Located in Montreal’s vibrant Plateau Mont-Royal, Kutum is proud to be the first Bengali fusion restaurant in both Montreal and the province of Quebec. Female-owned, family-run, and South Asian, we bring heart, heritage, and bold flavours to every plate.
Our menu blends the rich traditions of Bengali cuisine with creative international influences. Whether you're on a date, with friends, family, or dining solo, our spacious terrace and warm atmosphere make Kutum the perfect place to eat.
Kutum Montreal comes across as a warm, family-run Bengali-French fusion spot with a cozy, welcoming vibe and a terrace. The menu blends Bengali flavors with French and other influences, featuring tacos, tapas, naan pizza, shakshuka, and brunch plates, praised for creative twists and flavorful execution. Rewards include a pistachio Nutella latte and hibiscus tea, described as standouts, while the dishes are noted for bold spice blends and balanced flavors. Service is frequently described as friendly and attentive, with a personable touch and music that enhances the dining experience. Occasional notes mention longer wait times or uneven seasoning on a few dishes, with some items being saltier or less bold, but this seems outweighed by overall satisfaction and the sense of a hidden gem. Halal status and a focus on showcasing Bangladeshi cuisine in Montreal are repeatedly praised, and many call Kutum a must-visit in the Laurier East area, likely to return for brunch or more dishes.
Visited Montreal last week & made it a point to check out this spot! It's an up & coming restaurant with Bengali twists on the menu. We got several of the small plates & most of the mains & everything was delicious! So happy to see Bengalis taking on the restaurant industry.
Found them out of the blue from nowhere & now I e been there twice. It's definitely worth it & will definitely return for more. Had a party in there with my wife & friends & the food was soooooo good! The owners are a young couple & they personally came out & had a chat with us. Food + atmosphere + personal touch from the owners made it a great experience for us.
I recently visited this fine establishment with my family & absolutely loved the food, ambiance & the friendly service.
We had ordered beef bowls, tiger prawn & chicken pizza. Every one of the dishes were outstanding.
I highly recommend visiting Kutum & experiencing all that they have to offer.
Food tastes amazing. If anyone is looking for authentic Bangladeshi food & hospitality, Kutum is your place. Many tend to mix up Bangladeshi cuisine with Indian ones. Kutum is authentically Bangladeshi & proudly so. I am happy to try out their menu this afternoon & I hope to frequent the restaurant in the days to come. I highly recommend.
Kutum brought the taste of home. The food strikes the perfect balance, not too spicy, not bland, but bursting with flavour. The service is impeccable. If you crave Bangladeshi food or want to experience authentic Bangladeshi cuisine, Kutum is the place to be. I can already tell this will be my favourite haunt.

**First of all, Kutum Team, I must appreciate the fact that you have positioned your restaurant as Bangladeshi fusion. This was a bold & risky move, as most Bangladeshi restaurant owners I have seen in various parts of the world hesitate to associate themselves with Bangladeshi cuisine. Many fear that other ethnic communities may not be familiar with Bangladesh, making it risky to brand their restaurant as something like Bangladeshi-French fusion. After all, it's a business decision.
Salute to you for proudly representing Bangladesh & creating a name for it out there. 10/10 for business authenticity & genuineness.
Secondly, the tacos were excellent! I could taste jhuri mangsho flavors in the beef taco, beautifully blended with a Mexican touch. The shrimp taco felt like dupiyaju chingri infused with Mexican salsa. Absolutely delightful - I highly recommend them.
A small suggestion: please be a bit more attentive with seasoning in the chicken platter, though the beef platter was very good. In fact, you should consider creating a separate section on your menu for pure Bangladeshi flavors - like the beef - so people can enjoy that authentic taste as well.
Overall, well done, guys! I would highly recommend everyone to visit Kutum, support them, & help them grow even better.
la nourriture était vraiment délicieuse, notamment les épices qui donnaient parfaitement du goût!!
l'équipe est très agréable & les prix sont vraiment corrects.
Just had the best meal at Kutum Montreal - a Bengali fusion spot that seriously blew us away 😍
We tried their chicken pizza naan (so cheesy & flavourful!), the pasta bolognese with a twist of spice that hit just right, & the tiger shrimp which were juicy, perfectly cooked, & packed with flavour.
But the real surprise? Their pistachio + Nutella latte - hands down one of the best lattes I've had. So creamy, nutty, & just the right amount of sweet. I'm still thinking about it.
The vibe is super cozy & the staff were so sweet - you can tell they care about the food & the experience.
If you're in Montreal & want something different & delicious, definitely check out Kutum. It's fusion done right. 👏✨
This place really nailed it with their take on western & bengali fusion. So delicious! The music, atmosphere, feel, & service was exemplary. We'll be back for the brunch!
