View more
Brisket tasted like Jesus's sandal & the macaroni & cheese was a sloppy watery mess, however the Smoked beans were genuinely life changing. I can go on & on & on about how delicious these beans were, I am honestly considering bringing my partner just to eat a bunch of beans. The poor patrons that night haha!View more
Horrible service!! Reserved for 2 at 6pm, arrived at 5:58, only to receive our food after an hour & a half, when tables who arrived after us received their order around 7pm. We had to call the waitress twice, & obviously they completely forgot our order.
Beef ribs were burnt & super salty on the outside, but bland to no taste in the inside. Brisket was okay, tender & at least evenly salty, but that's it, no other flavor. The only flavorful thing was the mac & cheese.
Also, during our entire visit, our cup didn't get refilled not even once, I was so thirsty at the end that I started eating ice :)
Not worth the visit.View more
I'm not entirely sure what the hype is about with this place.
The service was okay, but there were no menus - instead, the staff just listed off the available options, which felt a bit disorganized. As for the food, it left a lot to be desired. There was no sauce provided at the table for the meat, which seemed odd. The coleslaw was basically just chopped lettuce without any dressing, & the mac & cheese was dry & had a grainy texture. The baked beans were the most enjoyable part of the meal, but not enough to make me want to return.
*quick note too, the couple sitting behind us weren't even able to eat the food because they said the meat smelled off so I believe they didn't pay for anything & left...
If you're looking for a solid BBQ experience, I'd recommend checking out Fatboys in Ottawa ;)View more
Absolutely amazing BBQ! The beef brisket & beef rib were both incredible - juicy, tender, & full of smoky flavor. Easily some of the best I've had in Canada. The sides were great too, especially the baked beans & mac & cheese. Portions are generous & perfect for sharing. Great vibes, friendly staff, & worth every penny. A must-visit for any BBQ lover in Montreal!View more
This is the spot yo, absoloutely fantastic the servers were courteous & knowledgeable, the owner was awesome, & the food was absoloutely phenomenal - beef rib, brisket & chicken, sides of Mac n cheese & coleslaw. Marg was top notch. When I come back, I'm making a point to go here everytime!View more
Food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The smoke ring on the brisket & ribs was the biggest I've seen. Super tender meat. That beef rib was so tender & buttery!! Highly recommend the coleslaw, a nice acidic bite after the meat is refreshing. The Mack & cheese was ok but the amazing BBQ overshadows EVERYTHING. Service is a bit delayed & no one really checks in to see if you need another drink etc but again the amazing food overshadows everything.View more
Went today for my birthday & the service was great, offered me two shots of rum. I took the brisket platter with two sides. First customers in the door so the meat was as fresh as possible. Brisket alone deserve the 5 stars, the sides are only there to fill the plate though, the beans & mac & cheese were not to my taste. But lets be real, I was only there for the meat & I was not disappointed.View more
I got a plate recommended by the chef. It had ribs, pulled pork, coleslaw, baked beans, & mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese is a little bit spicy, but not too much, just enough. It had a very pleasant texture & a very nice cheesy taste, with just enough heat. The ribs were coated in a rich, tangy sauce that really brought out the smoky flavour, they were very tender & an absolute delight. The pulled pork was also absolutely divine. Hands down the best I've had so far. I can't recommend this place enough. It's absolutely worth the trip.View more
We went to Lattuca with 5 of my boys & it was so amazing. There were 3 meats included in our order: beef ribs, pork ribs, briskets, beans, mac n cheese, & coleslaw for 34$. It is very delicious food. Definitely, I'll be back .View more
Who knew I had to go to Montreal to get the best barbecue in my life. The meat is so tender, consistent, flavorful & just so perfect. Server was a sweetheart, we got downpoured on towards the end of dinner but everyone was so helpful. The sides leave a bit to be desired in my opinion. Mac & cheese tastes mostly of noodle, Coleslaw was meh, beans were just ok (taste like Busch's). The meat however was fantasticView more
We dined here on Saturday April 27, 2024 around 6PM. Had made a reservation since the website strongly suggested this. The restaurant is small & fills up fast. Located in the heart of Old Port, this small joint offers a simple menu of bbq meats & sides. There is only beef ribs, porc ribs, pulled pork, brisket & smoked chicken, served with your choice of mac & cheese, coleslaw & baked beans. There are no appetizers & no desserts - however there is a cocktail & drinks menu. I do find it odd that the food menu is not posted on the website, nor on their social media. I saw some outdated photos of the menu other customers posted. The only place to see a physical menu is on the outside of the restaurant itself, otherwise once seated, there is nothing printed & the server will be the one to talk through the options. My partner & I opted for the beef ribs (there is an extra $7 for this option), pork ribs & smoked chicken. The meats were all very tender but lacked flavor - as if there was not enough seasonong or sauce. We had sides of mac & cheese & coleslaw. The food was very good, but not amazind & expensive for around $40 a person to start with plus the surchage for beef ribs. Cocktails were around $17. Very pricy dinner, for this, I expected larger portions, I found the Texas bbq experience to be lacking despite the website claiming this is Texas style. They surely do not serve American sized portions. I am a slim female with a healthy appetite & was disappointed in the lack of food, especially for the sides. There are maybe 3 or 4 bites of coleslaw or mac & cheese in each serving, yet these are the cheapest foods I don't understand why they couldn't be more generous. The time it took to prepare the food & serve us was also puzzling. We arrived when the restaurant just opened & were among the first to order yet waited probably a good half hour or more before our food arrived. The meats are all cooked in advance & I suspect the sides were as well - as we overheard a server mentioning the food is smoked in St-Eustache which is North, outside the island of Montreal. There are no smokers on site at this restaurant. I am glad I tried this place as there is a shortage of great BBQ within Montreal - however due to the portion size, slow service, price & location I would not come back. Unfortunately there is no parking nearby so be ready to pay upwards of $25-$30 for a paid parking lot, or take public transit if you can.View more
(2024) Last year we visited Lattuca & it was so amazing we came back this year. It's still incredible, maybe even better somehow. We ordered the share plate & got 1 of everything (5 meats), chicken, beef rib, pork rib, brisket, pulled pork, & the beans, mac n cheese, & coleslaw. Everything is incredibly delicious & perfectly cooked. The service was stellar, & the atmosphere was great. Well probably be back in 2025. 🍖 (2023) One of the best BBQ I've had in a long time. The brisket, beef rib, pulled pork & chicken were incredible. The sides were also amazing. The beans were incredibly delicious & the coleslaw was refreshing. My wife says the Mac n Cheese was one of the best she's had. I'll be coming back if I'm ever in Montreal again!View more
Best Mac & cheese in the city. Everything here is amazing. Our waiter, Fayza was one of the best ive ever had. Would recommend to everyone looking for good bbqView more
Great atmosphere. Book to get a good spot, back tables are not nice. Atmosphere is lively. Brisket & mac n cheese was super delicious & resounably priced but the portion size is not impressive. Parking is a challenge (same case for all other places in old Montreal). All in all I will definitely repeat.View more
Lattuca Barbecue is not to be missed when visiting Montréal. We found the restaurant when visiting a while ago. Now, when we visit the city, we plan our time around when we can have great barbecue. When you walk in to the restaurant there are exposed beams with tables, benches, & chairs. The center of the restaurant is where the barbecue is cut when ordered & placed on trays with the sides. The food is US Southern style with options including brisket, beef ribs, pulled pork, chicken. The sides are smoked baked beans, mac n' cheese, & coleslaw. The food is cooked to perfection; flavorfully amazing & absolutely worth going. A a lot of love & passion is put into the food & it shows. You will leave happy & full. Sitting down for dinner in the restaurant is relaxed & feels like returning home to have family dinner. Owner, John Lattuca, despite having a full house, always makes time to chat at length with his guests. Even though we only make it to Montréal once or twice a year, he always remembers us. It is like old friends continuing an endless conversation. Although you can go without reservations, I would recommend making a reservation.View more
I reserved a table for 6 at Lattuca BBQ & I was so happy & looking forward to go & eat this supposly very good Pitmaster. So dissatisfied it's not even close to what I hate or tried in other smokehouse or BBQ joint. The pulled pork was full of fat. The pork ribs there was one little piece as you can see in the pictures. The brisket was good but portion were very small. The best piece of meat was the beef rib that's why I gave it 2*. Sides were limited to 3 choices. Baked beens coleslaw & very little portion of mac n cheese. No fries & nothing else. I found it pricy on top of it all. I had heard some good things about the place. But the end result was very deceiving. I would think twice if I would of known this before. Don't waste your money go somewhere else. BtW the menu you see on the website is not updated / not good anymore (does not update the menu) & no menus at the restaurant either. PS owner M.Lattuca had no carisma unfriendly & lacking interpersonal skills. I've seen owners make you feel very welcomed in their restaurant, but this guy, needs to work on his skills set in all areas!!!! Happy Birthday to meView more
Great BBQ!! The beef ribs are bigger than you'll find at just about any BBQ joint! The pulled pork, pork ribs & brisket is great too! Don't forget to order the mac & cheese! All the food is good that I made a point to come back a 2nd time while I'm over here from Minnesota! It's a good idea to make a reservation earlier in the day so they know you're comingView more
Visiting Montreal from Australia & was craving some American BBQ. Lattuca did not disappoint. Decent servings of meat with multiple options. Side options included Coleslaw, smoked beans plus Mac n cheese. Worth the visit! Beers are cold, plenty of other drink options. Thanks for the great hospitality.View more
My partner & I eat a lot of BBQ, we are always trying BBQ wherever we travel. We've never had as good or possibly better BBQ than what we get at home in California, until now. We had the pulled pork, pork ribs, & brisket at Lattuca with mac n cheese. Everything was delicious, flavorful, & tender. My partner said it may be the best brisket he's ever had.View more
Best barbeque in Quebec! The most delicious pork & beef ribs, brisket, pulled pork & chicken. The meats are absolute show-stoppers & mouth-watering! You'll even be delighted by the sides - amazing Mac n cheese, beans & coleslaw. Fantastic & quick service too We absolutely love coming here! Hats off to the Chef!View more
Merci beaucoup John !View more
Les côtés levées étaient incroyables . Les meilleurs que j’ai mangée ! Mac & cheese excellent aussi je recommande fortementView more
The Brisket & pulled pork was worth the drive into the city. The meats was tender, flavourful & good portions. The Mac & cheese was okay, the coleslaw was good just needed a bit more. The Beef Ribs was insanely large & delicious 🤤.View more
I had the beef rib & pork ribs & the wife had the chicken & brisket. Sides were Mac n cheese, beans & coleslaw. Simply put, the BEST BBQ in Montreal! I’ve lived in FL & eaten BBQ across every state in the south including the famous Salt Lick BBQ in Austin,TX & I can assure you that this place is the real deal! 10/10View more
Good bbq! Liked it a lot. & the Mac&, cheese too. The service could really improve, not even a busy night.View more
View more
We ordered 2 plates, 2 cocktails, 2 soft drinks, & one side. It came out to about $130 all in. Very expensive IMO, but that could be just because it's a touristy area.
The sides available were
- baked beans, which were regular, with bbq sauce
- coleslaw, which more vinergary than creamy. I was a fan.
- mac & cheese, which tasted fine, but was a little grainy. Kids did not enjoy it
We chose chicken & brisket.
The chicken was super tender & flavourful, though I think for the price there prob should have been more.
The brisket was excellent. Amongst the best I've ever eaten.
Overall, pleasant, though expensive. I would return.View more
