I recently visited Kyo Bar Sushi & had a mixed experience. The atmosphere was inviting & stylish, & the service was great. We started with the pork belly, which had good flavor but would have benefited from the fat being rendered & crispy. The tempura was good, with a very light batter. We also ordered the chef's maki set which was disappointing, offering little variety & mostly consisting of variations on California or dragon rolls. Overall, Kyo Bar Sushi provides a pleasant dining environment & great service, but the food options we selected were average.View more
Not the best sushi restaurant & pricey. I recommend only if you have no choice I think :SView more
excellent food. calamari, karage, tataki & sushi all great choices. donuts are nothing special though but everything else is insaneView more
Great sushi ! Only complain is the pork belly is not 100% thereView more
Great sushi, nice atmosphere, really enjoyed the dinneView more
Absolutely the best sushi I've had in Montreal. The room is very nice but is a but is a bit tight for space. My girlfriend & I went here for my birthday a few days ago & we both loved it. Besides the tight fit for space, & my beer being a bit flat everything was delightful. Our server was fantastic (good intuition & had clearly served a long time) & the sushi was SO GOOD! 12/10, would recommend.View more
Wow service exceptionnelle. View more
Best sushi i ever had! It was lunch special chef's choice. Highly recommended!View more
It is a pricey place but the food is worth it. These were the best sushi I have tried in Montreal. It also gets busy so I suggest booking a spot in advance (seat options available)View more
After having had such a large breakfast & lunch, we wanted something light for the evening. Sushi sounded great & we found this place just around the corner from our hotel. They fit us in on a busy night. Great atmosphere & an excellent waitress. Of course, we ordered several dishes: - Nigiri: sea bass, mackerel, salmon, albacore tuna, red tuna, yellowfin tuna, scallop - Signature roll: rainbow - shrimp tempura, tuna, salmon, albacore, hamachi, avocado - Chicken gyoza: pan-fried chicken or pork dumplings, sweet chili shoyu, truffle oil, green onion We really enjoyed all the dishes: excellent fresh sushi, perfect Gyoza & the "Rainbow" rolls were very tasty. We had a delicious bottle of warm sake, recommended by our waitress. Really nice meal. Thank you KYO! Also posted to my food blog on Instagram @AbbeyKing16View more
Went during the Happening Gourmand event in order to be able to try different things on the menu. Good experience overall. Was a little bit disappointed when it comes to sushi as they weren't as fresh & tasty as I was expecting. Will give them another try maybe 🤔View more
Service was great, quick & super clean with nice vibes. The sushi delicious but warm. Even though the quality is top notch, still a bit overpriced.View more
Great fresh sushi. Super location & ice cold Sapporo on draft.View more
Great service & deal with Happening Gourmand tasting menu. great drinks, sushi wasn't super fresh & udon salty but the rest was very goodView more
Came here for a work lunch, perhaps if you want sushi it's great, but we didn't & I felt the menu options were that great. Especially the "appetizers." The pork katsu was cold & had almost no sauce on it at all so it was very dry. Expensive for what it was. Colleagues poke bowls looked much better.View more
I really enjoyed the ambiance, & their sushi was incredibly tasty-I absolutely loved it. Their cocktails, Pinky Ginger & Fleur de Niwatoko, were also fantastic. I highly recommend this place.View more
I really enjoy our evening! Even if it was busy & the service a bit late, they provide with excellent service & responded to our needs! Really sweet manager & server. We loved the sushis; OMG! Sake tasting was really awesome too. Thank you for this experience ❤️View more
Le service, le vin, les sushi! Tout y est! Un incontournable! 👌🏼View more
Excellent restaurant japonais !
Very slow service in terms of receiving food. Sushi I was good but nothing special. It took close to an 1h20 to receive the food. The waitress was very friendly & nice atmosphere.View more
Honestly, I was disappointed. Overall they have 4.5 stars right now, so as a first timer you have high expectations, but the sushi was just not that good. The service was very good though. My friend had the chicken karaage & apparently it was great. There are 5 star reviews & then there are 1-2 star reviews. I think there's a blend of low standard people & others who have had authentic & fine dining japanese/food, who expect high quality. As someone who's been trying a lot of restaurants in Montreal, this one was definitely disappointing. Recommend for those who aren't picky/have low standards.View more
View more
View more
If you're looking for excellent sushi in old Montreal, look no further. Food tasted fresh & flavourful. Atmosphere is very fancy. Great sit down for a date.View more
Wow!! Juste wow!! 🤩 je recommande fortement!!View more
Disappointed by the lunch bento, sushi was warm, miso tasted off, & the rice I ordered on the side was overcooked. Will not be back.View more
