I had dinner at JIAO two nights in a row. A friend & I were visiting Montreal & a local recommended JIAO. They did not disappoint. I had the vegetable Chow Mein with mushrooms & veggies & my friend had the wings & the beef & broccoli. We were both very impressed. The next night I had the vegetable fried rice & he again had the wings & the dumplings. I highly recommend. The manager was so welcoming & friendly to us!
I needed a late meal after happy hour & this place was perfect. Margarita was delicious & the general Tao with steamed rice was amazing. The music & ambiance made for a perfect chill & lounge experience. I will be back!
If u r a tourist, doesn't care much about authentic Chinese food, cares more about chilling at a bar over overpriced food, fine.
But as a Chinese who cares about food, it would be stupid to EAT there again. I have no issue with it's service & environment. While for the food, it's basically a westernized bar serving FAKE Chinese dishes. To make the matter worse, it's stupidly overpriced & tasting boring. 3 chicken wings costed 27$ + tax & NO rice ! How lucrative is that? & want rice? Sure, 5$ a tiny bowl! How about other things? Yea, 4 fried dumplings for $20 🤯I've been to countless bars serving foods, but rarely had I had foods so overpriced in such places.
The service was absolutely amazing! Daniel serve us & his warmth really made the experience. The food had great portion sizes but it was a bit pricey. The edamame was fire & the fire rice was boom as well !
6 of us sat at the curved bar, right at the entrance for a birthday! Exceptional service from Daniel the bartender, he was attentive & sincere during our entire experience (bonus: he waived the cost of rice & dessert for the birthday guest)! Huge thanks to his hospitality & coordinating the special presentation of the dessert! We were surprised with how much we liked the food - especially the duck tacos presented on cucumber bases (clever), & the chow fun beef noodles were delicious! Excellent marg, & front of house staff were great with refreshing plates & waters given it was a full house. The DJ's set was incredible Saturday night, R&B throwbacks & hiphop, couldn't help but dance in our seats. Really great experience, happy to return again!
Great food! We ordered way too much after looking at too many things that looked good on the menu! Everything we got was really tasty. I had a craving for fried rice which is what got us there & I was very satisfied when we left. The manager got us in without a reso & the support staff were killing it all night!
Beautiful bar with insanely great chinese fusion! My server Lena was absolutely amazing & constantly checked up on me to make sure everything was fine! Lena told me they were known for shumai & dumplings so I ended up ordering a wonton rose soup & it was AMAZING; I have never had any soup with such delicious broth so make SURE to get it! The fried rice was a little underwhelming & a little cold; but it was still good. The eggroll & peking duck buns are also great.
I am glad we went to eat at Jiao Dim Sum Bar at 7pm. The food portions were small but big in size. Delicious Sui Mia, Gyoza, Lobster Dumplings but the winner of the night was the Royal Louis fried rice!! As the night progressed, it started getting packed & the music got louder.
Service, presentation of food & drinks were A1
Wagyu beef from the rice noodle rolls needs improvement
Otherwise really nice atmosphere. Nice mgmt. Would return!
