The menu is verbal only which is fine since it's so simple. The brisket was a bit dry but the pulled pork & pork rib were really good! The service was very fast & the sides were good.View more

Both ribs (beef & porc) were really amazing. By far the best I had in town. The sides, the pulled pork & the service however are really not as good (service a bit slow with no water refill, pork a little dry & lacking flavour other than smoked). Id definitely go again for those awesome ribs though, they are truly top quality.View more

I got a plate recommended by the chef. It had ribs, pulled pork, coleslaw, baked beans, & mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese is a little bit spicy, but not too much, just enough. It had a very pleasant texture & a very nice cheesy taste, with just enough heat. The ribs were coated in a rich, tangy sauce that really brought out the smoky flavour, they were very tender & an absolute delight. The pulled pork was also absolutely divine. Hands down the best I've had so far. I can't recommend this place enough. It's absolutely worth the trip.View more

We went to Lattuca with 5 of my boys & it was so amazing. There were 3 meats included in our order: beef ribs, pork ribs, briskets, beans, mac n cheese, & coleslaw for 34$. It is very delicious food. Definitely, I'll be back .View more

While it's great to boast about being a World Champion of Brisket, there is a difference in being experts in competitions (food for few) vs restaurants (food for masses) . The pulled pork was overdone to the point of being mush & unappetizing. The chicken was tender but the flavor didn't hit the mark. The brisket had a great texture but was on the salty side. Portion sizes are not in line with the price but you are in the tourist side of the island & you're paying for an "experience". I was disappointed that the drinks weren't homemade & watched our waitress pour our lemonade from a premade store bottle. The positive to the evening was our waitress who was delightful, friendly & quick. This restaurant has what it takes to up its game, & I wish it continued success.View more

We dined here on Saturday April 27, 2024 around 6PM. Had made a reservation since the website strongly suggested this. The restaurant is small & fills up fast. Located in the heart of Old Port, this small joint offers a simple menu of bbq meats & sides. There is only beef ribs, porc ribs, pulled pork, brisket & smoked chicken, served with your choice of mac & cheese, coleslaw & baked beans. There are no appetizers & no desserts - however there is a cocktail & drinks menu. I do find it odd that the food menu is not posted on the website, nor on their social media. I saw some outdated photos of the menu other customers posted. The only place to see a physical menu is on the outside of the restaurant itself, otherwise once seated, there is nothing printed & the server will be the one to talk through the options. My partner & I opted for the beef ribs (there is an extra $7 for this option), pork ribs & smoked chicken. The meats were all very tender but lacked flavor - as if there was not enough seasonong or sauce. We had sides of mac & cheese & coleslaw. The food was very good, but not amazind & expensive for around $40 a person to start with plus the surchage for beef ribs. Cocktails were around $17. Very pricy dinner, for this, I expected larger portions, I found the Texas bbq experience to be lacking despite the website claiming this is Texas style. They surely do not serve American sized portions. I am a slim female with a healthy appetite & was disappointed in the lack of food, especially for the sides. There are maybe 3 or 4 bites of coleslaw or mac & cheese in each serving, yet these are the cheapest foods I don't understand why they couldn't be more generous. The time it took to prepare the food & serve us was also puzzling. We arrived when the restaurant just opened & were among the first to order yet waited probably a good half hour or more before our food arrived. The meats are all cooked in advance & I suspect the sides were as well - as we overheard a server mentioning the food is smoked in St-Eustache which is North, outside the island of Montreal. There are no smokers on site at this restaurant. I am glad I tried this place as there is a shortage of great BBQ within Montreal - however due to the portion size, slow service, price & location I would not come back. Unfortunately there is no parking nearby so be ready to pay upwards of $25-$30 for a paid parking lot, or take public transit if you can.View more

(2024) Last year we visited Lattuca & it was so amazing we came back this year. It's still incredible, maybe even better somehow. We ordered the share plate & got 1 of everything (5 meats), chicken, beef rib, pork rib, brisket, pulled pork, & the beans, mac n cheese, & coleslaw. Everything is incredibly delicious & perfectly cooked. The service was stellar, & the atmosphere was great. Well probably be back in 2025. 🍖 (2023) One of the best BBQ I've had in a long time. The brisket, beef rib, pulled pork & chicken were incredible. The sides were also amazing. The beans were incredibly delicious & the coleslaw was refreshing. My wife says the Mac n Cheese was one of the best she's had. I'll be coming back if I'm ever in Montreal again!View more

Decent bbq considering limited options in Montreal but nothing to write home about. Took the sampler plate which was generous, best piece was the beef rib. Rest was OK at most (pulled pork, brisket, chicken). Sides were boring (beans, macNcheese, slaw - no cornbread , collard greens, etc...) Now for service, we sat outside & think the waitress forgot about us. Took forever to take our orders. Didn't clear the table when we were done. Asked for extra bbq sauce which never came. Restaurant was not packed at all. Not rude or anything, just not attentive. Overall, not a memorable experience.View more

Husband & I came here for dinner last night- overall, had a good experience. Food was really good, particularly the pork ribs & chicken (brisket was a bit dry). Beans were phenomenal- a pleasant surprise! Menu & service were a bit lackluster for a few reasons- their menu exists only on a blackboard in the restaurant that shows pricing for option of 1, 2 or 3 meats along with choice of sides. However, when we placed our order, it sounded like you can't order a 2 meat platter & just share between the two of us. The way the server explained it sounded like they charge based on # of person & quantity. We overheard one table settling their bill when we arrived & they were confused with the charges while another large group just got seated & they were also very confused with how pricing worked (server told them each person would have to pay $43 for a table of 6). Service was also quite a bit slow to take our drinks orders (we had been seated for abt 15 mins). Bottom line, would recommend the restaurant for their food but the ordering & service experience is a bit confusing/turn off.View more

Came here multiple times, giving 3 stars out of respect of the other times that I came & actually enjoyed it but can't say the same for this last one. Pulled pork was ok, a bit dry compared to usual, sides were good but the beef brisket didn't meet expectations, really burned & chewy. In two we paid 70$ each with tip & taxes, overpriced seeing the quality on that day. Seems like the owner was meeting friends so he stayed standing right next to my table for the whole dinner chatting with them, not a fun of eating while having someone's bum on my face, as a restaurant owner he should know better, hopefully it was just a slip up but I don't think I'll be back.View more

Lattuca Barbecue is not to be missed when visiting Montréal. We found the restaurant when visiting a while ago. Now, when we visit the city, we plan our time around when we can have great barbecue. When you walk in to the restaurant there are exposed beams with tables, benches, & chairs. The center of the restaurant is where the barbecue is cut when ordered & placed on trays with the sides. The food is US Southern style with options including brisket, beef ribs, pulled pork, chicken. The sides are smoked baked beans, mac n' cheese, & coleslaw. The food is cooked to perfection; flavorfully amazing & absolutely worth going. A a lot of love & passion is put into the food & it shows. You will leave happy & full. Sitting down for dinner in the restaurant is relaxed & feels like returning home to have family dinner. Owner, John Lattuca, despite having a full house, always makes time to chat at length with his guests. Even though we only make it to Montréal once or twice a year, he always remembers us. It is like old friends continuing an endless conversation. Although you can go without reservations, I would recommend making a reservation.View more

I reserved a table for 6 at Lattuca BBQ & I was so happy & looking forward to go & eat this supposly very good Pitmaster. So dissatisfied it's not even close to what I hate or tried in other smokehouse or BBQ joint. The pulled pork was full of fat. The pork ribs there was one little piece as you can see in the pictures. The brisket was good but portion were very small. The best piece of meat was the beef rib that's why I gave it 2*. Sides were limited to 3 choices. Baked beens coleslaw & very little portion of mac n cheese. No fries & nothing else. I found it pricy on top of it all. I had heard some good things about the place. But the end result was very deceiving. I would think twice if I would of known this before. Don't waste your money go somewhere else. BtW the menu you see on the website is not updated / not good anymore (does not update the menu) & no menus at the restaurant either. PS owner M.Lattuca had no carisma unfriendly & lacking interpersonal skills. I've seen owners make you feel very welcomed in their restaurant, but this guy, needs to work on his skills set in all areas!!!! Happy Birthday to meView more

Great BBQ!! The beef ribs are bigger than you'll find at just about any BBQ joint! The pulled pork, pork ribs & brisket is great too! Don't forget to order the mac & cheese! All the food is good that I made a point to come back a 2nd time while I'm over here from Minnesota! It's a good idea to make a reservation earlier in the day so they know you're comingView more

I’ve lived in FL & eaten BBQ across every state in the south including the famous Salt Lick BBQ in Austin,TX & I can assure you that this place is the real deal! 10/10View more

via LibroThe food was ok the beef rib didn't have very much seasoning, but was cooked good. The drink I ordered came out made incorrectly & when I asked for water or napkins they were never brought until we asked multiple times. The service was not great the waiter did not come over to ask if we needed anything else or if the food came out ok. When it was time to pay we split the check & when one of the party's paid she came over & tried to rush us to pay as if we were going to leave without paying. We were not offered to go boxes & did not get them until we paid & when we were packing up the food the waitress stood right next to us staring to see what we were taking home. Also there was not enough food left in the back to get a full portion of pork ribs even though when we came in we were told the the point of making a reservation was to insure there would be enough food for all parties. Over all I would not come here again & I feel as though there are better barbecue places in Canada.
via LibroWOW....i want to preface my review by staying that i make pretty darn good American BBQ & I have had American BBQ all over the US. Lattuca BBQ was excellent & just as good if nit better than what i had. The gigantic beef ribs were ridiculously good, a beautiful smoke ring, the brisket was melting in your mouth, the pork ribs were cooked to perfection & had the correct pull & the pulled pork was equally delicious. You go not need any BBQ sauce when eating Lattuca BBQ, the flavor of all the meats holds its own! We tried the three sides & all were equally good. Already planning my return with some friends very soon!
