I was happy to find the quality of the food here still amazing after 7 months. The prices are still as intimidating as ever & I was a bit surprised at first to see that their gourmet combo was for take out only but they allowed us to order it for dine in as well. Once again, the quality of the ingredients were outstanding. They were fresh, genereous in size & skillfully prepared. In fact, every pieces of sushi are much bigger than others from other sushi restaurants, it took half the pieces to get me full. The service however was not the best. The waitress was respectful but she seemed a bit impatient & not that friendly or welcoming. We did go in the restaurant 45 mins before closing so that might be why she wasn't as enthusiastic to serve our table.
(7 months ago) I tried their gourmet combo & I have to say that I find a 45$ combo for one person to be quite expensive. I would have liked to see a few more unique or expensive cuts for the nigiri or the sashimi considering the price. Still, I was not disappointed by the food & it was truly outstanding. I really enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients, the play in texture in the bigger roll & my favourite piece, the fresh scallop sushi. All the ingredients are splendid which makes their sushi that much better than a lot of other restaurants. Furthermore, their soya sauce has a flawless amount of saltiness & umami flavours to me. It's at the point where it doesn't overpower the flavours of the ingredients themselves & adds a layer of depth to the food which was terrific. I do feel like a little bit more sweetness would be even better but then it does come down to personal preferences. I am also delighted to see that they separated the mayo instead of putting it all over the sushi like plenty of other restaurants which ruins the flavours for me. Personally, I woupd love to eat more of that gourmet combo but it is difficult at that price. I definitely want to try their less expensive combos when I have the chance to see if the quality is also on par which their gourmet one.

Le sushi est tellement bon que nous en avons commandé 3 fois dans le même mois. Nous avons reçu 30 personnes & les plateaux préparés par le chef & son équipe ont largement dépassé nos attentes. Selon moi, les sushis & sashimis sont les meilleurs sur la rive sud de Montréal.
Phenomenal sushi place in Solar, without exaggeration one of the best around Montreal. After trying many of the sushi spots in Montreal, I can safely say for those who know the brand it is way better than Ryu!

On point-it adds to the atmosphere, making it a chill place to enjoy your meal. The staff? A1 service-everyone's friendly & attentive, making sure you're taken care of without hovering too much. Now, let's talk about the food. For the price, you're getting some seriously fire sushi 🔥. The flavors & presentation are on another level, better than you'd expect for what you're paying. It's that perfect balance of quality & value. & the sushi dessert? Oh man, it's a must-try. The dessert is like sushi, but sweet-it's creative, light, & the perfect way to wrap up the meal. Honestly, the place nails it on every front. Highly recommend if you're after great sushi without breaking the bank!
Yesterday was my second time at Kampai Sushi, & this restaurant tucked away in Brossard remains the best sushi I have ever eaten. The location is excellent being very close to a REM station.

Chaque année, je fais deux heures de route pour fêter mon anniversaire dans ce restaurant d'exception. Je vous assure que le déplacement en vaut toujours la peine ! Dès notre entrée dans le restaurant, nous avons été chaleureusement accueillis par le propriétaire lui-même. Il a veillé à ce que nous nous sentions les bienvenus & a répondu à tous nos besoins, s'assurant que nous étions entièrement satisfaits de notre expérience culinaire. Mais ce qui distingue vraiment Kampai Sushi, c'est son ambiance époustouflante. Le restaurant lui-même est visuellement magnifique. C'est le parfait endroit pour se détendre & se laisser tenter par un repas inoubliable. Nous commandons toujours nos trois plats préférés - Pizza Deluxe, Samurai & Spider - & laissez-moi vous dire que ce sont de véritables chefs-d'oeuvre. Tout est préparé à la perfection, frais à la commande & présenté avec élégance. En fait, vous pouvez regarder le chef préparer votre repas sous vos yeux ! L'attention portée aux détails & à la qualité transparaît dans chaque bouchée. J'ai eu le plaisir de manger dans de nombreux restaurants de sushis au fil des ans, mais aucun ne parvient à rivaliser avec Kampai Sushi.Les portions sont généreuses, les prix sont raisonnables compte tenu de la qualité des plats, & vous en avez vraiment pour votre argent, si ce n'est plus! Si vous n'êtes toujours pas convaincu, je vous invite à regarder la photo d'un des délicieux plats qui nous a été servi. Under appreciated restaurant I think. Probably the best sushi restaurant i've seen in montreal area. It's a bit on the pricey side though & the service can be a little clumsy.
Excellent sushis, surtout considérant que je suis arrivée peu avant la fermeture & ai simplement demandé « ce qui restait, ou un choix du chef » pour emporter.
