresh strawberry, all harmonized by the subtle, comforting embrace of the shortcake. I might have shed a single, perfect tear of pure, unadulterated happiness. Or maybe it was just a little whipped cream on my eyelash. Either way, it was glorious.
The staff? They were practically radiating good vibes, like they knew they were serving up pure happiness in a cup. I half expected them to break into a synchronized soft-serve dance number. (Which, by the way, I would have *absolutely* paid extra to see.)
So, if you're wandering down Mount Royal Street & your inner dessert-fiend starts to rumble, do yourself a monumental favor. Don't walk, *skip* to Le BlueBoy. Get the Strawberry Shortcake Sundae. & prepare to have your life irrevocably improved, one glorious, hilarious, & utterly delicious spoonful at a time. I'm already planning my next visit, & I might just bring a change of clothes because I anticipate another spontaneous eruption of pure joy. Bravo, Le BlueBoy, bravo!
I've been seeing this place all over Instagram, so gave it a shot & I'm glad I did! I got the Mangonada sundae & I really enjoyed the soft serve ice cream itself with the tajín. The combination of toppings like the compote & strawberries was delicious, but you need to build your bites carefully otherwise you end up with too much compote or tajín at the end. The tamarin candy also got a bit too hard.
I would definitely go back for the soft serve twist Mangue & Melon d'Eau Fraise on it's own; it was very refreshing!
Truly amazing ice creams & sherbets!
This place is a hidden gem located right on Mt. Royal Avenue, surrounded by lots of charming shops & a lively atmosphere. We tried the Tiramisu Sundae, Tiger's Blood, & Maguey Sherbet-each one was absolutely delicious & packed with flavor. The tiramisu sundae was rich & creamy, the tiger's blood was a bold burst of fruity goodness, & the maguey sherbet had a unique, refreshing twist. Everything tasted fresh & well-crafted. If you're exploring the area, this spot is a must-visit for any dessert lover!
We visited Le Blueboy after hearing a lot of positive things about it. It was a weekend night, & as expected, the place was busy. Even so, we waited more than 10 minutes before a lady came to serve us. I have to say, the menu was pretty overwhelming, there were so many options, but without any pictures to help guide us, it became quite confusing. I found myself unsure of what to order, so I asked the employee for suggestions. The only thing I was sure about was the beignes since I saw a picture & ordered them right away. We also decided to try the Oreo milkshake, Les Tailles churros sundae with solo flavor (we swapped caramel salé for choco caramel), & the Fresa shortcake. The Halloween themed decorations added a nice touch to the atmosphere, & the service was friendly. But let's talk about the taste. Overall, I found the prices fair compared to similar places I've visited. I absolutely fell in love with the Orleans style beignes. they were soft, freshly made right in front of us, & just delicious. The milkshake was also really enjoyable, rich with Oreo flavor. However, the churros sundae was a bit of a letdown, good, but not particularly special. The churros themselves were on par with what you'd get at many other places, & the sundae didn't stand out for me. The Fresa shortcake was decent, but again, I wasn't too impressed by it. In hindsight, I wish I had gone for the sorbet Tiger's Blood, it seemed like a more unique option that might have given me a different experience. Despite this, overall, it was a good visit, & I'd definitely come back specifically for the beignes, which were the highlight of the night. I just hope they revamp their menu style so that it's easier to navigate, making it quicker for people to figure out what they want without feeling lost.
Not a good experience. I got the Oreo sundae because it looked amazing & I LOVE Oreo ice cream. It was, unfortunately, a letdown. The soft serve was too cold with ice crystals & was thin tasting, nothing at all like the rich, custardy soft serve I've always enjoyed in this city. The Oreo "dust" is a big mistake- adds only an unpleasant sandy texture to the sundae. Finally, this came to something like $10.45 & I handed the employee a 20 & a loonie, hoping to get back a 10 & the change that I'd put in the "pour boire" cup. She pushed me back the loonie & then gave me a five with a pile of change, which I was trying to avoid with the first combination! I asked her to please give me a 10 after I gave her a five, two toonies & a loonie, & she said she couldn't open the register back up. WHY DID SHE DO THIS? No apology for what was her mistake.

I went to Blueboy this week & I wanted to share my expereince because it was a delight! I came with some friends because we saw their Platano Sundae announced on Instagam & we wanted to try it! When you go in, the ambiance of the place is just so summery & a little 60's nostalgic, & the music they were playing was really good! We were taken care of by two guys who were just so attentive, they answered our questions & guided us through the menu with attention to detail & were happy to re-explain stuff we did not understand. I got the platano sundae & it met expectations, the ice cream is so creamy & the caramel sauce was so good (I wish I could buy it separately). The staff was so nice, they even indulged us with a little chat while finishing our order, the mexican guy was so attentive, & always smiling, it honestly is a contagious mood! & my friends also told me the colombian one was really nice to them! It honestly is a very refreshing change of pace from most food places where all employees look miserable to be there, these guys were laughing with us, smiling all the way, all while doing a great job!! Blueboy should be proud of its staff, & their delicious ice creams! I'm definitely coming back to try the Mangonada that the staff recommended!
The plátano sundae was amazing. The atmosphere was very nice with Spanish music & nice comfortable seating. The guy who took our orders was very nice too. The only thing I think could improve is perhaps having another employee taking orders. The poor boy who was working there was a bit overwhelmed, & it took a long time for every person in our group to get their order. But overall a great place to go for some fun ice cream! Also, my friends say that the milkshakes were good too :)
