Shared with a family of gluten free & non gluten free eaters, everyone was delighted at how flaky & delicious the pastries were once warmed up in the oven. The fillings are fantastic - we love the chausson au pommes & the spanikopita the best. We will definitely be back & are so grateful for this bakery!
I'm only writing this to maybe help improve the bakery & the baked goods here. Everything I had here was subpar. I was excited to try the gluten-free bagels here, but unfortunately they didn't meet my expectations at all. The texture & shape were closer to a hamburger bun than a traditional bagel, which was disappointing given how they're presented it's also not cool you have to buy the entire bag for $9.99 for 5.
In terms of taste, I found them quite dry & lacking flavor. Presentation-wise I'd rate them around 3/10, & for taste 1/10, based on my personal experience.
I've tried many gluten-free bakeries in different cities, as I have been diagnosed since 2010 & compared to those other places around the world - this one still has MUCH room to grow. It's great they say their bakery has many strong patrons last 10 years I am surprised it has such high reviews here? Not sure if it's cause Montreal doesn't have many gluten-free spaces
Service was also a bit abrupt during my visit, which affected the overall experience. Disappointed & was expecting a lot since the reviews were so high but all 3 items ordered was a total MISS for me. The spinach pie horrible, the croissant was bad & the bagels ugh waste of money total MISS
I finally tried this gluten-free bakery after it was recommended to me, & wow - absolutely delicious! You honestly can't even tell the pastries are gluten-free or dairy-free. They taste just like the real thing!
I got an apricot danish & a chocolate éclair, & both were incredible. My friend tried a blueberry danish & loved it too. I also grabbed a couple of cinnamon rolls from their freezer section to bake at home - can't wait to try them!
The prices were very reasonable, the owner was super sweet & friendly, & the place itself was clean, cozy, & inviting. It's a small, cute spot that was actually pretty busy when I went, which is always a good sign.
I feel so lucky that it's walking distance from my house - I'll definitely be going back often. Next time, I'm 100% trying one of their full cakes!
SO AMAZING/SUPERIOR Gluten free pastries! I wish this bakery was in Victoria B.C.!!! (Maybe not because I would gain so much weight) This Was my favourite GF stop in Montreal. So many options to choose from. Fresh! Fluffy/ Flakey! Thank You Thank you Thank you! Recommend, if we're ever back in this area, I will definitely be back!!
I grabbed two desserts recently. They still have a good mille-feuille & it's still vegan; there are two flavors: original (vanilla) & rasberry (but wasn't available that day)
I also tried their pistachio eclair but cream on the inside was off. It had an unpleasant chemically taste to it.
The bakery doesn't have a lot of vegan items but I believe you can preorder some of their pies & tarts & ask for a vegan version on demande. Apart from that, all of their stuff is dairy free
Great gluten free bakery! I really like the baguettes, chocolate chip cookies & croissants
I'd say by far this has been the best gluten free bakery I've been to. Tons of selection in both sweet & savoury treats.
As someone who can't tolerate lactose & doesn't handle gluten well, I was thrilled to discover this place. Seeing their great reviews on Google made me very curious to try it, & I'm so glad I did!
The shop is clean, the display counter is large, & everything looks incredibly tempting. My boyfriend & I debated for a while before deciding to be reasonable & pick one pastry each, along with a box of macarons to-go. & wow-these were by far the best gluten- & dairy-free pastries I've ever had. The texture was light & fluffy, without that dry, crumbly feel that so many gluten-free options tend to have. If I hadn't known, I would have never guessed they were gluten-free! My boyfriend, who has no dietary restrictions, also couldn't tell the difference & really enjoyed his pastry.
The prices are very reasonable, especially for such a specialized bakery. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their products & truly wish them all the best with their business!
Go here! This is the absolute best gluten free bakery that I have ever been to. The croissants are amazing, somehow crispy, chewy & flaky all at once. My husband is not gluten free & he says it was one of the best he had ever had too
This is by far the best gluten free bakery in Canada. 😁 Everything is gluten & dairy free, & no other things that bother my tummy, so it's super safe. & TASTY!!! Noone even knows it's gluten free. The pistachio tarts are out of this world, & even before I knew I had celiac, I didn't eat pastries, but I do now! 😂 It's also very low key, quick service, easy parking, easy-going staff, very reasonably priced, & just no-nonsense. Just yummy, safe treats!! So grateful to all who makes this all possible!! 😊
The gluten free mill feuille is exquisite & delicious! You would never think it was gluten & dairy free! The croissants & chocolate au pain are amazing my favourite in the city! The staff are very friendly! You can't go & have a coffee as it's not really a sit down cafe but rather a bakery ( which there's nothing wrong with that but the reason why I gave two stars for atmosphere being as it's not the type of place to sit down & enjoy dessert with friends or family which is to bad given the limited places someone with celiac has in Montreal ) . All in all great pastries for the celiac community as well as others to enjoy ☺️
Anyone who has ever bought a gluten-free croissant knows it is a risky venture, usually motivated by nostalgia & often fraught with disappointment. While many gluten-free croissants satisfy in their own way, it's really, really hard to approach the texture & airiness of a traditional croissant. So, I came to this bakery optimistic but expecting a "typical" gluten-free croissant. What I found instead was so much better than any gluten-free croissant I've ever had. Same for the pain au chocolat. If I lived in town, this would become my regular spot, but I'll be happy to return on my next visit to Montreal.
