I'm filing a formal complaint... against my own lack of self-control.
I honestly came here just for a quick bite on Décarie, but Koyo Sushi clearly had other plans for me. I am currently writing this while suffering from a severe food coma, & I have zero regrets.
Let's talk about the Sashimi (see my photos if you don't believe me).
Usually, when you order salmon at mid-range spots, you get these sad, paper-thin slices that look like they've been on a diet. But here? Look at that orange color. That is high-definition fish. The slices were so thick they should honestly charge rent. The fat marbling was perfect-it literally just dissolved on my tongue. I almost ordered a second round, but I needed to save room for the rolls, which was a dangerous decision.
The Rolls:
I don't know what kind of engineering degree the chef has, but the structural integrity of these rolls is impressive considering how much topping they piled on.
The Spicy Crab & Tobiko one: It's a mountain of crab meat. A literal mountain. The popping texture of the fish eggs mixed with the creamy crab? Unfairly good.
The Crispy Onion one: This was the MVP. The crunch from the onions vs. the soft rice & spicy mayo... it's a texture bomb. It's messy, it's saucy, & it's exactly what sushi should be. None of that dry, boring stuff.
The Vibe & Service:
The place was buzzing, which is usually a good sign (never trust an empty sushi restaurant, right?). The staff were running around like ninjas making sure everyone got fed. They didn't hover over me, which I appreciate because I prefer to inhale my food in peace.
Verdict:
If you are on a diet, do not come here. You will fail.
If you like eating generous portions of fresh fish until you can't walk straight, this is your spot.
I'm definitely coming back, but I might need to wear stretchier pants next time. 10/10 would recommend.

Too much variation & food choices & none were perfectly made, have all kind of Chinese food & dim sum... But none of quality
The only good dish we really like are the beef skewers... A bit disappointed for the price.

Exceptional service but below average food
The sushi fish are kind fresh but tasteless

Koyo Sushi is a solid spot if you're craving for sushi! They were really tasty, the fish was fresh & there was a good variety to choose from. Everything can quickly & the service was friendly! Definitely worth a visit!
