I used to really love this bakery, but it hasn't felt the same since the remodel. Before, the bakery was visible & part of the experience - you could see the bread being made, feel the craft, & sense the warmth of the place.
Now the baking area is closed off, with the display up front & the bakery pushed to the back. The space feels less personal & more transactional. Even the bread doesn't taste quite the same, there's something missing, though it's hard to put into words.
The charm & warmth that made this place special seem to have been lost in the redesign. I hope some of that original spirit can find its way back.

Best bakery in NDG. I just wish they had more bakery items, but the quality of everything was amazing. Everything was super delicious, fresh, & well made. They also have fair prices for the quality. The French baguette is also super tasty. I was surprised how everything was perfect. I would recommend this place any day.

So like everything else happening these days with product packaging, quantity, price etc...
I purchased two half loafs of their Organic prize winning Sourdough bread, & was very disappointed to find that the taste was off (tasteless) & was a little chewy & didnt have the slightly golden crust on top but instead a very WHITE crust looking like maybe it wasn't baked enough? I did call to speak to the manager to ask if they changed the ingredients.

Je fréquente cette boulangerie depuis son ouverture ainsi que son extension, & c'est un endroit que j'ai toujours beaucoup apprécié. Leur baguette a longtemps été l'une des meilleures du quartier, avec une mie moelleuse & une belle épaisseur, vraiment un plaisir au quotidien.
Cependant, depuis quelque temps, j'ai remarqué un léger changement : la baguette est plus mince & moins moelleuse qu'avant. J'aimerais vraiment retrouver la baguette des premiers jours, qui faisait toute la différence.
À côté de ça, il faut souligner l'énorme amélioration sur les autres produits, notamment les petits pains au chocolat & les pâtisseries, qui sont devenus excellents.
C'est une belle boulangerie que je continuerai à soutenir, en espérant un retour à la baguette qui m'avait conquise au début.

Avez-vous changé la recette de votre foccacia aux olives? Depuis plusieurs mois, la texture est moins'fluffy, moins léger, beaucoup moins d'olives, moins d'huile, moins de sel... déçu à chaque fois depuis un peu moins d'un an.

Best chocolatine I have had in years. I have also tried their foccacia, & its to die for. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, & efficient. If you haven't been you must try.

J'aime beaucoup les produits de La Meunerie Urbaine, mais j'ai été très déçue d'apprendre qu'ils ne font plus leur pain' Le cousin germé' depuis environ 1 semaine. C'était le pain préféré à ma famille & moi. En espérant grandement qu'ils le réintègrent à leurs produits!

One of the best bakeries in the city. Large variety of excellent breads, pastries, Focaccia, desserts & great coffee. Nice little self serve area of you want to grab bagged bread, refrigerated items, croissants or pantry items. Sufficient seating inside & out & service with a smile keeps us coming back again, all the way from Ile Perrot.

Heureusement qu il y a les bornes self service car la file d'attente est décourageante, les grosses pièces de pains sont très bonnes & les sacs très bien pensées
