Overall a mid experience. The food started strong with our smaller plates, but the pasta dishes were disappointing. Overall, what stuck with us is how rushed the service felt, which took away from the entire experience. There is far better in MTL for the price point.Voir plus

LOVED it! From the service to the vibe to the amazing food & wine, you can't go wrong at La Spada. Our waiter was amazing, & super helpful, as was the rest of the staff. The red wine from Montepulciano made me temporarily forget about the gloomy weather outside & everything from the appetizers (burrata on micro greens & eggplants as well as arancini stuffed with truffle rizzoto) to the dessert (Ferrero Rocher cake) was absolutely delicious.Voir plus

We had a team dinner here on Friday & had such a fantastic experience! There was a small mix-up with our guest numbers when we arrived, but the staff were so kind & quick to sort everything out-they really went above & beyond. The food was absolutely incredible (special shoutout to the carbonara-it was next level!), & the atmosphere made for a really fun night. We had such a great time & would 100% recommend this spot. I unfortunately had a terrible experience at this restaurant. Never have I been treated so disgracefully. They told us to leave after 1:45 minutes because they had mismanaged their reservations for the evening. It was ok, we just wanted to finish our glass of wine. The waiter agreed. But somehow the hostess felt the need to come to our table again, two minutes later, to tell us to leave immediately. It made us all terribly uncomfortable & ruined the entire evening. This is simply not a way to treat patrons who just spent nearly 500$ in your establishment.

We were supposed to go to another restaurant for our anniversary, but decided to pop in as this restaurant is closer to our place & the hostess was kind enough to accommodate our unexpected arrival. Right when you walk in, you notice the ambiance is spot on - never been to Rome specifically but everything felt right from decor to the menu. Mood was also amplified by the amazing Dean Martin classics they were playing.
Food was delicious, you can't come here expecting to be blown away with a culinary experience. Its a homey eatery that serves simple Roman classics, executed very well. The vitello saltimbocca was the highlight, reading some reviews saying its salty - not sure what they expected with a dish wrapped in prosciutto. The salt was nicely balanced with a squeeze of lemon & the buttery wine sauce they served it with, I cleaned the bone despite being full. Pasta was perfectly cooked & portions were generous. I thought the price of the pasta was high at first glance but the portion you get is certainly worth it.
We had the pleasure of being served by Liam who was attentive but for the most part let us enjoy our dinner (the way it should be). Someone, who I believe was the owner, came over to check in on us - its clear that these people care about their clients & the food they serve. I have very high standards overall, but with Montreal dining you get what you give, if you're an unreasonable & entitled person you will never truly enjoy a restaurant. The lower reviews I read seemed unjustified from my experience; disgruntled individuals who complain no matter what or come with lots of entitlement & very little understanding.

Possibly some of the best pasta & lamb chops I've ever had. The duck ragu was amazing & the lamb melts in your mouth. Also got the cacio e peppe brussel sprouts & they were quite good.
The service was a bit scattered as multiple people came to our table asking the same questions (do you want a to-go box, do you want a refill, etc.) without actually following up & the restaurant is quite loud, but the decor remains beautiful & the food is very worth it. Can't wait to come back & try out other things on the menu.Voir plus

I really wanted to love it but…. How could I? The staff was not properly trained: the guy at the door was borderline arrogant, the girl serving us was nice but couldn't recommend nor explain the menu or suggest « the house bests ». The food was cold, the pasta was tasteless & so « al denté » that it felt uncooked & really overpriced. Like 32$ for what I would have given max 10-15$? The «boulettes de viande » were again tasteless & cold (& I usually crave them)…
I really love Italian food & I was looking forward to a new favorite spot… but it needs some improvements for me to come back again. Special mention to the decor that was nice & on trend.

Bon, voyons ... si vous cuisinez un tantinet, mieux vaut rester chez vous & préparer vous mêmes de bons plats Italiens. Tous les plats sont trops salés, baignent dans de l'huile de mauvaise qualité. Les calmars sont de consisence caoutchoux, la panure mouillée dans l'huile. Les pâtes carbonara collantes, salées sans rafinement.
Le service, moyen, incapable de nous renseigner sur les spécialités de la maison: y en a t-il?
Mauvais choix de restau, il y a beaucoup mieux à Montréal & dans la quartier.
