I ordered the chicken samba belacan & it was amazing. I also tasted the beef Rendang & Krapow & found them both delicious. The chicken being my favourite. The prices are good & the service was excellent. Friendly staff & overall a very good experience. A little cold being close to the door, but worth the experience.

Je recommande vivement cette adresse. Les plats sont délicieux & riche en goût. Mention spécial au boeuf rendang, la viande fondait dans la bouche & était riche en saveur. Aussi la serveuse était très gentille. Ça donne envie d'y retourner.

Kudos to owner & team. The resto is tastefully decorated giving off a street vibe. Friendly service/staff & the food was hallucinating. What a celebration for your taste buds!!!!
Make sure to accompany your meal with one of their rice beers to complete your experience!!!
- Beef Krapow (delicious Thai dish made with ground beef, holy basil/krapow, garlic, & chili, all served with a mound of their signature rice, & topped with a fried egg )
- Beef Rendang (Indo-Malay dish of tender, savory beef flavored with shallots, lemongrass, garlic, chili, tamarind, & coconut milk, served with a mound of coconut lemon rice, fried shallots, & delicate pickled daikon slices

Laksa Soup 🍜 For The W!

Honestly enough can't be said about @krapow.ca located in the heart of Montreal. This unassuming spot in one of Montreal hottest neighbourhoods has been serving up delicious Thai food now for 5 delicious years. I'm just so upset at myself it took me this long to come visite!

I have to start off with one of the stars of the show the Laksa. Absolutely show stopper of a soup, can't remember the last time I've had such amazing depth of flavour in a broth. Truly beautiful balance between savory, heat & umami. A elite move if u wanna take this dish to the next level in my opinion is to add the Sambal Belacan Chicken on top. It adds a layer of crunch & texture overall to the dish that to be really adds. You can also add anyone of their 3 in house Sambals to it, all were just amazing. The noodles had amazing bounce to them, the toppings all perfectly curated. Honestly a 10/10 dish, FOODGASMIC💦 to say the least! & I like to add, everything they have is gluten free!

Next we have the Beef Rendang, origins now focusing on Indonesia & boy this dish really transported me there! It's was so flavour packed full of Spices & herbs, slowly cooked for hours & hours that the meat just feel apart in yoyr mouth. Honestly I can't believe I've only ever had this dish 3 times in my life & this time had to have been my favorite tbh. This rich, sweet & savoury Stew is just what I needed.

Last but not least we have the famous beef Krapow for what they are famous for. Honestly I've only ever had this dish made with pork so I was wondering what the difference flavour notes & textures might be. Truthfully, really pleasantly surprised. Not to much heat which was a little odd because normally every time I've had this dish it really just burns your face off. But I guess they have to keep it a little calmer for the whities LOL. But again really well balanced dish especially with the fried egg on top it really lends a richness to the entire meal you break it up & eat it all together really well done. My only thing if I were to give anything to improve or add to this dish definitely a little bit of heat, & cripier beef, but still 11/10!

See the food? ABSOLUTELY BODIED IT. My wife loved the hell out of the faux meat krapow & I couldn't agree more. I got the beef rendang while her mom got the papaya salad. & YUMMERS. Also, the lady working here is super helpful too. She even went & helped us with parking in the area since we're not local. Amazing place will definitely come again for out next visit.

Idk what the bad reviews were for, the food is amazing! 🥲 As a South East Asian, this is easily one of the best versions of Krapow & Beef Rendang I've ever had. Everything was so spot on. If you're not used to spice or bold flavours, this is probably not for you. Also loved that the presentation was translated in the takeout box. There was a bit of a wait today, but well worth it in my opinion. I couldn't stop eating, it reminded me of
home.

Seriously crave-worthy food. If you want a meal that will never disappoint you, is hearty, cozy, & comforting, just come here. All versions of the Krapow are delicious, the rendang is great. Haven't tried the laksa yet, but we order from here or get takeout probably once a month for years. We bring our friends when they visit, they always remember it as an amazing meal they want to come back to next time they visit. The staff is amazing, so kind & friendly even when they're super busy. You can see the love & care that goes into making each meal as perfect of an experience as it can possibly get. The menu does not need to be huge to achieve excellence. The new location is very nice & there are plenty of seating opportunities. If it's full, there's a big park next door with seating so you're never really in a pickle. Nearby to the Mont Royal metro station on the orange line.

Came here with a group of 4 for Lunch, can confidently say as an Indonesian, the food reminded me of home. Definitely recommend the Beef Rendang & the Beef Krapow. Will come again!

🚨 Déménagement

Krapow est maintenant situé dans l’ancien local du Tampopo (voir photos).

Ça fait depuis leurs débuts que je fréquente Krapow, nourriture d’inspiration indonésienne, thaïe & malaisienne. Nourriture originale, relevée & saveurs recherchées. Bonnes portions. Le nouvel local quadruple l’espace pour y manger à l’intérieur.

Je vous recommande le bœuf Rendang ou le poulet Sambal Belacan. Approx $25 taxes & service.

Fortement recommandé, un des meilleurs sur Ave Mont-Royal depuis un moment.
