Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish! This was easily one of the best sushi meals I've had. Everything arrived fresh, beautifully presented, & packed with flavor. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients, & every dish exceeded my expectations.
We ordered quite a variety, & every single item was outstanding. The Hawaiian Signature Roll had the perfect balance of sweet & savory flavors with incredibly fresh ingredients. The Volcano Roll was delicious, with just the right amount of spice & a crispy texture that made every bite amazing. The Trio Sake was unbelievably fresh, buttery, & melted in your mouth. The Tempura Roll was perfectly crispy without being greasy, & the Dynamite Roll was packed with flavor & had an amazing combination of textures.
The appetizers were just as impressive. The Edamame was perfectly seasoned, the Fried Calamari was light, crispy, & tender, & the Grilled Dumplings were juicy, flavorful, & cooked to perfection.
The Mango Tango drink was refreshing, fruity, & paired perfectly with the meal. We also tried the Spider Roll, which was loaded with crispy soft-shell crab & was absolutely delicious. The Hamachi (Yellowtail) & Yellowtail Tuna were some of the freshest sashimi I've ever had-rich, buttery, & incredibly smooth.
On top of the amazing food, the service was exceptional. The staff were welcoming, friendly, attentive, & made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was clean, modern, & relaxing, making it the perfect place to enjoy a great meal.
Overall, Kampai Sushi exceeded every expectation. From the appetizers to the sushi, drinks, & service, everything was flawless. If you're looking for fresh, high-quality sushi with outstanding service & an amazing atmosphere, I can't recommend this place enough. We'll definitely be coming back again & again! 🍣❤?
we ordered the 2 people combo+sake & tea, in total about 170$ all in. We were not so full but ok. Food quality is average. What surprised us are the hygence. At first, we found the napkins are dirty with yellowish stains on it. Then later when eating the soup, my husband noticed his white plastic spoon had obvious red lipstick mark on it while grossed us out. Besides that, they asked us to share the saucer for soya sauce since they ran out of it, then told us no teapot cover if ordering tea....
I came by a couple of weeks ago & ordered the chirashi bowl. It was excellent, fresh, delicious, & beautifully prepared. So many varieties of fish & seafood. I had nothing negative to say.
It was so good that I came back & ordered the exact same dish. I rarely write reviews, & usually only when I have something positive to share. But this time, the experience was completely different. It was honestly the worst chirashi bowl I've ever seen. The fish didn't smell fresh, the color seemed off, & the cuts were super inconsistent, some pieces even looked as if they had been chewed & spat back into the bowl. Quality & Quantity were completely out of the window.
It was very disappointing, especially considering how great my first visit was. I'm not sure how the quality could vary so drastically. I ate most of it & left all the pieces that were highly questionable, I'm genuinely hoping I don't feel sick later tonight. I'll let you guys judge by looking at the pictures.
Unfortunately, I won't be returning.
Had a lovely experience here, great fresh sushi with lovely service. The prices are fair for the quality & the employees are extremely welcoming, will be coming back.
I was happy to find the quality of the food here still amazing after 7 months. The prices are still as intimidating as ever & I was a bit surprised at first to see that their gourmet combo was for take out only but they allowed us to order it for dine in as well. Once again, the quality of the ingredients were outstanding. They were fresh, genereous in size & skillfully prepared. In fact, every pieces of sushi are much bigger than others from other sushi restaurants, it took half the pieces to get me full. The service however was not the best. The waitress was respectful but she seemed a bit impatient & not that friendly or welcoming. We did go in the restaurant 45 mins before closing so that might be why she wasn't as enthusiastic to serve our table.
(7 months ago) I tried their gourmet combo & I have to say that I find a 45$ combo for one person to be quite expensive. I would have liked to see a few more unique or expensive cuts for the nigiri or the sashimi considering the price. Still, I was not disappointed by the food & it was truly outstanding. I really enjoyed the freshness of the ingredients, the play in texture in the bigger roll & my favourite piece, the fresh scallop sushi. All the ingredients are splendid which makes their sushi that much better than a lot of other restaurants. Furthermore, their soya sauce has a flawless amount of saltiness & umami flavours to me. It's at the point where it doesn't overpower the flavours of the ingredients themselves & adds a layer of depth to the food which was terrific. I do feel like a little bit more sweetness would be even better but then it does come down to personal preferences. I am also delighted to see that they separated the mayo instead of putting it all over the sushi like plenty of other restaurants which ruins the flavours for me. Personally, I woupd love to eat more of that gourmet combo but it is difficult at that price. I definitely want to try their less expensive combos when I have the chance to see if the quality is also on par which their gourmet one.
I LOVE this place. Very high quality sushi! I am so happy that I live 2 min from this place. I highly recommend for anyone who wants to eat high quality fresh sushi!!! & amazing service xox
