They took the time to explain us their menu & give us their recommendations & it made the dining experience so much more enjoyable. The food was great. I was surprised by the level of spiciness in the carbonara udon since spicy Japanese food is usually not that spicy. I really liked the kick it gave & it added nicely to the flavours. The carbonara udon I had was quite enjoyable with the thick & creamy sauce which complemented the noodles so well. I do feel like if the tempura shrimp was a bit crispier, it would have been even more amazing. Regardless, I would love to come back & try more of their items in their menu because so many of them looks interesting & delicious.View more
Amazing food I've never tried anything like it! The udon Katsuya was different in a very good way! Takoyaki was to die for! I've tried many takoyakis in different restaurants but this one definitely tops its off! Very hospitable staff as well they are so nice!View more
I was craving fried chicken & happened to glance at the menu from outside-instantly, it caught my attention. I'm so glad I decided to give this spot a try! The Udon Katsuya (a comforting soup) was absolutely amazing. We also had the takoyaki, & hands down, it's the best I've had in the city-& I've tried plenty. Of course, we couldn't leave without ordering the Supreme Sweet Chili Chicken Katsu, & it did not disappoint. Everything was bursting with flavor. I'm 100% coming back!View more
If you're looking for a top-notch katsu place that's worth every penny, this is it - KATSUYA!!! From the moment you walk in, the service is welcoming & incredibly fast, without ever compromising on quality. The staff is friendly, attentive, & more than happy to answer any questions about the ingredients-full transparency, which is rare to find these days.
Now, the food-absolutely perfect every single time. The katsu is crispy, golden, & perfectly cooked, with a juicy & flavorful interior. Whether you go for the classic pork, chicken, or even a specialty option, every bite is a delight. The sides & sauces are just as impressive, elevating the meal to another level.
Consistency is key, & they nail it. Every visit feels like the first, with the same delicious flavors & high standards. If you're a katsu lover or even just looking for a great meal, this place is a must-visit. 5 stars, no hesitation!
PS: My go-to is either Rose Katsu (Fish) or Rose Udon (shrimp). You're welcome! ✌?😊View more
I really enjoyed the rose udon. The service was great & the waitress was so sweet. Definitely a comfort spot & will for sure come again!View more
Second time here with friends, we had an amazing time. I took the supreme original pork katsu & there was 2 pieces so the price is quite fair for the quantity. The client service was really good ! They have unlimited refills of udon soup, salad & rice 😏 I took 4 refills of soup, one of salad & one of rice & they all came out really quickly !View more
It's my first time trying Katsuya. The Udon soup (free refils by the way) is so good! Would recommend, bring up family & friends!View more
Great customer service, good food & quick service! They have free refills for udon soup, rice & salads which is nice. Highly recommend!View more
I tried the Rosé toppoki chicken katsu & Katsuya udon. Both of them were tasty. The toppoki was spicy & really good with the katsu. The broth of the katsuya udon was really good & it's pretty great for decreasing the spicy from the rosé toppoki. It was just that the service that was a bit slow because there was only one staff that taking the order & cleaning the tables. Overall, the food was tasty.View more
We went here for a dinner to celebrate. We ordered the Gold & Silver Brick Katsu & Udon noodle soup. It was delicious & fresh. They gave me the original Katsu for free as their apology because of the 6-7 minute delay of service. I didn't ask for it, their customer service is just simply superb!View more
The service was amazing, despite it being very busy we were served quickly & efficiently. Our waitress was kind & informative when we had questions. The menu was fine, had options of all sorts for different diets & it told you off the bat how spicy it was, if it was vegetarian or if it had pork etc & that was nice. The food itself wasn't great. The carbonara udon simply tasted like buldak noodles with add-ons & the katsu was crispy but nothing really special. The cheese balls were pretty good, but we didn't like the other chicken entee we got. My friends & I wouldn't go again, but we definitely didn't regret going as it was a nice experience to haveView more
Amazing place! I ended up going twice within a week because I kept wanting to try out more of their menu items. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys korean & japanese fusion. Every order comes with a serving of their udon soup which also tastes amazing.View more

Super place! The udon was great. I will come backView more
Not too busy on a thursdsy evening. the room ambiance is not too loud but not too quiet. it is perfect location for catching up or just enjoy each other presence. service was exceptional. the two lady server were really kind & patient today. they were always ready to help customers. me & my partner took udons & it might be the best thing out of the menu imo. so tasty with so much ingredient. it's far from bland. & the best thing that i would recommend for everyone if they pass by would be teriyaki, SO SO SO yummy, the best in montreal! crunchy & flavoury in every single corner.View more
The udon was sooo gooood it was very full filling. I went on next day to have the same & the cheese balls was on some sweeter sideView more
service was nice & attentive. the complimentary udon soup that came with our meal was so good we had thirds of it. original katsu was rly good! super crispy, not dry, flavourful curry. not as much of a fan of the brick cheese katsu, you get a lot less meat, which is replaced with cheese thats a bit bland imo. even with the ketchup-like dip.. didnt love it. the red carbonara udon is more spicy than anything, but i liked it on the side!! a lil expensive but i would still wanna come back to try their other udons + their cheeseballs (loved this too, was super cheesy) & for their original katsu :)View more
Everything was so so good & it's amongst my top restaurants in Montreal! Service was friendly & fast. I recommend that you go in the morning, as soon as it opens to secure a spot & to get the best service :) Dishes that I recommend : - Cheeseballs : fan of cheesepulls & mocchi like texture? This is THE appetizer for you. Plus, they add honey butter powder on top, which makes it so addicting! - Brick cheese gold & silver katsu : if you visit Katsuya, you have to take this (it's like their signature dish & why they are so popular!) - Original sweet potato cheese katsu : it was recommended by the owner as this is his favorite dish. I must say, it's mine too now! - Finally, as a udon lover, their udon dishes are so worth it! If I have a udon craving, I could see myself coming back for it.View more
The restaurant has a very welcoming atmosphere. We were treated to free miso soup & free whatever that thing with the jalapeno is. The cheese balls have a nice chewy texture to it alongside a sweet kick. The katsu was cooked to perfection. My friend ordered the red carbonara udon as well. It was too spicy for my liking. The rice was fluffy & the coleslaw was delicious.View more
