Reviews often mention
chinese(14) all you can eat(12) recommend(9) favorite(9) shrimp(9) dumplings(9) dishes(9) peanut butter(7) rice(7) fresh(7) peanut(7) quality(6)If I can give this restaurant & the staff 10 stars I would. The food quality was absolutely amazing, the staff is friendly & respectful. We went to celebrate our son's 20th birthday & they made it very special. This was our first time there & definitely will not be our last. I definitely recommend this restaurant. To everyone that works there. Thank you very much!!!!🤙🤙🤙 Jeep guy!
To the review right below mine (newest to oldest):
'I've been a loyal customer of La Perle for years': So, you've been coming to this restaurant for years & had a good experience every time except for one time, & that is the moment you decide to write a review? You enjoyed coming to a place nine times out of ten, & the one time it wasn't a good experience, you decide to write a bad review? The math isn't adding up. You enjoyed your visit 90% of the time, & then you decide to give a 1-star review the one time you didn't enjoy your visit.
'one of my family members found an ant in their rice. When we raised our concerns, the response was dismissive, a $20 credit on a $400 bill. This isn't about the money.': The staff apologized to you guys & offered free drinks & a $20 discount as compensation; yet, you were giving the staff a lot of attitude. You emphasized the $20 credit on a $400 bill as if it is insufficient. What else did you want? It is an all-you-can-eat restaurant, so you can simply reorder the dish. Moreover, you said that'this isn't about money'; however, in reality, you demanded a free bill for one person, which is $44. If you are going to post a review, at least don't spread lies & pretend that you'didn't care for the money' or'money compensation wasn't the issue,' which clearly it was when you wanted more than a $20 compensation-even though in your review you state,'This isn't about the money.' I am not sure how one can attain this level of greediness. You found an ant in a bowl of steamed rice worth $3.50 & demand $44 in compensation. This is more than 10x the compensation you are asking for, so don't even say that'this isn't about money.' Unless you suffered mental trauma & psychological damages from an ant in steamed rice, I find the 10x compensation unjustified. You ate all the main courses & appetizers, & at the very end of your meal, you find an ant in a small plate of steamed rice & demand a free bill on your entire meal-including the main courses & appetizers you already ate, which were in good condition. Make it make sense. Found an ant in steamed rice = Free bill including main course, appetizer, & dessert? Next time, go to The Keg & try asking for a free bill (including steak & appetizer) when you find a fruit fly in your soup & let's see if they comply. One's life must be very miserable & sad if they lie in their reviews. What does one gain from this? Must be leading an unfruitful life... must be quite pitiful
I've been a loyal customer of La Perle for years, & it pains me to write this.
Our waiter was visibly sick, sneezing into his hands while serving our food. I asked management to have him wear a mask or be replaced. Nothing was done, & it made for an incredibly uncomfortable meal.
To make things worse, one of my family members found an ant in their rice. When we raised our concerns, the response was dismissive, a $20 credit on a $400 bill.
This isn't about the money. It's about basic hygiene & being heard as a customer. Truly disappointing from a place I've always loved.
Worst service especially the lady that was serving us doesn't understand frensh or English. Giving attitude, don't give us time to talk & just leave. Don't suggest at all!
Food is not that great as it used to be, service is a big ZERO, the staff are so rude, & the noise... oh my god
NEVER AGAIN, it is no longer an experience, just food on the table, for what it is, it is not worth any STARS
5 stars but please consider opening Sundays
I would go much more often
Lunch menu a la carte is considerably smaller than dinner menu. But everything was delicious.
Let me preface this by saying that while I'm not allergic to fish, I get severe indigestion from it.
Having ordered the general tao chicken, it was rather surprising to have a distinct fish taste & odd texture compared to the other pieces I've had. Wasn't long before someone else from our group noticed a piece of white fish amongst the general tao chicken. We brought it up to our waiter who told us it was an impossibility yet 2 of us had pieces of fish.
So I paid 60$ for a supper that will end up very shortly in the toilet.
Also to note that the waiter having done a mistake on bills from our party told us to sort it amongst ourselves instead of correcting them.
Please be careful of you have allergies or sensitive to certain foods! Food was ok, but an issue arose that there were pieces of fish in the General Tao, which my friend didn't react well to. The waiter argued that it was impossible there was fish in there, even though 2 of our group found battered fish in the same dish.
Avant la covid j'aurais mise
5 etoile.
Our waiter Alex was awesome, always smiled. How ever the waiter Erick was so rude.
J'ai connu la perle comme un excellent restaurant, mais 20 ans après il faut se rendre à l'évidence ce n'est plus le cas,, sauf pour attraper une gastro carabinée
We waited one hour to get our soup! Entrees arrived another 30 min later. Not at all well organized on this new Year's eve even though reservations were made ahead. Portions were small for the group, we got 4 shrimps for 5 people. Price excessively high for the wait. Kids were starving & they didn't offer anything to help them wait. Some people arrived after us & were served before. Will not go back there!
New Years Eve... Understandably service will be slow. Not enough staff... 2 hour time limit.... been here 1 & a half hours & still not served our main course... They better not come & tell us to exit before we are done. Not our fault.
Ah quel domage!!! C'était notre petit asiatique du coin. Malheureusement on va en trouver un nouveau dans le quartier. La nourriture n'est pas aussi bonne que avant & ils ont presque doublé les prix. Donc on n'y retournera plus.
Excellent food, but the place is very poorly maintained, & the service is Not warm
