Our visit to Koyo turned out very dissapointing! Overpriced for the quality of food we received.. 100$ for two people was not worth it at all.
The sushi was not the greatest, especially the dragon eye maki which is fried was cold! The pad thai tasted more like ginger than anything else & the chow mein noodles were very salty!
As for dumplings, they had one choice & that was the peanut butter dumplings.. Service was ok, waiters were friendly! Atmosphere was ok as well but it was cold in there, i had to keep my jacket on!
Unfortunately, left dissapointed & will not be returning! Best of luck!
The service is the slowest i've ever experienced! It took them so long for each order! The food quality it not the best as well! We'll not come back again!
Honestly, the best all you can eat sushi in the area.
The service is great & for an all you can eat restaurant the quality food is amazingly good!!!
Too much variation & food choices & none were perfectly made, have all kind of Chinese food & dim sum... But none of quality
The only good dish we really like are the beef skewers... A bit disappointed for the price.
Exceptional service but below average food
The sushi fish are kind fresh but tasteless
Best service, all staff are very attentive, nice & helpful.
They can get extremely busy thus I often come early when they open.
Hot dishes are self served & it s a huge advantage, we can control our portions,& try all different dishes.
High Quality sushi .
Personally I prefer to come for dinner. Much more choices.
We were extremely disappointed with the food & service quality tonight. We visited this restaurant for the first time in October, & everything was much better then. We returned tonight for a second visit-& will never come back again.
1) Food:
Everything was either too sweet or too salty.
- All of the sushi sauces were overly sweet, which made the taste overwhelming & unpleasant.
- The noodles were hard & far too sweet for a noodle dish.
- The grilled meat & skewers were also excessively sweet. I felt like I had eaten dessert for the entire meal instead of real food.
- The fried shrimp were acceptable the first time, but the second time they added a thick white sauce that looked unappetizing, as if it had been accidentally dropped on the dish.
- The fried food tasted old & unpleasant. We ordered two pieces of fried chicken but could only finish one; the other was left untouched, as shown in the photo.
- The bucket of green tea ice cream was almost empty, but no one refilled it. Additionally, the small metal bucket for ice cream spoons contained old, stagnant water; there was no running water to refresh it, making the water look very unappealing.
We drank a lot of water because everything was overwhelmingly sweet & salty in a bad way. As a result, we couldn't eat much of the food.
2) Orders:
We did not receive everything we ordered & had to re-order several items twice.
3) Service:
The staff were friendly but not professional. We chose a table, & a waitress checked her iPad to confirm it was not reserved, then seated us there. After we had been eating for about five minutes, a manager (I assume) asked us to move because the table was actually reserved. This was clearly their mistake, yet no one helped us move to another table.
After being seated at the new table, we were unable to place orders on the iPad after about 20 minutes. We asked one waiter to check it; he said he would ask someone else, but no one came for over 10 minutes. We then asked a second waiter, who finally reset the iPad for us.
When I left the table to get dessert & returned, the table was still covered with dirty plates. No one had cleared it. I had to move everything to the left side of the table (as shown in the photo) because I sat on the right side of the table just to enjoy my dessert.
When we sat down, the restaurant had only a few occupied tables, & it was still only half full when we left, yet the service was slow!
4) Price:
The total was $101 for two people after tax, before tip, which is completely unreasonable given the poor food & service quality.
I visited this restaurant for the sushi (I didn't try the Chinese buffet), & overall the experience was okay. The atmosphere is really nice & the staff ,especially one waiter was very kind & attentive, which I really appreciated.
That said, the sushi itself could definitely be improved. I ordered mostly nigiris, makis, & salt & pepper shrimps , & while the quality wasn't bad, it wasn't the freshest either. I've had better elsewhere, so I hope the restaurant can step up the freshness & overall quality of the sushi in the future.
Still, the service & ambiance make it a pleasant place to visit
We almost come here every month , Sahimi is our favorite thing, it's so fresh & the quality is super good. The waiters provide super good services.
I don't complain often & certainly don't complain to complain. I am not new to all you can eat sushi either. No reservations for groups under 5 people. Not so convenient if you dont want to eat at 17h30. Terrible food with the exception of a few items. The salmon tasted cheap at best. Any sushi with salmon in it had the same awful taste. Anything tempura was heavy with grease, & the taste was terrible, almost like the oil should have been changed a long time ago. Or too many different things were fried with the same oil. I can't pinpoint exactly what is was, but it was off for sure. 100%. Service was outstanding. Food turnover in buffet part was excellent. & surprisingly not crowded. We were pushed out after a certain time as they said they needed to turn the table over. I get it, it was busy, but Jesus, I was still eating dessert. I personally think it was extremely over priced for the quality. Save your money. There are better AYCE sushi places. Oh & it is'bring your own wine' which can add value to the outing but, somehow, I missed that fact. Been there, done it, never going back.
Awesome experience ! Would see the opening soon sign while driving past Decarie & very pleased I was finally able to try it. The restaurant did not take reservations when I went because there was a promo going on (unsure if they take res now) so if you are a big group I would highly suggest going early (expect a wait). The food is delicious & quality amazing for an AYCE sushi spot so much so that I went back to back days. Added to my weekly visit list.
Overall, a must try.
Great options. While you're waiting for your sushi, there's a mini buffet that you can get food from in the meantime. I enjoyed what they have. Compared to other buffets, the quality was pretty good. The sushi itself are good sizes too. The concept is great! I prefer it over the restaurant it was previous to it. Even if it gets really busy, the staff was great & gave us what we needed.
