Located in Old Montreal under the magnificent Hôtel Place d'Armes, the Kyo takes us on a journey into a relaxed but lively atmosphere that reminds us of the conviviality of Japanese culinary traditions. We had dinner last night. Our waiter Jess gave us a heads up right away that they serve tapas. Starving as we were, we ordered at least 2-3 dish each. Halfway through, our stomachs were filling for' full capacity' status. I can say the taste is superb & deserves a Michelin star. It is a bit pricey but it's worth every bite. The food looked amazing, but the price & quantity of food was disappointing. 2 yakitori for that much money is... Unpleasant. Come for the atmosphere, but be aware that you are mainly paying for presentation & not quantity (& most of the time quality) of food.
In my opinion, the best dish was the wagyu gyoza; but even that is way too expensive for what you get.View more
