Very sophisticated food: things that one may think they have tasted before (like tuna sashimi) is elevated to a much higher experience with refined sauces & unique ingredients. Even the cocktails are a notch above. Good service with the specialists of various parts of kitchen bringing out the food & explaining it. I left a slightly lower note for the atmosphere as the ventilation seems to not cope with summer heat, & some areas are quieter & more relaxing than others (like near the bar where we were sitting).
You can never go wrong with having an incredibly delicious meal at Jatoba. From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave every need is catered, & every bite of food is a delicious experience in the mouth & soul. Love this place.!
Un restaurant paisible, à l'ambiance raffinée. Le personnel était aux petits soins, disponible & de très bons conseils. Nous voulions mélanger nos choix de nourriture pour un format dégustation en amoureux, le chef de table nous a recommandé quoi prendre & à quel moment selon nos goûts. C'était goûteux, exquis. Rien à rajouter, la cuisson impeccable, l'assaisonnement aussi, tout était délicieux & de qualité. Nous reviendrons certainement !

Hands down the best restaurant we've been to in Montreal. From the chic decor & vibrant atmosphere to the impeccable service & incredible food, Jatoba sets the bar high. Chef Olivier personally attended to us, offering a chef's recommendation menu that allowed us to sample some of the finest dishes on offer. Every plate was a delightful masterpiece, showcasing extraordinary flavors & culinary skill. Highly recommend Jatoba for an unforgettable dining experience.
Beautiful setting with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The food & cocktails were nothing short of exceptional, perfectly balancing traditional & modern Japanese flavors. The staff were both friendly & professional, with spot-on recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. Highly recommended!
Excellent repas, service & ambiance. On y était pour une soirée d'anniversaire & la soirée était parfaite. Absolument tous les plats étaient délicieux (dumpling, sushi, agneau, canard, morue, bar rayé, boeuf wagyu, etc.). J'aimerais aussi mentionner les cocktails signatures qui était très bien.

Lovely meal but a bit rushed. Edamame was brought out with cocktails as ordered, then sashimi, then 5 other dishes at once. The four of us were done in an hour, so we ordered dessert. Would have preferred the other dishes spaced out maybe one or two at a time. We understand there is a 2-hour limit for seating, but to be done after 1 hour at a nice restaurant seems unnecessary.
Une très belle soirée avec des amis avec de bons plats. Une très bonne cuisine en général. Certains plats ont déçu; les crevettes tempura qui était beaucoup plus friture que crevettes & le dumpling crabe & homard ne nous a pas impressionné. Les choix végétariens étaient très bons. Le service a été extraordinaire. Je ne voulais pas mettre 4 étoiles, j'aurais mis 4,5 mais nous aimons beaucoup le restaurant donc je vais rester a 5.
One of top choice if you looking for a high-quality dining experience. Complex flavors highly praised. The dumplings, tataki & the confit duck are delicious. Very professional service & very attentive staff
