had the fish cutlet & soba tonkatsu set at Katsuya. Among all the fish cutlets I've ever tried, this one is by far the best. The fish was thick, moist, & perfectly complemented by the crispy breadcrumbs-truly the ultimate fish cutlet experience.
The soba tonkatsu set came with slightly thinner cutlets than regular tonkatsu, which was a bit of a downside. However, it paired wonderfully with the refreshing cold noodles. If you're looking for a thicker, juicier cutlet, I recommend going for the Rosu Katsu set instead.
I definitely plan to visit again.View more

A nice place, if you looooove Katsu! Their plates are very big for the price & it is soooo good! I craved Tonkatsu from Japan & I wasn't disappointed. I ate the sweet chili katsu & drank the homemade lemonade ❤? Keep it going guys, it is very very good 🫶View more

As we stepped into the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed by the two waitresses & they were both friendly & patient serving us throughout the night. They took the time to explain us their menu & give us their recommendations & it made the dining experience so much more enjoyable. The food was great. I was surprised by the level of spiciness in the carbonara udon since spicy Japanese food is usually not that spicy. I really liked the kick it gave & it added nicely to the flavours. The carbonara udon I had was quite enjoyable with the thick & creamy sauce which complemented the noodles so well. I do feel like if the tempura shrimp was a bit crispier, it would have been even more amazing. Regardless, I would love to come back & try more of their items in their menu because so many of them looks interesting & delicious.View more

View more

Jai pris le curry katsu porc divinView more
It was okay, but I was quite disappointed. The tonkatsu was a bit overcooked & dry, the rice was straight out bad. Lettuce was fine, portion size quite large. The sauce had good flavour notes but I felt like it was a bit too acidic. All in all, it's acceptable but not the high quality I was hoping for to match the ones I had in Japan. EDIT: tried again, the pork was a bit better this time & the rice was decent. Not Japan quality, but miles better than anything else in Montreal. The'japanese sauce' remains way too acidic, tastes almost only like vinegar. Next time I'll try another sauce I guess.View more
