I was there for lunch with a group. I had the miso soup & sashimi lunch express. The sashimi isn't served the traditional Japanese way with wasabi, & yet the ginger & the sauce made it very delicious. The side salad of kohlrabi was super fresh & it had such a nice crunch. The mocktail aloha jatoba is a nice drink if you like fruity taste. The restaurant has beautiful decor & excellent service. There's a complimentary coat room at the reception. An excellent idea for winter!
The whole experience was absurdly fun & wonderful, very enjoyable staff members, food is just delightful & the cocktails are really special for the type of establishment they are running.
The inside decor fits the theme perfectly & it feels like a whole atmosphere to eat in.
Only'bad' point about my dining experience, the waitress never gave us the dessert card, another waiter came & offered it, seeing as the waitress assigned to my table was busy, but I personally don't consider it a negative point, simply shows that they all work together in a team at Jatoba.
Definitely go for the experience.

Facile à trouver. Décor sympa. Serveur compétent. Menu donnant à confusion car rien n'est classé en entrée/plat principal/accompagnements, etc. Plats choisis étaient à partager, délectables & bien présentés
Un grand merci au chef Olivier Vigneault & à toute l'équipe du Jatoba pour cette expérience hors du commun. La nourriture était tout simplement excellente, pleine de saveurs & parfaitement préparée. De plus, le service & le décor étaient également exceptionnels. Je recommande fortement !
Belle endroit pour manger entre amis & boire un bon verre! L'ambiance est amusante & le décor est incroyable! Niveau nourriture tout était délicieux, excellent dumping, sushi, filet mignon! Nous avons adoré notre expérience! On recommande!.
It's important to note that although this restaurant is very good, it is very expensive & clients should know this beforehand. Cost over 300$ for two people, & this is with only one alcohol beverage. However, we did leave very full. The atmosphere is amazing, the decor is phenomenal & it feels very cozy. Great date place. The service was very good, hostess at front was kind & happy. Our waiter(male with moustache), did not make any mistakes, & came to see us the perfect amount of times, however the person I brought here felt like he was never smiling & looked annoyed to serve us, which can make people feel uncomfortable. We understand that working in the service industry is not always easy & fun, but in restaurants where there is a tip at the end & you have an extremely high bill, it doesn't leave a customer feeling like they want to tip. So the person I brought here felt sour to leave so much money to the waiter after feeling like we were a burden to him. The menu is very big, which is shocking for a place with a lot of quality because that is hard to achieve. It allows people with different food tastes to come; they hold seafood, meats, dumplings, salads, sushi, rice options, & more. It was wonderful to have such options. I do recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn't have a budget & wants to experience a fun cozy & quality evening.
Excellent meal & wonderful service. Lots of choices. Maybe the best scallops I've ever had. Beautiful decor & interesting music at a moderate volume so we could enjoy it & hold a conversation.

Bonjour, nous sommes allés manger à ce resto le 29 août 2024 pour fêter les 20 ans de ma fille. Malheureusement, ma fille & moi avons été déçues de notre expérience. Les assiettes étaient belles mais le goût n'y était pas. Nous avons commandé un gyosa qui était très fade, un maki saumon épicé qui n'était pas épicé, une salade de mangue papaye qui n'avait pas de goût. La papaye était très croquante & il n'y avait pas ou peu de marinade alors nous avions l'impression de manger juste de la papaye crue. Nous avons cherché la mangue. Une assiette de quatre crevettes tempura, correcte, mais ça reste 4 crevettes & la sauce était très basique pour une entrée à 48$, ça fait chère la crevette. Seul le Virgin Jatoba que ma fille a commandé était très bon. C'est navrant mais nous avons décidé d'en rester là pour la soirée. J'espère que ce n'était qu'une malchance mais à 144$ avant le pourboire, ce n'était définitivement pas à la hauteur de nos attentes. Nous avons également trouvé le personnel de service hautin. Nous avions l'impression que nous n'étions pas assez jetset pour le décor. C'est dommage car ce restaurant nous avait été recommandée chaudement par une amie. Meilleure chance la prochaine fois! (En passant j'ai mis la même note sur Libro).
Hands down the best restaurant we've been to in Montreal. From the chic decor & vibrant atmosphere to the impeccable service & incredible food, Jatoba sets the bar high. Chef Olivier personally attended to us, offering a chef's recommendation menu that allowed us to sample some of the finest dishes on offer. Every plate was a delightful masterpiece, showcasing extraordinary flavors & culinary skill. Highly recommend Jatoba for an unforgettable dining experience.
We had a great experience overall, starting with the affordable valet parking service, to the great ambience & nice decor, going through ordering our drinks, entrance & plate. The duck confit fried rice is a must & for petoncle lovers also try the plate they have. Also as an entrance the fried mushroom is great & the dynamite shrimp are made their own way & it's really good. Will go again
Le décor de la section en arrière est magnifique. Bravo à l'équipe qui a pris la réservation & qui nous a donné une table en fonction de la demande spéciale que j'ai faite. J'ai pris l'entrée d'egg Roll & honnêtement, ça ne goûtait vraiment pas grand chose. Pour les plats, même chose pour les spare ribs. La morue à la jatoba était très bonne par contre. J'ai été attiré par la beauté de l'endroit, je suis contente de l'avoir essayé, mais je ne risque pas d'y retourner, ce n'est que mon expérience, allez-y pour voir par vous-même.

Server took ages to come & greet us. When he did he seemed annoyed & inconvenienced by us. Didn't really ask us how he could help us we had to tell him we needed drinks & were ready to order. We had a 530 reservation so it wasn't really that busy. We loved the food & the decor, but not sure we feel comfortable with how we were treated. For the price point we are looking for a seamless experience.
Food was excellent, Amelie was a great help on helping us choose from the menu & so friendly. The decor & vibe is classy & tasteful. We had a great experience & will definitely go back
