La Spada is now a place forever in my, & my fiancees heart.
I got in touch with the owner for a special place to propose to my significant other & everything was above & beyond.
The space is spectacular, the service is exceptional, but the food blew us away.
If you are in Montreal this is a place you can not miss.Voir plus

Overall nice ambiance & decor but the waiter was very pushy & we felt rushed. Rushed to order, rushed to eat, & rushed to pay & leave. Examples include coming to take the order within minutes of arrival & coming back quickly after we told him we hadn't looked at the menu. Another example is when he took unfinished appetizer plates while still eating. He then forgot to bring an appetizer which he later brought. After done eating mains he offered desserts & when we declined he said "well it's time for bills then". Minutes after ordering a 2nd bottle of wine, he explained we needed to leave within 30 minutes because they had another group coming. Food was decent. The green salad, suppli & calamari were great. The orecchiette alla stracciatella & the carbonara were cold. I know these plates aren't supposed be scorching because of the fresh cheese & egg yolks but it was too cold. The carbonara felt they added too much pasta water, thereby lacking creaminess & taste. Quality of the pasta was very good.Voir plus

What an incredible restaurant ! You walk into a beautifully decorated space that is equally cozy. The service was impeccable & friendly ! Now the absolute best part is the food ! I had the ossobuco & he tuna tartare that were both delish!!! All the options were so good we all ended up sharing amongst us ! Seriously I would give 10 stars if I could !Voir plus

Great atmosphere, decent service, mediocre food. The appetizers where okay, the branzino was nice, the lamb was wonderful but the pasta was terrible. Out of 4 pasta dishes tried, 1 was okay. The tortellini was the worst. Tuna tartare was not good, the tagliatelle was really really not good, dry papery shredded pork. Oh & the desserts, you could of knocked out someone with the cheesecake it was so dense & hard, & a grainy tiramisu followed…. Maybe they should outsource their desserts if no one knows how to make them in the kitchen…. Service was okay, but we had to serve ourselves wine a few times, asked for water a few times, at some point they were bringing food but half the table had no plates & no one had utensils….at the end of the night the waiter pushed back on us buying another bottle of wine because he said there was only a half hour left before closure, I've never ever known of a restaurant not wanting to make a wine sale (to be noted it was a sat night, the resto was still half full, & we were 8ppl so that's a glass each)! What an incredible experience with my father last night at Spada from start to finish! Immaculate atmosphere topped with fantastic service. Scott was a wonderful host, Lio & Hamza took amazing care of us! The kitchen creates magic as all the dishes we had were severely addictive & delicious. The focaccia is to die for, & the pasta dishes we had were perfectly executed. Big shout out to Chef D as well! Merci bcp & see you soon ! ❤️Voir plus

What an incredible night at La Spada, once again ! The food is delicious & the waiters there gave us an amazing experience on both nights we had dinner. The pistachio cheesecake was the best dessert I've EVER put in my mouth. It was absolutely mouth watering. I still think about it to this day. But when I returned to laspada I had the unfortunate news to find out it was discontinued. All the desserts are amazing. I just really miss the cheesecake.Voir plus

Although we waited quite a while to dine here, it was well worth it. We shared one order of vitello tonnato & one of osso bucco; both were delicious & ample. We each had a dessert-also yummy. Service was excellent, & it was fun to chat with chef Steve. La Spada is first rate.Voir plus

Le restaurant La Spada m'a aidé à un organiser un super surprise à mon copain. Ils ont été super collaboratifs, accueillants & compréhensifs face aux complexités de la situation. L'expérience offerte par du staff & de l'environnement est selon moi tout aussi important que la qualité du menu, ce pourquoi La Spada excelle à tous les niveaux. J'y retournerai sans hésitation.

My new favourite restaurant in st.henri. The atmosphere is incredible, such a cozy & eclectic vibe. The service was incredible, timing for food & cocktails were paced out well! Ridiculously noisy. Food was meh! Nothing was special, in fact, everything was just passable. Had to send back frito mists. 2 nd batch was ok. Octopus sat on boring cold chick peas. My husbands coronary was just edible. So disappointed! Won't be going back.Voir plus

La Spada is a breath of fresh air in terms of Italian dining in Montreal. Great food, friendly service & a chill vibe that keeps people coming back. Went with a group of nine people right after Christmas & we all had a great experience! Highly recommend the tortellini en brodo, the polpo alla griglia, the carbonara & the filet mignon. La Spada delivers an upscale Italian dining experience with exceptional attention to detail. The atmosphere is warm & elegant, enhanced by vintage chandeliers & tasteful decor. The open kitchen adds vibrancy to the space, & the cozy yet refined setup makes it perfect for special occasions. Despite being packed on New Year's Eve, the staff remained attentive, friendly, & highly professional. Service was fairly fast, & the evening flowed seamlessly. The dishes were beautifully presented & lived up to expectations. While the food was excellent, the price point is undeniably steep. With a $250 bill for two (without alcohol), a standard pasta starts at $40, & the lobster spaghetti was $70. The quality is there, but it might not justify the cost for everyone. La Spada excels in ambiance, service, & food quality. It's a fantastic choice for a luxurious night out, but be prepared for premium pricing. If you're looking to splurge on an unforgettable Italian meal, this is the place.Voir plus

Had a really bad experience - very uncomfortable seat over the radiator & staff unable/reluctant to reseat us until way past the middle of the meal… food was sub-par at best & service elusive (to avoid my complaints, no doubt), although in fairness the wine was excellent & the sommelier much nicer. The owner made it clear we were not welcome back after I selected the no tip option (why have it if you don't mean it?), but it won't be difficult to oblige…
