We celebrated my girlfriend's 40th birthday last night & had an unforgettable supper at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the host greeted us with a warm smile & made us feel genuinely welcome, setting a relaxed & celebratory tone for the evening.
Our waiter was attentive, courteous, & friendly throughout the meal, always checking in at just the right moments & acknowledging that it was a special occasion for us.What truly elevated the experience was when Chef Olivier personally came to our table to say hello & present a few of the dishes himself. This thoughtful gesture made us feel incredibly honored, & my girlfriend felt extra special, as if the whole team was celebrating with us.
The combination of warm hospitality, professional service, & that personal touch from the chef turned a simple night out into a beautiful memory that we will cherish for a long time.
We would wholeheartedly recommend this place for anyone looking to celebrate an important milestone or simply enjoy a memorable evening.

J'ai beaucoup aimé mon expérience au Jatoba. Ils sont reconnus pour leurs plateaux de poissons assez dispendieux, mais je voulais tester une première fois le restaurant pour pas trop cher avant. Ils offrent plusieurs options d'une grande qualité à un prix abordable. J'ai été ravi par la bento box que j'ai pu mangé. J'ai adoré ne pas savoir à l'avance ce que j'allais manger & laisser l'inspiration du chef faire mon repas. J'ai pu avoir un copieux repas qui explosait en saveur pour un excellent prix !

Une belle & bonne adresse à MTL. Accueil chaleureux & service hors pair. Plats inventifs & appétissants. Cuisine asiatique raffinée. Atmosphère décontractée notamment sur la magnifique véranda. Une délicate attention de la part du chef exécutif: une jolie carte d'anniversaire déposée sur notre table.
Un grand merci au chef Olivier Vigneault & à toute l'équipe du Jatoba pour cette expérience hors du commun. La nourriture était tout simplement excellente, pleine de saveurs & parfaitement préparée. De plus, le service & le décor étaient également exceptionnels. Je recommande fortement !
Tout était absolument parfait!
Les saveurs explosent & leur carte des vins nous a permis de faire de très beaux accords avec le thon, le bar & le wagyu.
Merci au chef Vigneault de nous avoir fait déguster en dessert une tranche de melon Japonais recouverte de caviar, c'était sublime avec notre dernier verre de Chassagne-Montrachet !
One of my favorite places for top notch Asian fusion cuisine restaurants in Montreal.
We ordered Ha Gao?Sweet & Spicy Chinese Eggplants, Crispy Tofu , Spicy Salmon Tartare , caramel cake & of course the most tasty cocktails. You can tell the chef is very particular on the freshness of the ingredients. Enjoyed the service & the ambience at this place. I will definitely revisit this little gem next time.

Service hors pair, qualité exceptionelle, le chef & co-propriétaire Olivier est venu à notre table présenté le sashimi qui font dans la bouche. Le tout pour finir avec un saké incroyable!
J'ai adoré mon expérience au Jatoba. Le service était impeccable : les serveurs ont su nous suggérer d'excellents plats.
La nourriture était succulente, & même le chef est venu nous saluer, ce qui a ajouté une belle touche personnelle.
J'aime beaucoup ce restaurant : les aliments sont frais, les saveurs sont recherchées, & chaque bouchée est une véritable explosion en bouche !
Je le recommande fortement.

In my top 3 restaurants in Montreal. Highest quality raw fish. Multiple options for dietary restrictions & the staff is knowledgeable. Great service, fantastic food, an amazing chef that presents the sashimi platter himself each time since the first visit about 9 years ago. Never have I or anyone I know had food poisoning there unlike many other places I've tried with raw fish in the city that claim to be high end. Jatoba is the place to go for date night, celebration, night out with the ladies, corporate meals & groups. Many plants & sections inside to create cozy spots too. Accessibility: There are about 5 steps to enter & a full flight of stairs to get to the washrooms in the basement. Parking: they offer valet service such a blessing.

Jatoba was fantastic! We went for their NYE special & everything was amazing from the food to the service. Thomas & Marie were very attentive throughout the night & so kind. The detail that the chef did for the menu was out of this world. Highly recommend, will come back next trip to Montreal
phenomenal venue, great service from the sever & bartender Pierre, sitting at the bar is a great experience- we couldn't decide what to order so they created a mini tasting menu for us - chef came over to say hi, which was lovely! we loved everything highly recommended
Un restaurant paisible, à l'ambiance raffinée. Le personnel était aux petits soins, disponible & de très bons conseils. Nous voulions mélanger nos choix de nourriture pour un format dégustation en amoureux, le chef de table nous a recommandé quoi prendre & à quel moment selon nos goûts. C'était goûteux, exquis. Rien à rajouter, la cuisson impeccable, l'assaisonnement aussi, tout était délicieux & de qualité. Nous reviendrons certainement !
Hands down the best restaurant we've been to in Montreal. From the chic decor & vibrant atmosphere to the impeccable service & incredible food, Jatoba sets the bar high. Chef Olivier personally attended to us, offering a chef's recommendation menu that allowed us to sample some of the finest dishes on offer. Every plate was a delightful masterpiece, showcasing extraordinary flavors & culinary skill. Highly recommend Jatoba for an unforgettable dining experience.
About a couple of weeks ago, my friend & I had dinner here to celebrate my milestone birthday. We ordered several different dishes & they were all excellent; the food was a highlight! Delicious, creative, & good-sized portions. Where I was disappointed was in the cold service of our main waiter. The other wait staff (who refilled our water & cleaned the table between dishes) was great. The main waiter was efficient but strictly business, nothing more. When my friend told him it was my birthday & that he wanted to make my dessert special, it's as if the waiter didn't register it at all or didn't care to. We ordered from the dessert menu & were served it regularly while other tables (including the one literally right beside us) received sparklers in their desserts for their own celebrations... ☹️ Thankfully, the food made the night. Compliments to the chef ❤️because what struck me was the play with texture, which many restaurants forget about. It is this attention to detail that really elevated the food for me.
