This place was very tasty! We first came for a friend's birthday & had an amazing experience. The service was top notch & our waitress was fantastic.
We came back a second time with my husband to treat my brother-in-law & it was just as great. We ordered the mussels, blackened fish, steak, & jambalaya. Everything was absolutely delicious. & those killer spicy spiked lemonades? So good we're still talking about them.
Just like our first visit, the service stood out again. Our waiter was friendly, fun, & super attentive. The bar has a great vibe & we loved the open kitchen setup, great touch.View more
The food was extremely good, wish I could give it a 4.5. Jake was amazing, attentive but not annoying. He was helpful with my questions about where they get their andouille sausages. The hush puppies were perfect, so was the spicy dip. Meat jambalaya was great, nice & smoky & the right portion. Pecan pie was a good way to finish. The first sip of my mint julep was perfect, but I may have had all the bourbon there, didn't taste as strong after. Will 100% go back.View more
What i ordered was good! Loved the vibe. They have jazz night which sounds amazing. Our server was soo nice. The staff was amazing too! They are still new & adapting but it's looking good !View more
We used to love this restaurant & went back to our old neighbourhood yesterday just to eat there, but unfortunately, we were greatly disappointed. Although the atmosphere was still special & the service excellent, the food was underwhelming if not outright bad. We had the blackened chicken & seafood jambalaya, one of their signature dishes. The chicken was plain &, as one reviewer wrote, the only thing you could taste in the seafood jambalaya was canned tomatoes & tomato paste. There were two shrimp in the whole dish & we did not see or taste any fish. The presentation was basically just some food thrown onto a plate. Very sad that such a great restaurant with so much potential has been reduced to this.View more
Service was amazing & atmosphere was cozy, I will say though, the food was a bit underwhelming. My boyfriend got the Voodoo pasta which was pretty nice & packed with flavor. The drinks were awesome too.
The seafood jambalaya was straight up bad. I could pretty much only taste canned tomato flavor, it was so intensely tomato-y that I couldn't taste anything else. The muscles were tasteless & rubbery & overcooked, same with the shrimp.
Still ate it & didn't tell the server because I don't wanna give anyone a hard time. But I probably won't go back .View more
It's very rare that you eat at a restaurant that from the appetizer to dessert. Its five stars La Louisiane is that restaurant. Let's start with the appetizers hush puppies that were delicious with a wonderful horseradish red sauce. The beer battered shrimp was fresh. Wonderful tasting. The cornbread was so good. We had to order two orders.
Main course we ordered the Cajun chicken with mashed potatoes. Wonderful! The mashed potatoes are filled with garlic. Lots of butter, the chicken was so soft that you can cut it with a fork. You did not need a knife & it was nice & crispy & spicy on the outside.
Wonderful fried Chicken! & the french fries were nice & crispy. All fresh made. The dipping gravy was delicious.
Dessert we have to eat it all. We started off with banana Foster. Huge portion, delicious sauce. Very good vanilla ice cream. The creme brulee nice & fatty, & the beignets damn. They were good with two sauces caramel & chocolate & the beignet was nice & heavy just like you get in New Orleans which I have been to New Orleans.
This is my new favorite spot to go to. I'm so happy I found out about them. I will definitely be telling people about it, & going back.View more

It has been over 15 years since being here. Was absolutely delicious food, fantastic service,
& great music playing.
Hope we can be back soon.View more
Delicious food, which I unfortunately couldn't enjoy to its full extent since I was placed next to a powerful fan which kept blowing my napkin off my lap, compounded by very disruptive cooking from the kitchen area I was sitting next to, which made conversation with my parents very difficult, which wasn't helped by my shirt constantly getting stuck to the wooden chair. I'm especially disappointed since I've dined at La Louisiane before & don't remember any such noise pollution, especially none as persistent & aggressive as I'd heard tonight. It brings me no pleasure to say I would've enjoyed dinner more had I just ordered takeout from this place instead of dining inside; I'd strongly discourage anyone with hearing issues/sensitivity from dining inside if you can avoid it.View more
Really cute soot with a very nice outdoor terasse. A unique type of cuisine to montreal, & very delicious! the sweet potato fries are amazing! Service was very good.View more

First came to this restaurant when I lived in Montreal in 2000, & in what in recent years has become an annual pilgrimage features coming here again. & again. The food, friendliness, & ambiance make this a highlight of each visit to Montreal.View more
We walked in without a reservation & were able to get a table on the patio. Very friendly service. For drinks, we had the hurricane, Cajun lemonade, & the sangria. They were all delicious, & the lemonade was very zesty. Our apps were the crab cakes & the cornbread. The crab cakes were delicious (make sure to squeeze the lemon onto them it makes them even better) though maybe ask for extra sauce on the side if you like a lot of sauce. The cornbread was delightful, perfect sweetness & wonderful texture & it was grilled which added an amazing flavour. For mains we got the blackened chicken & the Voodoo pasta. The chicken was juicy & the spices were delicious, but the excellent garlic mash nearly stole the show. My favourite dish was the Voodoo pasta. It was spicy & creamy, & the sausage was delicious. I could eat that everyday & be very happy. Finally we ended with the bananas Foster & it was AMAZING. The only thing is if you like a lot of ice cream with your dessert, maybe ask for an extra scoop.View more

My favourite restaurant in Montreal! We come here every time that we're in town. Amazing food & drinks! Staff are incredible!View more
I was invited to La Louisiane for an excellent political discussion. Let's say that the food brought peace to our conversation. That special chicken with the cajun sauce was incredible! The bear was smooth, & the smile that came with the service was super bright. I highly recommend this restaurant. The dessert was amazing!View more
