Had a lovely meal at Khyber Pass! The Kabuli Pulaw with lamb & the mantu were both delicious. The portion sizes were generous & the prices were reasonable, especially for the area.
Our waiter was fantastic. The atmosphere was relaxed, & the terrace seating was a really nice touch, especially on a pleasant evening.
I do wish they served bolani & chapli kebab, which are some of our favorite Afghan dishes & would round out the menu nicely. Interestingly, most of the diners were not Afghan. Would go back if in Montreal!View more
😁View more
My husband & I were craving Afghan food & this hit the spot! The ambiance, food & service were all great. We really liked the lentil soup & the noodle soup which were both delicious starters. The afghan hospitality was on full display as they accompanied our firnee with cups of chai!View more
First time trying Afghan restaurant & the meals we had were absolutely delicious!
The service was amazing & the atmosphere was authentic from the decor, to the music & even the temperature.
100% recommend the combos that include the appetizer, meal & dessertView more
Delicious traditional afghan food & very cool atmosphere. Maybe I'm biased because I'm half afghan, but I loved it! The lamb shank withe the kabuli palaw was so tender. I recommend get one of the table d'hote options for someone with a big appetite & wants to try the soup, maybe an appetizer, & desser with tea or coffee. Very cute patioView more
Not only the best Afghan food I've ever had, but probably one of the best MEALS I've ever had in my life. Everything down to the last kernel of rice was aromatic, delectably spiced, & tender. I previously had a favorite lentil soup at another place, but Khyber Pass has dethroned that other lentil soup. The rose pudding was creamy & comforting.
The service was rapid & impeccable.
This is definitely a restaurant/cuisine for you if you appreciate cardamom.
I will say that the menu is mostly focused on meat dishes, however, I actually did an entirely vegetarian spread when I went, & it was scrumptious. I was also pleasantly surprised by the post-dinner tea. I am very much a snob about tea, so often expect to be disappointed by something served in a restaurant, but it was really nice & smooth.View more
After an 8-hour journey, all I needed was a good meal that felt like home. I searched for an Afghan restaurant in Montreal & ended up at Khyber Pass - & honestly, it was the best decision I made that day.
No waiting... The staff was super welcoming & kind, which already set the vibe right. Then came the food… & it blew me away. The flavors were so authentic, it genuinely felt like I was back home for a moment. I had been craving that exact taste for so long, & nowhere else hit the mark like this place did.
Everything - from the atmosphere to the service to the food - was simply amazing. Highly, highly recommend it if you're looking for a real Afghan food experience in Montreal.View more
My first time trying Afghan food & it's so good!! we ordered Set 2 (comes with soup, main course, dessert, & tea/coffee) & everything was delicious. Also, I don't normally like lamb but I heard that it's really good here, so I ordered it & it's the first lamb I've actually enjoyed! The pistachio rose pudding was absolutely heavenly & the tea was so floral & spiced!View more
Best Afghan food, high quality food! I did not know Afghan food before this & I have not been able to find another Afghan restaurant that matches the quality here. Highly recommend!View more
The best Afghan halal option in Montreal! We have tried many Afghan restaurants throughout Ontario but this one is the best & top of all!View more
View more
It was my first time trying Afghan cuisine & I was pleasantly surprised! The lamb dish was tasty & generous. The ambiance felt cozy & traditional. Nice experience!View more
The best Afghan restaurant I have ever tried. Hands down. Their Kabili is 10/10. Chicken kebabs is also 10/10.View more
Stumbled across this place while exploring the neighborhood on a visit to Montreal, & went in because we had never tried Afghan cuisine. Lucky for us they had 1 unreserved table. My wife & I each had a different lamb shank dish, & the lentil soup. From the flatbread they brought to the table, to the soup & the entrees, everything was exquisite. Khyber Pass was a definite highlight of out trip to Montreal. If we go back to the city, this restaurant will definitely be on the itinerary.View more
We had a wonderful experience at this Afghan restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious-full of authentic flavors & perfectly cooked. The staff were incredibly caring & attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy amazing Afghan cuisine in a warm & welcoming atmosphere!View more
Nestled in the heart of Montreal, Khyber Pass offers an authentic taste of Afghan cuisine that delights the senses. The lamb kebab & shank are simply excellent - tender, flavourful, & perfectly seasoned. The rice, infused with interesting spices, complements the dishes beautifully. The table d'hote menu provided a generous selection at a very fair price, making it a great value for money. One of the highlights is the beautiful terrasse in the back, providing a peaceful & charming ambiance for outdoor dining. For drinks, it is BYOB, maybe add some non-alcoholic beer? Just a thought 😊. The cardamom-infused green tea is fabulous, but served in a small cup, & the waiter did not offer a refill, which was a slight letdown. Despite this, the overall experience at Khyberpass was delightful, & it is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore Afghan flavours in Montreal.View more
I recently dined at Afghanic Restaurant & had an exceptional experience. The ambiance was warm & inviting, & the food was incredibly flavorful, offering a delightful taste of authentic Afghan cuisine. Mobeen's hospitality stood out the most; he made us feel right at home with his attentive & friendly service. It's rare to find such genuine & personalized attention. I highly recommend Afghanic Restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy great food & outstanding service.View more

Delicious Afghan restaurant, amazing 🤩 service & friendly staff 😋👍😎View more
My first Afghan dish experience & we weren't disappointed! Food was great & the menu offers very decent choices. Ambiance is pretty nice & very Montreal-esque. It was a great night to eat & enjoy a good wine, with good company 😊 Service makes a difference as well. Our waiter was very friendly, hard worker & listened to us like a person. He took time even it was busy. I recommend this place & will come back...hopefully before summer ends to enjoy the Terrace.View more
View more
Khyber Pass offers authentic Afghan cuisine served in a charming cave-like setting with stone walls, creating a memorable & intimate atmosphere. The menu features traditional dishes bursting with rich flavors & aromatic spices. The attentive service enhances the dining experience, making it a standout choice for exploring Afghan culinary delights in Montreal. A must try for those visiting.View more
Première expérience pour cuisine afghane. Excellent! View more
Best afghan food I've ever had. The kebabs are SO juicy. I just wish they didn't run out of ingredients all the time...View more
View more
As an afghan girl myself who consumed afghan food all my life, i can confirm that this passed the vibes check & did hit the spot for the only time i didn't wanted to cook at home. The aush, the mantoo, the banjan borani & the kofta chalaw were 10/10. Very mazadar tashaku khyber teamView more
I recently dined at Khyber Pass, an Afghan restaurant, & had a mixed experience. The lentil soup was delicious, & the Korma chalaw offered a variety of rice, though it was just okay & not much tasty, & the rice was a bit cold. The rose water pudding & tea were delightful. It's a small venue, so reservations are recommended. However, the overall experience felt overpriced. Bring your wine, as the restaurant doesn't offer alcoholic drinks.View more
Great spot for Afghan food in the mile end. I had the table d’hôte with Kabuli Palaw. The lamb was tender & fall off the bone, the rice was very flavourful. The rose pistachio pudding was delicious. BYOB, good portion size & the staff were kind & attentive.View more
