Recommendé à 100%!View more
Phenomenal food & overall experience! Abs recommend the Rainbow sushi & TATAKI MAGURO (tuna + jalapeno). Mocktails were superb! Top spot for sure. Service was great, accommodating & fast!View more
I had the pleasure of dining at Kyo Bar Japonais last night, & I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the warm & inviting atmosphere set the tone for a fantastic evening. The decor was sleek & modern, with a beautiful bar area where we enjoyed watching the skilled chefs prepare our meals. The service was top-notch, with friendly & attentive staff who were happy to answer all our questions about the menu & make recommendations. & speaking of the menu, the selection of sushi & Japanese dishes was impressive, with something for every taste & preference. What really impressed us, however, was the quality & presentation of the dishes. Each plate was carefully crafted to be both visually appealing & delicious, with garnishes & sauces added with flair. It's clear that the chefs at Kyo Bar Japonais are passionate about their craft & take pride in every dish that leaves the kitchen. Overall, I would highly recommend Kyo Bar Japonais to anyone looking for an exceptional sushi experience. The combination of great food, excellent service, & stylish atmosphere makes it a must-visit destination for foodies & sushi lovers alike. We can't wait to come back & try more of the menu! *Recommended for:* Sushi lovers, foodies, special occasions, date nightsView more
Great Japanese spot! Waitress was pleasant & knowledgable, plus the food was yummy! Recommend the beef tataki, the sushi & the yuzu donuts! Will be back soonView more
Kyo is a wonderful place to go & dine! Me & my partner choice it as our last dinner day night & it was definitely the best choice! We got the 30 pieces sushi & two starters that were perfectly filling, thanks to Elizabeth we were able to choose the best platter for us & she was very sweet & funny!View more
Best sushi & service. Rich selections of sake. Nice vibe! Thank you for delicious surpise of beignets with condensed milk!View more
Super yummy & excellent service. Elizabeth was awesome at helping us feel welcome & teaching us more about sake, then helping us pick an absolutely divine bottle. We will be back! Thank you! The sushi & nigiri & desserts we ordered were all fantastic.View more
Some friends of mine gave me a gift card for this beautiful place, very fancy & in an amazing position in old port (2 min by walk from place d'armes station). Great expectations, unluckily very disappointed. The service was warm & comforting, I asked some special things & they had no problem to change for me. Thank you! 😊 In my opinion the food is too pricy for the quality. I ate better in some sushi all you can eat. I expected higher quality ingredients (like fresh fish, that instead didn't taste of anything). Too many ingredients that always in my opinion didn't match very well. I prefer the original simple Japanese sushi, only rice & fresh fish. It's anyway a nice experience to do once.View more
Probably the best sushi I've ever eaten! Their wings were delicious as well!View more
Great location in Old Montreal. Excellent food sub par service, & needs more fresh air inside Food: got the wagyu gyoza - excellent, fried chicken appetizer - also excellent, sushi rolls were fine Service: kinda rushed, & distracted Atmosphere: ventilation is low, feels like a pub Overall food being good makes up for a lot of soft pointsView more
Good meal with tasty sushi & maki options but the sashimi was underwhelming.View more
Tasty & authentic with nice presentation, good service. Somewhat pricey. Our sushi & miso soup were all good; however I was disappointed my sushi actually contained fake crab. Not what I expect for these prices. They tell you when you arrive that they have small plates meant for sharing. I think they have small plates meant for spending more money. We left hungry just because we didn't want to spend that much.View more
Nice place, great service - just didn't love what we ordered. Gyozas were great but we didn't love any of the three sushi rolls we got which is unusual as we are adventurous diners. One of the rolls with crab was particularly fishy in taste & the tempura wasn't crunchy in any of them when it got to our table. I would stick to the classics maybe? Not sure. 🤔View more
This was an absolute fine dining experience which was a must. It's located at a great spot pretty close to the basilica & core area. Me & my friend ordered the yakitori, beef sushi & curry katsu which were all delicious & fresh. 100% recommend this to anyone wanting some good Japanese food in Montreal.View more
Overpriced meal, expected since in Old Montréal, tourist centre. Sushi very disappointing. Rice not seasoned, seaweed not roasted... Lacking basics for good sushi. Shrimp tempura batter not crispy & so thin. Japanese tofu was firm! Busy so it was hard to get service.View more
View more
View more
This is definitly my favorite sushi restaurant in the old port ! Always fresh & tasty, the staff is very helpful & nice ! We asked for special desserts for a special occasion, & everything was done perfectly. We also had some complicated dietary restrictions, & it was very well handled. If you don't know what to order, simply order the chef's special, you won't be disappointed! I highly recommend trying this amazing restaurant !View more
Amazing sushi, best I've had in Montreal. Highly recommendedView more
View more
Had a great night celebrating my partner's birthday. We were a group of 8 & were given a great spot in the back, so the vibe was private & intimate. The service was impeccable; our waiter was very attentive & friendly, & we ordered a round of sake bombs which was a fun experience to have as a group. The decor was beautiful & location was very accessible. My only hiccup was the food. Many of us ordered the 30 piece sushi & it was...not good. Like at all. I wouldn't order that again. It was complete mush despite the fact that it had tempura in the rolls? & for $70 it felt like a robbery. The appetizers & drinks, however, were very good. Which is why the main dishes were a bit of a shock quality-wise.View more
Nice menu, great sushi, good selection. The vibe was nice, more upbeat.View more
Love the atmosphere & drinks along with the sushi, which was good. But why the three stars? The price is astonishingly high for what you get... far too high... it was good but I'm not going to return. There are much better places for cheaper & just as good. If you have the money to spare though, I am 100% certain the sushi here is fantastic, from what I tasted.View more
A delicious treat of Sushi in the heart of Montreal. All the items we ordered were good.View more
Best sushi i ever tasted in Montreal, & service is amazing. But highly recommend to reserve table in advance!View more
Service was impeccable. Didn't love everything in the chefs nigiri selection or the special sushi rolls.View more
