La Louisiane specializes in authentic Cajun and Creole culinary traditions that highlight bold seasoning and traditional cooking techniques. Guests encounter a menu featuring signature dishes such as slow-simmered gumbos, spiced jambalayas, and blackened proteins prepared with classic Southern aromatics. The establishment maintains a strong focus on accessibility by incorporating extensive gluten-free options that ensure dietary inclusivity without compromising the integrity of regional flavors. Its preparation methods emphasize the complex layering of spices and peppers characteristic of the Louisiana bayou. The kitchen balances heat and depth in every recipe to replicate the distinct profile of Southern coastal fare. This commitment to traditional recipes provides a clear representation of specific regional American cuisine for local patrons. The atmosphere reflects a functional and focused approach to delivering specialized food items to the broader community.
La Louisiane is widely regarded as a vibrant destination for authentic Cajun cuisine, frequently praised for its warm, jazz-infused atmosphere and attentive, professional service. Many diners highlight the gumbo, jambalaya, and various seafood offerings as standout dishes, often noting the flavorful seasonings and generous portions that capture the spirit of New Orleans. While the majority of guests have enjoyed consistently excellent experiences, some patrons have expressed concerns regarding recent menu changes, perceived inconsistencies in dish preparation, and smaller portion sizes for certain items. Despite these mixed remarks, the restaurant remains a popular choice for special occasions and recurring visits, with many visitors eager to return for the lively ambiance and high-quality desserts.
Absolutely loved my experience at Luisianna's! 🦞
The lobster bisque was incredibly rich & flavorful, & the oysters were exceptionally fresh - definitely some of the best I've had in Montreal.
The live jazz ambiance truly brings you into another world. The music, atmosphere, & overall vibe make this place feel so elegant & warm at the same time. 🎷🤍
A special mention to Annabelle, who was absolutely amazing throughout the evening …. so attentive, kind, & welcoming. She truly made the experience even more memorable! ✨
Such an amazing spot for a birthday dinner or a special night out. A beautiful addition to the Montreal ambiance & restaurant scene. I'll definitely be coming back! 🌸

We gushed the whole walk home. We were so delighted with La louisiane! ...from the instant warm greeting & seating, to the subdued, cozy lighting, the chill vibe, the cool song playlist, super friendly & attentive staff...
To the delicious filled-to-the-brim pitcher of Sangria... The EXCEPTIONAL gumbo, & wonderful mains (blackened chicken & seafood jambalaya) - being from Nova Scotia, we overly salt everything- the seasonings were so en pointe, we didn't even ask for a shaker!
Then the incredible creme brulee - generous thick crackle on top, & perfect cream centre - yum!!!
We'll be returning soon to have the gumbo again, try some different mains, & indulge in the double chocolate pecan pie with ice cream - can't wait! What a gem. Highly, highly recommend!
& by the look of the other guests enjoying their meals, we weren't alone in our joy.
Thanks, la Louisiane. You do it right!!
With 20% tip & tax, we each paid $84, were very full, & took generous leftovers home!

Local Resident Forced to Endure Another Flawless Meal
I returned to La Louisiane tonight, fully prepared to find a single flaw so I could finally feel something other than pure culinary bliss. Unfortunately, the kitchen remains committed to ruining my streak of pessimism.
The'Audacity' of the Evening:
The Food: Just as incredible as last time. It's honestly rude. How am I supposed to enjoy mediocre takeout ever again when this level of flavor exists? The chef clearly has a personal vendetta against my willpower.
The Service: Absolutely wonderful. Our server had the nerve to be attentive, charming, & timed everything perfectly. I tried to find a reason to be annoyed, but they wouldn't even give me the satisfaction of a lukewarm water refill.
The Atmosphere: Still perfect. Disgusting.
Verdict: If you enjoy being treated well & eating food that makes you want to weep with joy, I suppose you should come here. Personally, I'm exhausted by the excellence. 10/10, I'll be back next week to suffer through another five-star experience.
It's very rare that you eat at a restaurant that from the appetizer to dessert. Its five stars La Louisiane is that restaurant. Let's start with the appetizers hush puppies that were delicious with a wonderful horseradish red sauce. The beer battered shrimp was fresh. Wonderful tasting. The cornbread was so good. We had to order two orders.
Main course we ordered the Cajun chicken with mashed potatoes. Wonderful! The mashed potatoes are filled with garlic. Lots of butter, the chicken was so soft that you can cut it with a fork. You did not need a knife & it was nice & crispy & spicy on the outside.
Wonderful fried Chicken! & the french fries were nice & crispy. All fresh made. The dipping gravy was delicious.
Dessert we have to eat it all. We started off with banana Foster. Huge portion, delicious sauce. Very good vanilla ice cream. The creme brulee nice & fatty, & the beignets damn. They were good with two sauces caramel & chocolate & the beignet was nice & heavy just like you get in New Orleans which I have been to New Orleans.
This is my new favorite spot to go to. I'm so happy I found out about them. I will definitely be telling people about it, & going back.
Food was really well seasoned & tasty. Prices are really not bad considering what you get. The banana foster dessert was insane, the fries are seasoned with Cajun seasoning & are really good too. The service we got was also friendly & quick. Would definitely go again!
