About us

At la Khaїma (nomad tent), at 142 Fairmount in Mile End, we enter into a nomadic world, a journey through colors, flavors and sensations. Once inside, African music accompanied by a rich fragrance emanating from the kitchen complete the multi-sensory experience that transports you to the Sahara. Couples can enjoy an intimate setting while large groups benefit from Moroccan salon comfort, eating from a long, low table.

The founder, of Mauritanian origin, greets guests and his joie-de-vivre warms the atmosphere. The cuisine is African with a nomad touch. Dishes are prepared with local products following the “Slow Food” concept, creating uniquely spiced tajines that offer an unparalleled taste experience. In accordance with the tradition of the desert, guests share large platters tasting all the flavors on offer, with enough to satisfy even the most demanding of appetites.

Come discover La Khaima’s unique refreshing drink made from the hibiscus flower and their mint tea. These marvelous drinks, in addition to mezzes are available by day at Khaїma cafe, 148 Fairmount. It is a meeting

Charmant restaurant ou le partage, la convivialite autours d'un plat familial est au rendez vous. La nourriture est excellente, savoureuse, simple & genereuse & le patron toujours pret a nous faire passer un bon moment autours de belles histoires du dessert, autours de son excellent the a la menthe! La Khaima m'a permi de revivre mon voyage dans le nord de l'Afrique l'espace d'un souper. J'ai pu y retrouver la nourriture, le thé & ambiance authentique! L'accueil était très chaleureux & typique des gens nomades. J'y retournerai chaque fois que l'Afrique du nord me manquera! Je suis très heureuse d'avoir découvert cet endroit.

Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre expérience au restaurant La Khaïma ! Les plats étaient délicieux !!! Le couscous était un vrai régal ! Les thés à la menthe étaient excellents. On a aussi beaucoup aimé un accueil chaleureux & l’hospitalité du chef. La décoration vous plonge dans une ambiance nomade. On y absolument reviendra avec nos amis.

C'était vraiment pas mal ! La nourriture était bonne & l'ambiance était bien. Par contre, le tapis & les chaises auraient pu être plus propre. Nous étions cinq & nous avons vraiment bien mangé.

Concept original, dépaysement garantie.
Nous avions pris le menu table d'hôte avec la soupe, les 3 tagines, le dessert & le thé. Tout était très bon & avec de généreuses portions.

Pas pire sans être tombé en bas de notre mini banc!
Table d'hôte à 25$ incluant : une soupe aux lentilles (excellente!) 3 tajines (agneau&boeuf, légumes & poulet aux olives), bon mais sans plus. J'ai mangé de meilleurs tajines. Le proprio est sympa ainsi que le service, mais un peu cher pour ce qu'on nous a servi...
Bref, on a aimé, mais pas assez pour y retourner.
Ah oui, le thé sucré à la menthe était trop sucré, pourtant, j'en ai bu des litres dans ma vie des thés sucrés!

Shower de bébé : endroit très spécial, convivial & dépaysant!
Sous la tente nomade, personnel gentil & attentif. Nourriture succulente.Aussi confortable qu'une fête à la maison sans avoir à préparer le repas ni ramasser à la fin.

Endroit fantastique si vous avez à fêter un événement en petit groupe.

Si vous avez envie de quelque chose de différent alors voilà une bonne adresse. Dépaysement garanti dans l,ambiance d'une tente bédouine, accueil chaleureux du propriétaire & complété par le services efficace & aimable des serveuses. La nourriture offre un excellent rapport qualité-prix. Les portions sont très généreuses, la nourritures est goûteuse (la soupe était excellente, les plats principaux auraient tout de même mérités un peu plus d'épices).
Après avoir fini notre repas nous sommes restés à discuter pendant un long moment sans que jamais personne ne nous fasse sentir qu'il était temps de partir. Vraiment à faire & à refaire :-)
